Hello again,
I hope you can help me with an error in your theme, it seems. I have built and “intro page” with the video that I want to open the site (the reason I bought your theme).
Originally it played perfectly. But for some reason yesterday (I can think of nothing I have done but there could be something).. .it started cutting off before the video was finished and redirecting too soon. Before it played all the way through, now it is cutting off too soon.

I played through a couple of times and it played all the way through for me and redirected at the end. Our theme will redirect when the YouTube API changes it’s state to “ENDED”, I am not sure what would cause this to happen early. Can you try clearing the browser cache and disabling browser addons. Also please tell me what browsers this happens in.

Hello TC,
The issue is only in Chrome (which is the most important browser). But yeah, I have cleared my cache and all. Even loaded it on other computers in my house and on Chrome it always ends too soon, but not consistantely. Every time at a different place. I have even tried other videos and it still does this. http://www.ancientboom.com

Thank you very much, I have followed the instructions and now everything is working fine.. I have another question.. When I build (customize) the page as in preview, its fine.. I have customized the page intro and added a video..but it is configured so that, it displays only video, it is written; “Enter the URL of a YouTube or Vimeo video. The background video will show instead of the background images, except on tablets and mobile devices.” so, after the video is finished, the video still appears in all pages! is it possible to have the video only in “intro page” and have the background images in the rest of the webpage, I mean everywhere..after the intro page.

When you edit the intro page in WordPress, in the Storm Options settings, below the content, enter the video URL at the “Background video URL ” option. In the theme options panel, make sure you don’t have a video URL in Background -> Video.

Excellent theme, it’s really helped me take my site/blog further than I had been able to in the past. I noticed there is an update that addresses a couple concerns, but I wanted to make sure I go about updating it in the correct manner. Do I simply upload it through the dashboard and let it ‘re’install? Thanks. I’ve checked the documentation but didn’t see it addressed.
1. Make a backup of the theme and database just incase something goes wrong.
2. Make a note of any files you have changed within the “storm” folder and make sure you have a copy of the file locally
3. Activate another theme e.g. TwentyEleven, then delete the “Storm” theme. This will delete the theme files, but keep your theme settings in the database.
4. Upload and install the latest version of our theme.
5. Merge any changes you made to files within the “storm” folder to the files in the new version. You may get away with using your full modified version of the file you changed if not much or nothing has changed. See the changelog for which files have changed.

Thanks! We will try that. One more thing that came up, because I really want this big client to choose your theme… is there any plug in or method that will make the theme responsive?
I don’t know of any way to make the theme itself responsive without writing custom CSS media queries. You could make a mobile version of the site with something like WPTouch Pro but I have never used this so I’m not sure how similar the two versions would be in the end.

Hello, I recently bought this template, sorry, this beautiful template, and really want to make most out of it, but unfortunately i am not experienced with codes, although…it is easy to use, I want to make just as it is in the preview template available, for example the start page, portfolios and posts, I am trying to make them with 4 or more columns, so my questions are as follows;
1- How can i make the start page as it is in the preview mode, with the welcome page!
2- after that, I will also create the menus (that I can do)
then once the visitors clicks on lets say posts…it should appear with 6 columns
3- the same for photos as in posts
4- the same for music…can I let the music files to be seen as list, so that the visitor can choose what to play
5- can I post youtube videos and let them be in 6 columns.
I would be glad to have some help about these issues…

1. In the documentation see the section “Creating a home page like the Storm demo (Left note block)”
2. You can use the blog shortcode, when editing your “Posts” page, click + Shortcode above the edit and choose Blog then set your options and choose 6 columns.
3. Similar to above, but choose the “Portfolio” shortcode and choose 6 columns.
4. No, not without custom work.
5. Yes, if you add a Portfolio Item for each YouTube video (in the settings, choose Type: Video, you’ll also need to upload a featured image for the thumbnail), then follow step 3. If you add portfolio categories then you can specify which items to show for each portfolio shortcode you use.

Hi! I have bought the theme for myself and have nearly persuaded a major client to license it from you. I saw elsewhere that the issue of the black menu bar has come up. My clients (I don’t agree with them) really don’t want the black. PLEASE can you give me the CSS code to change the black elements – at least so I can demonstrate to them why black is preferable?

You will need to take the header.png image into Photoshop or similar and invert it to white / grey, or remake the image to white. If you can’t do it send me an email via our profile page.

This time I read all the index.html instructions, read through many previous posts here and even messed with the style.css file a bunch but cannot figure out how to change the font of the words in the menu.
I really want to use one of the Cufon texts that you have provided (Comfortaa) for that area. How can I change that? Also make them a little bigger?

Hi, in Theme Options – Global – Fonts – CSS selectors, add ul.primary-menu, that will apply the cufon font that you select. (If you are looking to use two different fonts, let me know as Ally would need to tell you if it’s possible.)
To change the font size go to Advanced – Custom CSS , and add this CSS , change the size to suit you.

Since I am using toogles, I am trying to reduce the size of the visible content area. I tried using the “Left note block” and it is better but still covers unnecessary portions of the background photo or video with its transparency. How do I “make a new template”? Thank you, PC
You can create a new template by duplicating one of the existing template files e.g. template-left-note-block.php and change the “Template Name” at the top of the file. WP will then show it in the list when editing a page. You can then customize it to suit. See also http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Creating_Your_Own_Page_Templates

I really like the Storm theme and thus far have been doing pretty well with your extensive documentation. I have been working with Work Press at the office created by a web designer who also trained me how to use. This is my first experience more on my own for my personal website. I have several questions.
1. In order to see more of the photographic or video backgrounds, I’ve used shortcode toggles to minimize the copy that is seen as well as the transparent setting on the page but how can I adjust the length of the copy block on a default template page?
2. I have an Intro, Home, and three or so other pages saved as drafts with the Word Press program. When can I go ahead and Publish and contact my web host to switch from my old Dream Weaver site to my new awesome-looking Word Press site. My website is not very complicated and I feel like I can gradually complete the new Word Press site in a live status. Thank you for your creative flair with website design, Paul
1: Do you want to reduce or increase the size of the content area? You might be best to make a new template for this as if you increase / decrease this size of the main content area it will effect all pages and there will most likely be problems with some elements. Does the “Left note block” template not achieve what you require?

Theme looks good, I am interested in buying if my client approve it, I have these issues how to remove black header, is it possible to have a menu without black header and is it possible to change menu color?
You can add custom CSS to remove the background image for the header. Not sure what you mean by the “menu without black header”. If you mean the box that surrounds the menu, then yes you can add custom CSS to remove it OR if you mean will it still work if you remove the header background – yes. you can easily choose a color scheme for all colors on the site, otherwise you can add custom CSS to effect just the menu.
To add custom CSS go to Options Panel – Advanced – Custom CSS . If you need help on what CSS to add you can let me know when you are ready.

I just bought your theme and love it! I have built many WordPress sites for my clients but this theme is like the most AWESOME that I have had to build with. I cannot imagine how long it must have taken you to put something this complex-yet-easy-to-use together. I noticed it functions much better on iphone and ipad since when it was first debuted, but I hope to see it updated to become even more responsive maybe in the future because that seems to be the most important thing on the web these days with 60% of the internet traffic coming from phones. Until then, it still get a big 5 Star congrats from me. Nice work!!!!
I do have one quick question… How do I keep a Page I have built (for instance> an intro page) from being in the top menu?

You’d need to build a custom menu, at Appearance -> Menus in WordPress, create a new menu and at “Theme Locations” box in the top left set your menu to be the main menu.

No, the audio will stop and start again when changing page. You may be able to achieve what you want with an “AJAX page loader” plugin, which will change the page content without reloading the page.

I need to change the font size for the text that’s in the content area and change the size for the text for when you click on the menu buttons.
I can then copy the code and input it into “Custom CSS ” section. From there I can change the font size after I copy what you’ll give me to paste.

You can add styles into the Theme options panel > Advanced > Custom CSS .
I would recommend using a code inspector (available with Chrome, IE9 , or firebug add on for Firefox) to find the CSS selector name that has the font-size assigned to it, then add the new font size (like below) in the CSS field:
h1.entry-title {font-size: 22px;}

Regarding quform that came with this theme, I asked the following question to the quform, but I didn’t get an answer, and hope you can help me.

I am using the quform that came with one of your themes. I was wondering if there is a way to have a date element tied to single line text element versus those day/month/year drop downs. It would be great to link the date picker to a single line text element like this example. If this capability is already available, then I don’t know how to set it up. Thanks

The host I use does not support your contact form. How would I utilize the Contact page template but with a generic form like Contact Form 7?
