The book preview is a section where you need to manually add the text – its a WYSIWYG editor similar to how you add blog posts. The theme utilizes the Easy Digital Downloads plugin for the book selling functionality. Make sure you are adding the full shortcode code – with the opening button tag also: [button to="enter-url-here"]enter-button-text-here[/button] In the “to” parameter you can add the full URL to the place where you want the button to lead. Between the button tags you can enter the label of the button.

Adding captcha in the form is possible by editing the theme files. We recommend hiring a freelancer for that. Unfortunately the “Read the Book” functionality is not a separate plugin and is part of the theme

The plugin comes with the theme. When you activate the theme, you will see a message of the required and recommended plugins. From there you can click to install them. The Advanced Custom Fields PRO plugin is bundled with the theme and will be installed from its directory. The best way you can add a mobile background is to use the custom CSS field in Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS

The slider feature you are describing will require more complex theme changes (using the child theme for such customizations is recommended). That would be best done by hiring a freelancer to customize it for you.

The minimum height of the hero image is 700px – it can go above that if the content inside is too big. So something like 1920×700 will do the job.

Make sure you install and activate all required plugins – most importantly the Advanced Custom Fields PRO plugin. Then when you make your homepage, in the right bar select the Homepage template from Page Attributes. You will then see options to adjust the homepage.

Real quick, is there a way to change the font color? I have been trying to change the menu font color from white to overlay over my selected image better. I also want to change the heading/article titles from black. Is this possible?

You can adjust them by adding some CSS in Novela Options > Custom CSS: .sb-slidebar ul li a { color: #ff7d7d; }

As for the titles, you can alter the h1 color, but that will be a more general change. Otherwise you can target the specific section titles, similar to the above CSS. To inspect the element on the web page, you’ll have to hit F12 in Chrome or Firefox . As can be seen for the demo you can add a preview for each book you want to sell. The books are implemented as WooCommerce products, so you can add a digital product which can be the PDF the user receives when he buys the book. There isn’t a functionality where the user directly reads the pdf from the website, he can download it when he purchases the book. 1. There is no dummy images in demo 2. Blog listing page not created as per demo. I mean no pages created except front page 3. Individual blog data is not there for blog listing 4. Menu along with menu items missing

Also there are bugs in demo too: 1. When we are on blog page, we can’t go back to Home from menu 2. Extra widgets coming on footer after contact form 3. Other lots of issues

1. Sorry for the confusion. The dummy xml is an import that makes the layout of the theme the same as the demo. No images are included. Have you taken a look at the documentation? Editing the front page is really easy and straightforward. You just click Edit and fill all of the needed fields.

2., 3. The dummy is the front page of the demo. There is nothing else of importance really. You can go to your admin dashboard click Posts > New and add your blog posts. They will automatically appear in the corresponding front page section.

4. As said, the dummy is the front page only. You can easily customize the menu to fit your taste by going to Appearance > Menus.

The screenshot looks exactly as it should be. The widgets are what you originally had inserted in Appearance > Widgets. You can remove them from there.

As said, it’s just a dummy layout to get you started quickly. It’s not a full 1 click demo installer because it is not needed for a simple demo like the one here.

We recommend you take a look at the documentation in the “documentation” folder or online at http://subsolardesigns.com/documentation/novela/ and see how fast setting up the theme with your own content is.

The functionality is part of the theme and it is custom integrated to work with the theme’s book setup. It is not coming from some 3rd party WordPress plugin.

No, there isn´t such functionality in the theme. That will require customization to the there and we can recommend you to hire a freelancer for that

As can be seen from the demo, the reader is for preview purposes. There is no “read after purchase” functionality.

If you change your theme with a new one, you will probably have to refill all of your content again.
