1) as I know meta tags aren’t important at all for Google for the last few years. You can always install some plugin which allows adding custom meta tags (like All in One SEO Pack)
2) In the folder plugins in the ZIP file you’ve downloaded are widgets we’re using in footer on our Live preview.
3) These are Icon boxes (Shortcode button…)

Two (hopefully quick) queries:
1. I’m having issues with the contact form. It’s all set up, looks right on the page and when you fill it out and press the ‘send’ button it confirms that the message has been sent. However, the email doesn’t come through to the email address specified. Any ideas?
2. Is there a way to make the blog post permalinks feature ’/blog’ (eg. www.freshlyground.co.nz/blog/sample-post) like it automatically does for the portfolio items? At the moment it’s just ‘www.freshlyground.co.nz/sample-blog’ (I want it to specify the ‘blog’ part for site mapping purposes).

1) It can be something with your spam settings, or you haven’t specify FROM address, or something else. Because I can’t login right now to your dashboard (and test it), please try to use Contact 7 plugin instead of our contact page template.
2) Not sure, but I think on Permalink Settings page “Category base” is what you want to define.
I can’t seem to make a difference via the Category Base settings, but will keep trying to see if there’s something else that’s involved… however, now I have an issue with the blog posts. I just uploaded a new post with slider (5 images) and it’s all working fine, except now an earlier post that also has sliders has changed on the blog page so it’s the same images as the latest blog post… however, when you actually click on the older post and go into the post page, the old images are still in the slider on that page… you can see the main blog page here: http://www.freshlyground.co.nz/blog/ and the post page (with correct images) here: http://www.freshlyground.co.nz/morepork-magpie/

Hi,
as I can see there is conflict with theme slider plugin. You have to delete our theme, or plugin via FTP , or your hosting File manager.
If you don’t need that plugin, don’t upload it again. If you need that plugin, search and replace my_admin_styles with plugin_slider_admin_styles in plugin files.

Hi, I have Extra Images posted for the slider of each portfolio item on my site. I added the “Portfolio” feature from the Brankic pull-down list at the bottom of each post to display the other items. When I do this, one portfolio item’s images override every other portfolio item’s slider images.
Go to http://www.ericcumalander.com/ericwp/ All three portfolio items display the same images. How can I fix this? Thanks!
Right now I can’t test it because I have very limited access to internet, but I’ll try to replicate this issue on my local computer to see what’s wrong in that case…

This happens if you use portfolio shortcode on portfolio single page. I’ll try to find workaround for this issue in next update (but it won’t be published in next 10 days, because I’m overload with questions received while I was in the hospital).

I have made the Spanish language .po and .mo files and would like to ask you in which folder you recommend to put them so that the next theme update does’t eliminate them.
Finally, I have a problem with the numbering in the prettyPhoto lighbox. In posts which only include extra images (i.e. no images in post text area) the numbering shows consistently 2 more (if I have 3 images, it says 5 and so on). In posts which include also images in the text area (with the rel=”prettyPhoto[]” link), numbering is just fine.
Any idea?

If you’re updating theme via FTP , you don’t have to save it somewhere else.
But, of course please save it also on your computer so you can always upload it if necessary.

For home page we’re using static page (Settings -> Reading)

Where do you want to add YT videos?
If you want to add it to post or page, you have to paste embed code into HTML editor (not Visual).
There are a lots of plugins which makes this process much easier.

I created a new page and selected the “Blog 3” template for it however the theme doesn’t catch the template. Actually, it only displays de “Blog 1” template independently of what kind of blog template I select (it does display the Contact template, though). I also observed that the page title, which should be “Blog” in this case, displays the page title of the Homepage. Any idea? I hope my questions is specific enough (I just cannot think of other details to comment you).

I think that problem is in permalink structure. I gues you have the same slug for category and page and in that case WP is using category template (index.php).
You should change these slugs, but before that try to use default permalink (ugly one) setting and see if this happens…
Thank you for this suggestion. Finally I resolved it not establishing an «entry page» in the General Options (where you can choose also which page will be your static Homepage). I just left the blog page option blank.

I’m having the same Flickr problem as the user on page 37. Instragram works fine.
I’ve tried both Flickr “ID” and username. I’ve also tried hardcoding both values into bra.photostream.js.

One more question. When adding the portfolio shortcode the only part that isn’t working is when I choose the option to eliminate the hover. I choose hover active > “no” from the dropdown menu. When I view the page, the hover is still active and I see no evidence in the shortcode that the hover has been deactivated. Here is what my short code reads [bra_portfolio title=’Recent Work’ cat_id=’21’ no=’-1’ show_filters=’yes’ columns=’3’ shape=’’ height=’‘] How am I supposed to deactivate the hover?
Also, how in the world did you get the custom background on the portfolio page without using the featured image or extra images? I tried both extra and featured, but they show up on the page itself as part of the content. Then I tried to “hide featured image > yes” and the background image wouldn’t work. What is your trick?
More issues When I set the permalink settings to use post name instead of the default, my single page for my portfolio pieces break. If I switch back to the default i can’t change the page name permalink, that can’t be good for SEO . Right? And it’s ugly. When I click on a portfolio piece with the post name settings in effect, the page says “No posts were found.” So, how do I get pretty permalinks & still be able to click on a portfolio piece to have the single page come up properly?

To use background image on some page, you have to upload it to Extra images and select this Extra image from the drop down in Brankic Custom Field (Choose background image from Featured / Extra Images)

Obviously you have same slug names for category and page.
Change slugs, and try some other permalink setting (month and name)
ps: permalink isn’t that so important for SEO . Page title and quality content is what’s important the most.

Categories slugs are: work-from-carolina-style-hair-salon, men-hair, women-hair, hair-color, hair-extensions, feather-hair-extensions, kids-hair, manicure-nails, hair-style, hair-updos, women-long-cuts, women-short-cuts.
Page slugs are: home, contact, photos, products, services, specials, stylists.
No permalink setting works besides the WordPress default. What else could I be doing wrong? I want to fix this issue so that I may have pretty permalinks. Please help. Thank you!!

You can’t have slider if you’re using Latest posts for Front page (Appearance -> Reading).
Choose static page, and add Extra images to that page…

2 Quick questions – I want to adjusting the <, > icons that are used on your BigBang sliders. I cannot seem to find where they exist either as images or as css – within the files. Can you point me in the direction? - there is a horizontal rule. a line under the header (main menu) on all pages. I’d like to remove that rule (i’ve removed the others throughout the pages) – but cannot find this one in the CSS or the php documents. Can you point me to where this one exists.
