Hello, I bought a Skrollex theme for WordPress but I can use it because I have this message:

Can you explain what going on, please? Where and which is the parent theme?

Try deactivating all plugins. Or post full error message from error log so that I can tell exactly what the cause of the problem is. Ask your hosting provider where to see the error log or use plugins to view the error log. Most likely the problem is caused by some plugin or settings. One user had this error with Contact Form 7, but it may be related to any other plugins and may depend on your settings.

Hello, I am now logged in under the account that I purchased this theme per your request. As mentioned in my last message under UTalmor, I am the account owner of the site, and logged in as the admin, so I don’t understand your response: ” To change the color scheme, you should be logged in as admin. Also check your permissions to edit theme files. If you have this permissions, you should have “Appearance/Theme Editor” in the admin panel.”
I am logged into my dashboard as an ADMIN and do see Appearance, then can click on Themes, but there is no Theme Editor. I am definitely not seeing the ability to change the header colors that you are doing in your video. What should I do?
If you don’t see Theme Editor, then most likely someone removed your rights to edit the theme. This could be done via some plugin, and if the plugin was later deactivated, then the rights might not be restored. Or it could have been done by the hosting provider or someone else.
If you have a clean install of WordPress and the rights for admin are not limited by anyone, then when you open the front-end and see a black admin-bar above the page, then you should see the gear icon on the left, as you can see on my video and with it you can edit the color scheme. And you will see Appearance/Theme Editor in this case.
I am trying to embed a YouTube Video into a column and it is not working to “embed media from external sites”, nor “add media” as described in your video on embedding video. I do exactly as the video shows but no video shows up. Help.
If you have problems with video embed service, just turn on editor to source mode and copy/paste embed code from YouTube or from other video hosting which offered for your video.
Thanks for the theme, I have watched all of your videos and I am not able to customize the header or menu color from the default brownish color for the color scheme of colors-preset-Mary.css (or any other color theme for that matter) .I am not seeing the ability to see any custom color codes that is showing up in your demo videos. I have admin rights, am the owner, and have no idea how to edit the color from the default header, and also menu highlight from that brown to a GOLD color. This has been really frustrating. The color red brown (in each header, and highlighted menu word) is in conflict with my logo which is gold.

background video not working on phone site is at http://luminous.visual-impact.net/ Originally, I had the video hosted in WordPress in the Media folder. The video did not work on iPhone (Safari or Chrome browser) but worked fine on desktop, on iPad and on Android phone I saw in the comments a similar problem where you suggested using YouTube to host the video. I tried that, except now it doesn’t work on iPhone or Android phone
I recommend using YouTube videos and setting alternative image in the options. In this configuration, instead of the video, an alternative image will be displayed on all mobile devices. Unfortunately, there is no other solution in the current version of the theme.

Seems like the theme is no longer supported using Wordpress 6.1.1 and PHP 8.1. Will you be able to help me when I renew my support or are you going to update the theme soon?
The theme can be run on WordPress 6.1.1 and PHP 8.1. If you enable Debug Mode, it will display debug information and break the page. Disable Debug Mode if you have it enabled. You must also have the latest version of the theme installed and the fixed version of Layers, which can be downloaded at the link in the theme’s current documentation.
Thank you for your answer. The latest version of the template is/was installed as well as the layers 2.0.10.fixed version from the documentation. The error message in layers preview mode shows:

As I’m not a coder this is beyond my capabilities for bugfixing. Would be grateful if you could help me further as I don’t want to change the theme & website.
By the way: This only happens when php 8.1 is activate – php 7.4 works without any problems but since my hosting-provider charges me extra money for maintaining php 7.4. I have to upgrade to php 8.1. I’ve als checked different browsers like chrome, safari and opera… the problem happens in every browser and no content of my website shows up.
Debug mode within wp-config.php is/was disabled as well. I’m going to ask the support of the hosting provider – maybe there is something “hidden” active that I can’t solve by myself.

Solution found:
Given that layers 2.0.10.fixed version has already been installed on my server I tried a lot and finally fixed the issue myself by performing these steps:
- first activate PHP 8.1 on server - download layers 2.0.10. from layerswp.com - upload layers 2.0.10. (even it is installed) via FTP/FileZilla & command to completely overwrite the existing layers 2.0.10.installation. Sidenote: Layers for Elementor does not work with this template!
Happy I fixed the issues and site lately works with PHP 8.1.
Is there somewhere I can find a list of the linecon codes so I can change the icons in the demo to something else? I did a quick google search and couldn’t find anything like font awesome has. Thanks.
I also can’t get the Font Awesome icons to work, either.
Another issue – in the page builder, the “duplicate” function for columns in the sections is not working at all.

Unfortunately duplicate is not worked due to bug in Layers or in it’s depends. I will consider fixing this issue with theme code in future updates.

I have installed the Scrollex theme and activated the Lynda preset, but images do not seem to be being installing with this.

Images should load and no additional settings are required for this. Most likely there was a discussion that if the provider restricts network connections for PHP code, then this can cause problems. To say exactly what the reason is, you need to look at the error messages that are written to the error log at the time the page was created. Ask your hosting provider where to look at the error log. Or try using WordPress plugins to view the log files, but they usually work if the log file is located in one of the typical places or require you to specify the path to the log file in the settings.
Thanks! I found a solution that seems to have worked fine for me. I simply uploaded the image files manually to the media library and now when I generate a new page, the images all just show up and work as expected.

Layers Pro is not required and is not supported. All theme features available without this extension. Layers Pro is proposed by Layers developers, but it is may be needed only for other themes. All what you can see on Skrollex demo is available without Layers Pro.
Hi there, I’m interested in purchasing the Skrollex light video version for WP Layers. I’m wondering when I scroll down it is the same video that is showing up several times. Is it possible to have different videos in different sections further on down the page?

The background video is set for the entire page. You can try using third-party plugins that allow you to set a video for a section. In pages that are created using Layers or from theme presets, you can use plugins that work as shortcodes. In pages that are created in the standard WordPress editor, you can use plugins that work as blocks.
I want to duplicate the page but couldn’t do that? can you help me how to do it or how to copy specific section to another page ?
There are several plugins for this purpose, but the theme has not been tested with them and Skrollex users reported that at least some of them didn’t work correctly. Layers has a function to export and import pages via json format. But it was only available in the old WordPress editor. To open the page in the old WordPress editor, you need to temporarily disable the Gutenberg editor. There is a plugin for this in the WordPress repository.
Also, you can create the pages in the theme using the standard WordPress block editor (called Gutenberg). In it you can copy blocks using the standard Copy/Paste functions, but it will be available only in such pages. It is not available in the pages which created via theme presets.

I have a problem on the Skrollex theme with the background video and the replacement image (data-alternative) that does not display on mobile, for example on iphones. I get a black background instead of the video/image. Do you know a way to solve this problem, by displaying the background video on IOS with autostart and loop or by creating a generic image that would work on all devices?

It appears that the current version of Skrollex replaces the video with an alternate image for YouTube videos only and does not work correctly for backgrounds is hosted as a file on a web server. I will try to fix this in the next version of Skrollex. In the current version, I recommend placing the video on YouTube. Also keep in mind that Vimeo hosting does not solve this issue.

Theme hasn’t been tested with this plugin, but I see that it currently displays videos on your site.
When I make edits (My site > Appearance > Customize > Edit layout > name of my site body) to make edits and then I say it is not updating to the live site. Do you know how I can fix that?
It’s most likely due to caching. Try clearing the cache on the server or disabling caching plugins.

In SX Background Video, you cannot specify that the image is displayed specifically on a mobile device, but you can set an Alternative Image that will always be displayed when the video cannot be displayed due to browser restrictions. Most often this happens on mobile devices.

If you have the latest version of Skrollex, then it should work ok, but you must have the version of Layers, which should be downloaded from the link in the current documentation. If you have a different version of Layers installed, then similar problems will occur.
