First off, thank you so much for getting back to me quickly on the “video background” question. My next question pertains to altering the site colors. In the videos, I see that there’s a gear on the left side of the page that shows more options, but I don’t have that gear. I get to an option that add ”/?show-color-panel=yes” to the url, but that doesn’t show me the gear or the color options the way the videos display it.
If you log in as an admin and then open the fornt-end, then if you have a black admin bar at the top, then this icon will be on the left as in the video.

I go to the front end, I do have a black admin bar, but my options are “Site name->Dashboard, Themes, Widgets, Menu | Customize | Comments | New->Post, Media, Page, User, Layers Page | Edit Page | Manage Wordpress [from my host]
You should see gears on left side in this case. Try to disable all plugins. Also you should have permissions to edit theme files. Make sure that you can edit theme files via theme editor in the admin panel. Also check error messages in the browser console. To open browser console in Chrome press Ctrl Shift J (on Windows) or Ctrl Option J (on Mac).
On Mac is Cmd + Option + J. The only errors I’m getting is for mixed media (because I’m building on a staging server). The only plug-ins I have running are Easy Fancybox, Skrollex Extension [ I’m also using Contact Form 7 and Classic Editor, but I turned them off with no difference]. Try to close Customizer and open frontend only. Without left Customizer sidebar. With black admin bar on top only. Gears should be on left page border near social icons.
Check your permissions – make sure that you can edit theme files via theme editor in the admin panel. You should have Appearance / Theme Editor in the admin panel if you have this permissions.
If you use latest version of WordPress, install latest version of Skrollex since old versions of Skrollex is not tested with latest version of WordPress.
Yes, I can edit theme files from the Theme Editor under Appearance. I still don’t get the gear option.
My Wordpress is Version 5.8.2 and my Skrollex is Version 1.1.
I don’t think we’re getting anywhere. Would you be able to tell me which class or file I need to update to change the color of the pattern that moves behind the title letters?
Actually, I think I just found it. .colors-_ .fill-highlight.
Skrollex 1.1 is old version. This version is not tested with latest WordPress. Please download and install latest version of Skrollex. You can change the color for this class via CSS, but if the gears are not showing, when something is wrong.
Getting this error message on install: The parent theme could not be found. You will need to install the parent theme, layerswp, before you can use this child theme.

Thanks // Michael micke@accurato.seIt looks like the page hasn’t been created. Try disabling all plugins and creating the page again from the preset. If it doesn’t help, then see what is displayed in the error log on the server at the time of the page creation. Ask your hosting provider where to view the error log. More often, the page cannot be created due to the limitations of the hosting provider. There is not enough memory, access rights or something similar. From the messages in the error log, you can understand the reason.

Change URL in href and insert it to Appearance / Customize / Site Settings / Additional Scripts / Custom Header Scripts
My website seems to be a little laggy when scrolling, once I have the main slider off the screen it is fine. It almost feels like lazy loading, is there a way I can disable this? Maybe its something else though? I have checked and reduced my image size that I have as background for header but it didn’t really help.

Scrolling is usually slowed down by a large number of animations on one page. If you provide a link to your page, I can say more precisely. If there are as many animations as on my demo site, then the scrolling efficiency should be the same. A large number of static images can also affect the scrolling efficiency, as it uses the device’s graphics resources. Try to create a new page from the same preset. Scrolling efficiency should be similar to my demo site.

For Fontawesome icons you shold use class like ‘fa fa-play’. For Linecons icons you shold use class like ‘li_video’.
The version of FontAwesome that is included in the Layers is used by default. This is not the latest version of FontAwesome and some icons may not be available. You can try to install third party plugins for support latest version of Fontawesome.
You can use other icon sets, but keep in mind that Skrollex not tested with them. The easiest way to use the sets which have the WordPress version. You should use documentation of the developer of icon set. Most of the sets after the installation can also be used as the Fontawesome and Linecons, but have different class names.

Hello. I just purchased your theme. I am getting that error of using the child theme without the parent. I followed the instructions, but have not been successful unloading the theme.
I have: Downloaded only the Wordpress and get an error (missing style) Downloaded All Files, Extracted, and used the name zip (missing parent) I used Wordpress install I used FTP

Hi SInce the last version of WORDPRESS 5.8.1, i lost my classic editor for SKROLLEX Theme. I had to install the plugin “Classic Widget” to make my website functional. Should my website be updated ? Thank you for your feedback
You should download and install the latest version of Skrollex for WordPress 5.8.x. Classic Widgets is not needed.

Layers and Skrollex should be installed as themes. These are not plugins.
oke i get that point one. The other error “The link you followed has expired. Please try again.” when i install skrollex theme.
Sometimes WordPress writes such a message if the theme size exceeds the upload size limit. Increase the upload size limit or install the theme using FTP or CPanel. This is described in the WordPress documentation.

If you have the latest version of Skrollex and the latest version of Layers, then it should work. Check which version numbers are displayed in the admin panel for Skrollex and for WordPress. Also, try deactivating all plugins.

Sorry for the delay in answering. Layerswp must installed as theme. Not as a plugin. This is the parent theme. It needs to be installed like a regular WordPress theme. Then also install Skrollex as a regular WordPress theme.
Hello. Love the theme, but when I open it on mobile the image on the top banner and some main titles from the body are not responsive. This is the website: https://www.thewaterhouse.com/ can you guys help?
Titles are responsive, fonts is resized, but titles with heading effect are not automatically wrapped. Apply effects only to short headings or break them to multiple lines.
And how can I make the image from the top banners responsive? it comes out so big on mobile that you can only see a portion of it.
Sorry for the delay in answering. I didn’t quite understand which top banners you mean. If you mean background images, then they are automatically scaled to fit the section. It should be keep in mind that a section can have different aspect ration, depending on the size of the device and the background image can be clipped at the left and right or top and bottom edges.
How do I permanently make all videos responsive? I’ve tried to make one video responsive a few different ways (iframe, CodeSnippet plugin, custom CSS, etc) but nothing has worked.

Love this template. But after a while with no updates – I can’t seem to edit the pages. No lyaers or costomize options avilable. 1/ can an update make the different? 2/ how do I update? uploading the template files once again? Thanks
If you have the latest version of WordPress, then you need to install the latest version of Skrollex. Download Skrollex in your account and reinstall it. You can uninstall the old version and install the new version, or overwrite all theme files.

My installation of the theme does not appear to have the same layers menu shown in the videos, for instance adding video background . I have installed by uploading files via cPanel on my host. The layers and skrollex themes show up using this method, and I can add page home page from layers menu on left, but once page loads, adding video background to chosen theme does not not let me see the same menu as videos.
Look like you use old version of Skrollex with new version of WordPress. Please install latest version of Skrollex.
How about a little direction on where to download updated version. I downloaded from the link where I purchased it on your theme page. Why would the latest version not be downloaded at purchase?
When you purchase, you download the latest version available. You can later download the updates in your account. The supported version of WordPress is listed in the item descriptions. When purchasing a theme, make sure you have a supported version of WordPress installed. The latest version of Skrollex is 2.8. Only version 2.8 was tested with the latest version of WordPress. Check which version of Skrollex you have installed. This can be seen in the WordPress admin panel.
You must have a section in your account to download purchased items. If you have difficulty downloading, then ask the ThemeForest support question.
Hi x40, I use Skrollex for my website. Congratulations, that”s a great theme ! My version is 2.0, how can I upgrade to the latest version because I have problem editing sx section widgets with Wordpress 5.8. So I think I should upgrade to Skrollex 2.8 but I have no warning or link to update.

You can download latest version of Skrollex from ThemeForest via your account and reinstall it.
Many thanks x40 : it works ! I just deleted the folder /wp-content/themes/skrollex/ and re-upload the new one I downloaded from ThemeForest, and that’s it. Now I can edit all widgets, well. Best regards.
