The latest version of the theme is compatible with the PHP 8.0. The compatibility with the newer versions has not been added yet, so we can’t guarantee compatibility. The theme is supported and will continue to be updated. At the moment, we don’t have an ETA for the update’s release.

Hi, I have EldritchVersion 1.7 as the theme, but Eldritch ChildVersion 1.0.2 is installed and activated.

Since the active version is child 1.0.2, can I upgrade to PHP 8.0 or not?

I’ll look into your above article. But even after a clean install and all plugins being up to date I received the below notification just hours after install. Is there some unknown vulnerability in the theme or elsewhere??

When updating theme and plugins we recommend following steps described in this article – How To Update A WordPress Theme And Plugins.

After you update the theme all of the bundled plugins with available updates should be listed in Appearance > Install Plugins. It is important to also update Edge Core plugin there to the latest version.

Thank you for your reply. I was in the process of building the site (rebuilding actually but that was from a server move and such) when all this happened. So for now we have taken the site down until the end of the month when we can put more focus on it. But will be using this theme for it for sure.

Also, how do you edit the footer or sidebar on pages? “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” is what I get whenever I go to Widgets.

In case that you are running latest WordPress version, please note that we haven’t tested our theme with WP 5.9 yet, however you can try using this plugin as a temporary solution if you run into issues with widgets on the latest WordPress version.

WP 5.8 introduced block based widgets feature, so we do recommend using this plugin which reverts widgets back to classic as a temporary solution until we add compatibility with block based widgets.
