Hey borcherj, Are you using a recent release of the theme? If your server was recently upgraded to use a newer version of PHP, you would also need to be on a modern version of Salient (14+). The current release is 15.0.8.

Since you’re updating from a version prior to when the Salient plugins were added, I would suggest reading through this if you haven’t already used a recent release of the theme: https://themenectar.com/docs/salient/important-salient-update-for-new-envato-requirements/

Other than being aware of that information, you should be fine to do the upgrade easily so long as you don’t have template overrides in your child theme. If you do, those will need to also be updated to reflect the current parent versions.

I think that approach is good if you want the content the same everywhere. Unless I’m missing something.

But let’s say I have a custom post type called “Show” that represents a show being performed at a theatre. It’d have a name, a director, show dates/times, a description, a poster, etc…

Ideally, I can create a template that would display each Show that’s been created in the same layout but with each Show’s own data/images/etc…

Can the method you mentioned above do that?

There’s no ability to add dynamic data into the Salient elements from within the page builder yet. Currently, the only element that would allow you to pull in data from a custom source would be the Post Grid. However, that would be applicable to what you’re looking for.

Unfortunately there’s no built-in options to create that kind of an animation within the megamenu as of now. Accomplishing that would require custom development from within a child theme.

Hey jtran9, those versions of PHP and WordPress are both supported. Can you confirm that you also updated the Salient page builder to the latest version as well (6.9.1)? You will need an active support license in order to use the forum.

Hello, thank you for the reply, my Salient page builder is the latest, 6.9.1. I am currently in discussion with a support ticket. GoDaddy (my WP hosting) claims that nothing is wrong with the server configuration, but errors are due to theme and plugin of Salient.

Enabling the Infinite Scroll option does not remove those pages from being automatically created from WordPress. The infinite scrolling actually pulls in the data which exists on those pages in order to render the next set of posts.

In order to prevent those archives from getting indexed in search engines, you could use an SEO plugin such as Yoast which provides options for that.

That movement is occurring due to custom CSS you’ve added into your child theme stylesheet. To completely remove the hover effect, you’ll also need to add in the following CSS:

body #header-outer #social-in-menu a:hover i {
  transform: none;
}

Hey C_Drosos, All of those items are possible with Salient except for the “extra tab” added on WooCommerce single products. You would need to add that via your child theme or through a plugin.

Hey lfranken, I’m glad to hear you’ve been enjoying working with Salient!

It looks as though you’ve supplied an .mp4 file to the .webm field. Doing that could cause loading issues on mobile devices, since the file type is mismatched. You actually don’t need a dedicated .webm file anymore to playback on mobile devices, so you can simply just remove that, leaving the .mp4 only.

I am able to see it load on mobile now from my end, however, some loads are taking longer than others to start playing. The video supplied is pretty large for a background video (19mb). I would suggest also compressing that to be under 4mb or ideally even smaller. Other than that, can you confirm that your mobile device does not have any power saving mode active? Power saving modes typically prevent videos from autoplaying.

Global sections assigned to theme locations will not render on a page set to use the “Page Full Screen Rows”. This is because pages in that mode turn into a vertical slider based solely on rows within the page builder. However, you can still call global sections as needed on a page using that option through the “Global Section” page builder element. e.g. https://ibb.co/CmLDjrm

Those are short videos which were created in After Effects. We created some of the layers first in Photoshop and then exported to After effects for the animation.

The theme page builder element being used to trigger those videos to play by scrolling through each section is called “Sticky Media Sections”.

1. Salient doesn’t add breadcrumbs by default. If you’re seeing those, they could be coming from an option within an SEO plugin such as Yoast SEO.

2. Can you share a page URL where you’re trying to remove the title so I can see what you’re referring to? I’m currently unsure if you’re referring to the post single template or regular pages within your site.
