Any upcoming updates from October 2020?

Our dev team is working hard at the moment on updating all our themes. We don’t have any ETA when this update will come out, however, we can say that the theme is compatible with the versions of WordPress up to 5.7 and you can always check the article in this link.
We haven’t tested our theme with WP 5.8 yet. It would be best to wait until we release an official update, but you can also try using this plugin as a temporary solution if you run into issues with widgets on the latest WordPress version.

Please try the suggestion from this article. If the menu is not working after the installation of the plugin, go to Tools and select jQuery Migrate in your left-side WordPress dashboard menu. It will open the jQuery Migrate settings. Here in jQuery Version option just change to Legacy jQuery version and click save settings button.

If i change the menu type on a page i get a wrong margin-top resulting in white space on page top. i notive a -155px margin top on homepage and -60 on pages with splitted menu. how can i solve it?

It is possible to display the cart icon next to menu on the desktop version by adding ‘Edge Woocommerce Dropdown Cart’ widget in ‘Header Widget Menu Area’ ( please see screenshot 1 and screenshot 2 ). It is also possible to display cart icon in mobile header by adding ‘Edge Woocommerce Dropdown Cart’ widget in ‘Mobile Header Widget Area’ ( please see screenshot 1 and screenshot 2 ).

I have been using UNCODE theme { https://undsgn.com/uncode }for many years as it has great custom options in Visual Composer for adding customised taxonomies for things like blog posts, portfolios, galleries etc. I have read your documentation but it doesn’t explain about any custom VC elements you have and how they work. I will be building a site for a pub with restaurant and hotel and they will have an active blog and events. So I will want to be able to create categories and then be able to just display that category on a certain section of the website. An example would be to create an events category and then have an events section on the homepage and be able to style using columns etc. These are the little extras that make it a great theme.

As for the events please understand that the theme does not have events included and this would have to be handled by some 3rd party plugin, also we can not guaranty nor recommend theme compatibility as it has not been tested with our theme.

You do have 2 options. One is to choose a template page which will list all your blog posts, and the other one is to use our themes shortcode where you can select a category which will be shown.

Under the widget, “Header Divided Left Widget” where the social media icons are, there is no way to delete some of them. I’m trying to get rid of Vimeo but under the icons menu there is no way to select “none”. And you aren’t able to delete that one social media icon. Can you tell me how to accomplish this?
Also, documentation for the open table is pretty worthless. I can find no instruction even on their own site for the Open Table ID that is required under Edge Options and reservations.

I’m trying to import the dummy content after the WP and all necessary plugin installs but it’s been sitting at 30% for an hour. Trying to figure out whether it’s hung up or just taking a long time. I do realize there are alot of large files to upload.

Your theme (GastroBar Child) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce. Suggestions to fix this:
Update your theme to the latest version. If no update is available contact your theme author asking about compatibility with the current WooCommerce version. If you copied over a template file to change something, then you will need to copy the new version of the template and apply your changes again.

We recently noticed several oddities on our site:
1) in the backend we can no longer edit existing pages through WP Bakery - we believe this happened back when Guttenberg was added to WP. Is this a known issue?2) Our instagram feed stopped working some time between mid-June and now. We attempted to reconnect through Edge Settings but receive this error: {“error_type”: “OAuthException”, “code”: 400, “error_message”: “Invalid scope field(s): basic”} We know that changes were made to Instagram’s API recently – should this feature still be working in the Gastobar theme or is this a known issue?
We thought we’d do an update to the theme to see if it resolved any of those errors – the site is currently on 1.1.
We first attempted an update using the Envato Market plug-in. But get this error: There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions. We never received an email so had no instructions to follow.
We updated the PHP on the site and tried again, same issue. Knowing the last theme update is a year+ old, we wanted to confirm that v 1.3 will work on 7.3, v 1.1 seems fine on it, so I’m assuming yes.
We then attempted a manual update by downloading the theme files directly from Envato Market and placing them in /wp-content/themes/gastrobar per your Theme install instructions. But when that version was installed it still says it is v 1.1. How do we get the v1.3 theme files, so we can do a manual update?
So quick recap:
1) Were there any known issues with the theme (v 1.1) from the Guttenberg update that caused pages created in WPBakery to no longer be edited through WPBakery? 2) Should the Instagram feed connected through Edge Settings/Social Networks still be working? 3) Does the theme work on PHP 7.3? And if not, what is the max PHP? 4) How do we get v 1.3 files to do a manual theme update? The files we could download from our account in Envato Market appear to be v 1.1 once installed.

To update the theme and its plugins you can follow our guidance here, so important part would be to once you update the theme, navigate to plugins and deactivate and delete the plugins. After this is done you will get the message that you need to install the latest plugin versions.
