It is a great theme, but I have an issue with the blog display order through Masonry. On two columns, it shifts the order of the fourth and fifth items and the seventh and eighth. A quick search suggests that items should not be absolutely positioned, as this messes up Masonry, but this theme is heavily dependent on absolute positioning for the items. When it shifts to single column the issue goes away.

How can I fix the extremely long load times on refresh? I read a comment saying that this was caused by the images coming from placeholder.it, and that it was going to be updated to placeholder.com in the theme. That comment was two years ago and has yet to be updated. Placeholder.com no longer exists (“bad gateway”).

the placeholder.com was bought by some warehouse rental company so those links don’t work anymore.
You can use: https://unsplash.it/700/400 . Just do simple find and replace (in any code editor) and change the links.
Also, unsplash.it uses ”/” between the dimensions and not a “x”.

When I checked from the browser, it appeared to be working on mobile, but the video doesn’t play when accessed from a mobile device. The WordPress version works smoothly on web, mobile, and tablet. some mobile phones and mobile browsers auto pause the videos that play in the background so the phone does not spend too much data.
There is not much you can do about it.

I bought a license for Definity a few years ago and built an HTML site using the templates. This is the purchase code: fd6b3879-fbb5-48af-bf72-795078cd4016 – 31 Oct 2017 REGULAR LICENSE
I’ve recently added a couple of dropdown menus to a couple of the navgation headings. These work fine when viewed on a desktop but don’t seem to work at mobile size.
I wondered if there is a fix for this?

in the main demo there is menu item (Blog) with dropdown that works correctly on mobile – https://themes.ajdeweb.com/definity-html/index-main-mp.html
You should inspect it and see how to apply it on your site correctly, your problem is incorect implementation of the basic (non mega menu) dropdown menu item.

Make sure you have the same version of the vendor files like in the demo.
Hi – I have made sure the vendor files are the same (downloaded the theme installation files again and used the vendor files from that download). This didn’t change anything.
Then I looked again at the coding of the menu and made sure it all matched the code in the link you gave above. Again nothing changed to make the dropdown work at mobile.
Then I tried removing the stylesheet I had added (which changes the fonts used in the site and a couple of colours). Removing the link to these styles still didn’t fix the issue.
I then tried replacing all the other css files from the theme download in case any of these had updated over the years. Still didn’t fix the issue.
So now I’m not sure what else to try and can’t think how to fix the issue. I can’t see anything that is different to the Link you gave above and the link I’m using and yet it works OK in your link but not in my one.
The demo does not have the problem that you are describing and I can’t tell you why your edits don’t work, only you can answer that.

HI! I’m having a problem with my hero-lead (header text) and the subheading text of the index-freelancer-op.html page that I used as my starting template. My text is sliding to the left and it gets worse as the media queries get smaller (i.e. on my iPhone 13). Probably because its resizing off of a percentage but I couldn’t find it in the responsive.css. I did change the layout order of the h1 header to go above the h4 header but that shouldn’t change the text alignment. I tried to reduce the font size and letter spacing but it didn’t help. Also, there is a little thin white indent happening on the right side of the entire site on the smaller screens. Is this something you could support? My site is live here:

the hero following class (.freelancer-hero .hero-content-wrapper) has padding-right: 50px – just remove it with your own media query for the smaller screen sizes – make sure the css file is included last.

this is the comment section for the HTML version of Definity item, you are using the WordPress version on your website.
First you need to set the page template to wp-bakery/visual-composer, not the default one that you have now, that will fix the page layout.
Also, update the theme to version 3.0 if you have not done it already.
The theme recommends instagram feed plugin (appearance > install plugins) that is supported (styled to work with the theme), other plugins are not supported.
Make sure you read the documentation that comes with the theme – this is explained in great detail in there.

Hi, the text mask is just an image, you can just go donwload it from the demo and add it in your project if is not there already.
Hi, is there any possibility to just duplicate one of the ready pages of the template? To create a new similar page within Wordpress? I cannot find any options in Wordpress to do that…
Or alternative create a template out of a ready page? All template saving options somehow seem to be blocked in my installation….

yes, there is a plugins that can duplicated pages or posts, also you can copy the markup for the visual composer (page builder) plugin and paste it on any page you like.

Hi, I’ve downloaded the latest version of the Definity Template, but when I open an html template, only the loading symbol appears and nothing else happens. I tried the latest Safari, FireFox and Google Chrome versions. Everywhere the same effect.

if you wait longer it will load – but this is not a solution.
The problem is caused by the placeholders images – the url http://placehold.it needs to be replaced with https://via.placeholder.com . I guess the company Placeholder.com let the domain placehold.it expire or it was take down, so now the templates waits too long to resolve that non exisitng url.
That can be fixed in few seconds with quick find and replace in any code editor – just replace http://placehold.it with https://via.placeholder.com
P.S. the template will be updated in near future to fix this problem.

Hello Viktor,
I am trying to edit the Definity (show your story) Revolution Slider, which you recently uploaded for me.
Please note that I am unable to remove the information on top of the video such as the Definity theme logo and the large empty VIDEO OP slider showing on top of the revolution slider which is meant to be filling the whole screen. I have been trying, in vain, to find my way in the WP dashboard and to choose an easy for beginners WP builder plugging to be able to access the revolution slider header menu upon having the video stretched as in here : http://nordicstarluxe.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=revslider&view=slide&id=1

all this things are edited in separate places and are not related and all this is explained in the Help File (documentation) with images.
- The logo is not in the slider, and is edited via the Dashboard > Theme Options > General.
- Slider – video, image, text etc. is edited via Slider Revolution plugin, Dashboard > Slider Rev. > name of the slider that is active. There you can set background (before video starts), on top of that you can set video background, also edit the text – Slider Rev. have their own documentation with all settings explained – link here.
- You don’t need to buy any plugin to use it that is bundled with the theme, you already have it – ignore any activation messages. But you are free to do whatever you want.
- If you don’t have experience with WordPress, you should hire a developer or someone to help – Envato Studio and Fiverr have great cheap options ($50-$100) that can do everything for you.

Hello, For some reason, the contact form doesn’t seem to work. I’ve checked the PHP file, and the correct information is on there per the documentation instructions. The file structure is the same as well. Do you have any advice?

This is an HTML template that includes complimentary contact form – in order this form to work you need to be on a live server, additionally, you need to make sure that your hosting/email provider does not block or black list the emails send, and lastly be sure to check the spam/trash folder.
Also, if all above is met, try with different email providers (gmail, hotmail, your domain email, etc.)

I’ve just checked the contact form on localhost and works as expected right from the box – you just need to add your email address in the contact-form.php file. – It shows confirmation after button click, errors on incorrect inputs, everything is working fine.
I would recommend to check the WordPress version of Definity – here, that does not require any coding skills.

I have a problem with Definity Elements plugin. When I activate it, the website crashes. I did all the updates in the hope that it would go away, but not.

Recommended PHP version of the theme is PHP 7.4, it might only crash if you use PHP 8+ on your server. Other than that, it a user created bug.
Check what php version your server uses, if its 8 go to 7.4 – 8 is not recommended for WordPress.
