Hey there,
I’m having problems replicating the sidebar with the author & recent posts just like on the preview page: https://preview.themeforest.net/item/norway-responsive-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/12671393?_ga=2.205494992.1552483743.1641072294-296640680.1605260275
I think a plugin called “Bekento Tools” is needed but I do not have it and I can’t find anywhere to download it.
Br,
Hi edonlutaa,
If you don’t have MajorThemes Tools with Profile and Thumbnail Recent Posts widgets you can install this plugin in Appearance > Install Plugins.
You can contact me at support@major-themes.com and i will help you with the plugin installation and widgets setup.

Hello!
First of all i want to thank you for this wonderful theme. I haven’t seen such a smart and intuitive as well as well documented premium theme in a long time.
The following points I noticed that I need help with:
1. “Class Person” takes the author image from Gravatar and not from the user settings from the “Custom Avatar” link like the “Profile widget”. I have disabled Gravatar in the settings under discussion for privacy reasons. I would like to see only the “Custom Avatar” used on post pages as well as the overview page of all posts. —> As a work around I have solved the problem with the plugin “Simple Local Avatars”. This is the only way I have to set the author avatar twice.
2. I have installed the “MajorThemes Tools 4”, unfortunately the widgets “Archives” and “Recent Posts” are not displayed. I only see the “Profile” and “Thumbnail Category Posts” widgets. “Archives” and “Recent posts” widgets are not displayed in the theme design. I wish that I can use these two widgets exactly like in the preview of the theme in the sidebar as well as in the footer.
btw: I have made a German translation. Maybe this is useful for other of your clients?
My website is in maintenance mode. Please give me a sign if you need to see this or need access to the backend.
Glad to hear from you and wish a happy new year!
Thanks in advance and best regards
Alex
Hi Alex,
Many thanks, I always create themes so i can use them myself on my personal blog
1. If you installed MajorThemes Tools 4 you should have custom avatars available in Users > All Users > (Hover on User and click “Edit”) > Account Management section > Custom Avatar. This uploaded avatar will be used in Profile Widget. In next theme version (9) this option will be global across theme and require no additional plugins. You can send me a message at support@major-themes.com if you want this feature before the v9 update.
2. “Thumbnail Category Posts” is the Widget used both for “Recent Posts” (with thumbnails) and “Our locations” (with markers). “Archives” and “Recent Posts” without thumbnail are built-in into Wordpress widgets, you can find them in widget search. You can contact me so i can help you with every widget setup.
> I have made a German translation. Maybe this is useful for other of your clients?
Absolutely! I can include it in the next theme version if you allow it for me to use.
Happy New Year to you too!
Please contact me at support@major-themes.com so i can help you with widgets and custom avatars option (at no extra charge, free for you).

Hi, I am very happy with the theme but I have a little problem with my website www.fanaticar.de . Namely words are cut off left and right on iPhone and iPad. That means it tries to be responsive but doesn’t quite make it. Is there any tip how I can quickly correct this?
Hello marioroman_pictures,
You can copy-paste this code in Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS:
@media (max-width: 1000px) {
.slideshow-featured-top, .top_featured_layout-slideshow .featured-top {
height: auto !important;
}
.top_featured_layout-slideshow .featured-top .grid-item {
display: none;
position: relative !important;
}
.top_featured_layout-slideshow .featured-top .grid-item.current {
display: block;
}
.content-singular {
display: block !important;
}
}
This should fix the issues on iPhone/iPad.

Thanks!!!
Hi Sarah,
To remove the read time and number of views from “continue reading” posts you can go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and copy-paste the code below there:
.featured-bottom .post-meta-min {
display: none !important;
}
After pasting click “Publish”. This should work
- Luke
Hi Luke, thanks for the reply—I’m not getting any results, though.
I’ve inspected the added styles to your website.
It seems like there’s a typo starting after the line with @media
Fixed styles below, you can replace them:
@media (max-width: 823px) {
figcaption { position: static !important; opacity: 1 !important; transform: none !important; display: block !important; }
}
.content-singular { font-size: 20px; color: #000; }
.featured-bottom .post-meta-min {
display: none !important;
}
Please let me know if this helps. Or contact me at support@major-themes.com
Hurray! Thanks for checking and catching the typo. Wonderful to have your help!
sorry this has been answered!!
Awesome
Hallo
I just uploaded the zip file of the theme and got this error message:
Unpacking the package… Installing the theme… The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet. Theme installation failed.
Hi mcgeownpaula,
The file you downloaded contains all files (documentation, demo data, child theme, etc.) You can unzip this package or download theme separately.
Hope this helps

Hi,
We’re very happy with the theme! Overall, it’s been easy to use and your support is great
One question: how to prevent the top 3 featured posts from repeating in the feed below? I’ve tried using the Customization: Content panel to set the Top Featured Category as my category “latest posts”, which has only 3 posts in it. I set the Bottom Featured Category to my category “newer posts”, which has all our other posts. But the top 3 posts still repeat in the feed below. Does this make sense? the site is https://lionsinthepiazza.com
Thanks!
Hi sarahjaneirvine,
In Appearance > Customize > Content > “Exclude Featured Categories from Home Page” – mark this checkbox and click “Publish”.
This should work
Please let me know if this helps.
- Luke
Yes, it did. When the Bottom Featured Category is set to “Hidden”, the feed below shows all the posts except the ones at the top. Perfect—THANKS!
Is it possible to edit the default settings for body text font size and color? (I’ve been doing it manually for every box, but it seems like there must be an easier way! The font itself is good, but we’d like it to be pure black and size “medium” (20 px)
Thanks!
Hi sarahjaneirvine,
Yes you can add use this code in Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS:
.content-singular {
font-size: 20px;
color: #000;
}
This should work
Another question for you…. How to modify settings for heading tags H1, H2, etc. WITHIN a post? I chose the font “Cinzel” on the Theme Options > Content menu, but it only applies to the landing page. I’d like to add subheadings within an article, but when I add a “heading” block, it comes out in “Bellefair”, which is my body-text font. Thank you as always!
It seems like an issue with WordPress editor only, because on the website the font for headings is displayed correctly.
So what really happens is when you add heading in editor the body font is used, but on the website everything shows up as it was intended to – Cinzel for headings/subheadings and Bellefair for body.
I will try to fix the headings font display in editor in the next version
- Luke
You are correct—I hadn’t looked at the preview yet
Hello again, My images are slightly blurry when I preview the post in desktop, tablet, and mobile views. They look sharp when I’m editing the block, so I’m not clear on whether the preview shows things roughly or I have a problem with the images. (In case you need the info, they block editor has them at 1200px high, width 1600-2000px. I’m using the plugin ShortPixel for compression, in lossy mode.) Also, I don’t see captions in the mobile view…? Thank you thank you!
Hi sarahjaneirvine,
To always display mobile captions you can use this code in Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS:
@media (max-width: 823px) {
figcaption { position: static !important; opacity: 1 !important; transform: none !important; display: block !important; }
}
Norway theme does not control the images size or image compression in any way. But I can check what plugin(?) is causing this, please email me your website URL at support@major-themes.com

It is multi language ?
Hi macdowell,
You can translate theme to any language using plugin Loco Translate: https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/
To make several languages available simultaneously you can use plugin WPML: https://wpml.org/
Hope this helps, please let me know if you have more questions
- Luke
Two questions about using a featured image:
1) Does the featured image have to be full size? I’d rather have it the same as all the other images in the post.
2) Is there a way to turn off the zoom in the post preview? It’s a cool feature, but we want to go minimal and static if possible.
Thanks again!
Hi sarahjaneirvine,
1. You can use the code below to make featured image maximum 700px wide (same as post width):
body.single .wrapper .singular-featured { max-width: 700px !important; }
2. To remove zoom on hover in featured posts:
.featured-top article .post-image-wrap .post-image-cover, .featured-bottom article .post-image-wrap .post-image-cover { transform: none !important; }
The code should go in Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS Don’t forget to click “Publish”.
Please let me know if this will work
- Luke
Yay! Thanks
You’re welcome! Please let me know if you will have more questions
Hi, I looked through previous comments for help on how to hide things like the author name and # comments. I copied this code you recommended into the CSS: .comments-closed, .post-author-bio, .post-category, .post-author, .comments-count, .post-date:before { display: none !important; } Perfect! What would I add to also hide the read time and # views? Thank you so much for your help!
Hi sarahjaneirvine,
Go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and copy-paste the code below there:
.post-meta-min { display: none; }
Click “Publish”.
This will hide the bottom meta information (Read time, views and number of comments).
Hope this helps
- Luke
Yes! Thanks for replying quickly and making it easy
I’m starting my first website (a travel blog) and this theme looks beautiful! I just want to check that it will work smoothly with Bluehost and Yoast SEO as well as other standard plug-ins …? Do you recommend any particular image compressors? Thank you so much!
Hello sarahjaneirvine,
Most standard plugins work well with Norway theme including Yoast SEO.
I recommend this plugin for compression: https://wordpress.org/plugins/webp-express/

I use Norway Theme for more than 6 years and I am very happy with it. But suddenly the whole slider is missing from the page and I don’t know why or how to get it back. What can I do to fix it? Thank you!
Hey Ece1,
Can you send me a message at support@major-themes.com with a link to your website?
I will help you fix this issue.

Hi, how do I add the header background? I found your replies from 3 years ago asking to navigate to appearance -> customise -> styling but there is no styling option available.. I can only choose the logo picture
Hi pawelpro,
This option has been removed for Norway v. 8, but in next version 9 i promise to bring it back.
I’ll send you an email soon with the styles to temporarily add the header background image.
- Luke
There is an issue with mobile formatting on the product page. Something is way too wide.
Your demo even shows the same issue.
Hello dealerpix,
Thanks for noticing this. Already working on fixing this issue. I will notify you when the updated version will be released.
You can also email me for a quick hotfix at support@major-themes.com

Hi there! I am writing for three little things that I find difficult to configure: 1. I have chosen the header “two” and created the main menu, but I get duplicate “about” and “contact” pages. It is as if they were by default. The logo doesn’t appear in the center exactly either. I don’t know how to make some items stay on the left and others on the right. 2. I have configured mailchimp to include the subscription as in the demo, it takes the styles, but the subscribe button is on the left and not in the center. How can I change this? 3. I would like to put locations as your demo. But I don’t know if it is a widget or what I have to do to make them appear with the place icon Thank you so much! Your theme is great!
Hi Sigundr,
1. You can create two menus in Appearance > Menus, add pages/categories to them and in “Display location” at the bottom assign first one for “Main Menu” and second for “Secondary Menu”
2. Please contact me at support@major-themes.com with a link to your website and i will help you with this.
3. The Widget is “Thumbnail Category Posts”, you can mark the “Travel Markers” checkbox inside it to display the “Locations”.
Please let me know if solutions #1 and #3 helped
- Luke
1 and #3 solved, and e-mail sent! Thanks!
Hi Author, we are enjoying your norway 8 theme. We wonder what is the best way to make the site multi-lingual. Is it a setting? Is there a plug in? Currently we have it in English, but we’d also like to have it in Dutch and Portugese.

Hi Sander,
I didn’t test any ML plugins with Norway theme, but you can try this one: https://wpml.org/
Please let me know if it will work for you

Hi, I activated Norway on my blog’s website a few days ago, and I’ve ran into several bugs.
1) Multiple pages have become too wide to view on mobile. 2) Featured images on new pages (and a few others) are cropped to squares and I cannot change it. 3) Even if select to show sidebar on pages at the Customize menu, the sidebar is gone.
Hello Asmoderan,
Thank you for your message!
I’m sure all the issues with your blog’s website could be fixed. Please contact me at support@major-themes.com
