I only see 2 differences:

1) Menu isn’t attached under [Appearance > Menus].

2) Footer doesn’t have social icons, yet. They can be configured under [Appearance > Widgets] (see docs).

1. Konzept is newer and has a bit better structure. However, the best structure is present in Daisho (and we’ll be moving Konzept and perhaps also The Agency to Daisho framework once it’s fully ready).

2. On pages – everything. In projects – Youtube, Vimeo, HTML5 videos (OGG, MP4 , WEBM). Featured slider – only HTML5 videos.

3. You’ll need to achieve what is described here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTML5_video and there are free HTML5 video converters available on the Internet. If you have 1080p interview in AVI format then you can convert it to HTML5 video formats and use in the theme. You can also upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and then use somewhere.

Can I have pages on my site that have a blank, full width template ?

Yes. You can pick some templates to the right under [Pages > Add New]. Standard, full width page is available.

I would use the support board but it seems not to work for people unless they make a purchase, which I’m not ready to do.

1b) That depends. You can disable one column but it’s recommended that you keep both.
1c) Left column lists pages and can be created under [Appearance > Menus]. Right column is created automatically and lists portfolio categories in alphabetical order.

2) It’s recommended to use image logo but text logo is also available.

3) No. It’s better to make it without sound at all.

4) I haven’t tested that but it should work fine. If not, it should be easy to fix.

5) In featured slideshow or project – yes. Other than that backgrounds support image or solid color.

6) No.

7) In featured slideshow – yes. In project – there are controls. As background – no.

8 ) No.

5,6,7,8) This is all possible with quick and minor mods.

9) They work normally or get disabled/hidden (especially we rather disable videos on iPhone because people often use it with paid internet).

10) I’m afraid that I don’t have more examples at this moment – some people decided to send them to us but the others didn’t.

11) It’s intended and it can be changed with simple code modifications.

12) You can use things like that on pages and in posts but fullscreen slideshow or homepage don’t have space for that. I would need more details, sketches or mockups to answer your questions here precisely.

I hope that helps In general – it will work exactly like demo does – we show all available skins and modes there. Some settings can be configured and are not shown or listed anywhere except documentation – you can check it, too. If something is not possible then it’s usually easy to be done with custom modification. On our support forum you can hire developers to help you with such modifications. It’s rather minimal theme, so not much more than what is present on demo is available there.

1) Headers are always partially covered by navigation and it’s intended. It can be adjusted relatively quickly with simple CSS tweaks. I can provide you the code on forum.

2) This is unfortunately technically impossible and won’t be possible in the near future. All media related to project are loaded while you are seeing “loading indicator”. If you need to see at least 1 image before loading is completed then loading would have to take place after clicking thumbnail and before seeing that image anyway. Please take a look at our other item – The Agency – it has done it this way but it was not really convenient because you see loading circle and nothing to read or look at for a few seconds. In Konzept it has been improved to instantly show text (but still – not any media).

3) It’s fullscreen portfolio solution, so we hide everything that may interrupt with media (images/videos) that you’re viewing.

4) Descriptions are available for each image and can be set in SuperSlide Editor (individually for each image).

5) Static arrows – again it’s not default setting but it can be adjusted quickly with CSS . There are full examples on support forum to do that.

6) I think that rating should be based on whether you received theme that looks and works like demo one and not on custom modifications to it because we are unfortunately not able to offer custom modification services as a part of your purchase but it’s obviously up to you because authors can’t even see what ratings are there and there is no feedback attached to them.

The new framework will only clean the code, make it faster, remove AJAX and add a few new features, so I think it’s not a significant difference for average user (that’s mainly focused on front-end) compared to what it has now.

The latest v1.0.4.3 addresses some improvements to IE9 (project view) but overall it’s already compatible with all major browsers and devices, so you can safely use it.

I can’t promise any exact dates but the framework is in the middle of development. What particular features are you looking forward?

Yes, there is a way to do that. Each slide can accept short description. It should work with HTML tags such as links. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Can I have some sketches of mockups? Is it supposed to be fullscreen welcome slider? Or something above/below thumbnails? Or something instead of thumbnails that leads to them? Can we discuss that on out support forum instead? You can also find there developers to create that for you.

Please try [Settings > Reading] but that depends on what you’re looking for – you can also create home.php and it will load before index.php.

Chrome 23 – not a single problem. They are going to release this version soon because it’s been in beta for a long time now. If it worked before then maybe you’ve installed some Chrome extension in the meantime? Can you also test in private browsing mode? Or some other mode that will disable all extensions etc.

Yes, you can just re-download it and update. If you have made any changes to files please do not update those files. And it would be great if you could not update “includes” folder as it contains uploaded images (please rename previous theme folder to “konzept-backup” on your server and install it again in “konzept” folder).

Thanks! Yes, it’s solved. In Chrome 18, 19, 20, 21 this problem didn’t occur. In Chrome 22 and 23 it appeared because of z-index changes (I think Chrome did it wrong now because it’s the only browser to calculate z-index auto like that). Demo has this solved and v1.0.4.2, too.

You can do it under [Portfolio > Add New]. Please first upload some thumbnail image and then pick its hover color to the right.

Much appreciated and sorry for getting a touch impatient! That answers my queries nicely – cheers. I missed that demo version with the slideshow, but yeah that looks great. Would perhaps only like the images to change automatically after say 5 secs, but this may well be an option already, or would be very easy to make happen I’m sure.

Sounds promising about the alterations I want to make, and there may well be a few more tweaks, but love the initial design so will go ahead and purchase. The ‘hire developer’ section could be useful, so cheers for making that known.

Yes, it’s very easy to be adjusted

Once you post in “hire developer” section someone will get back to you in 12-24h and then they’ll deliver your some mockups, discuss changes (e.g. what should happen on mobile phones with that) and finally code that. It’s mostly automated process where developer does everything for you and you only watch it happen.

You can do that – they behave more or less like normal pages They will stop being vertically centered if you put a lot of content there.

1) Yes, one of demo layouts show this – it’s possible.

2) Possible, rather easy, not very time consuming (1-3h) but some coding knowledge is required. It’s not something that requires complete restructuring but as you can imagine – there are many sub-pages, responsive mode, and Javascript that adjusts positions, so developer will have to make sure that each mode and each resolution works fine.

You can visit our “Hire Developer” section on forum once purchased if you need this done quickly and correctly. Good news is that those developers usually charge $50/h but in case of such HTML /CSS you can negotiate that (even to something like $20-$25/h because it’s just very simple… or at least it looks simple to me).
