The Flex Slider used in this theme supports Vimeo Videos. You can also insert multiple Vimeo videos inside same slider. YouTube is not supported because when multiple videos are inserted, they all play at once without pausing others.

For a video slide, you can use this short code:

Where src=”” parameter is the video ID on vimeo.com. For example: http://vimeo.com/39683393

Since Flex Slider is a ‘Responsive’ slider, video will automatically inherit 100% width, and auto height. If you wrap the slider short code inside any column shortcode, for example [half], it will automatically inherit available width. So, width will always remain 100% and height will be adjust in proportion.

In order to set a product as “Featured Product”, navigate to WooCommerce Products > Products. In front of each product list, there are star icons. If you click on that icon, it will turn into a dark grey star. (Which means the product is set as featured).

You can also set it as featured by clicking on the “Quick Edit” link on product list, and enabling the “Featured Product” checkbox inside that.

Once you have set 3-4 products as featured, they will automatically appear in place where you have used the [featured_product] short code. I hope that will help.

Product categories can be shown using the [product_categories] short code. You can add this short code inside a carousel for a scrolling list of 8 items. For example:

1. WooCommerce supports only image thumbnails for shopping products and image galleries. Videos can be inserted inside product description, but may not appear in place of image thumbnails.

2. Yes, videos can be added to product description. If you wish to show videos separately inside a tab, that can be done using WooCommerce video product tab plugin.

3. Yes, advertisements can be added using a ‘Text Widget’ inside any of the available widget areas. The theme supports widget areas inside header section (right side of logo), sidebar, and the secondary area (just above the footer).

For videos, if you wish to show non-shopping product galleries, you can make use of the blog template. That supports video thumbnails using video post formats.

The theme supports only one sidebar (either in left or right side). But for your requirement, there can be a workaround. You can use Widgets on Pages plugin and insert widgets inside a column short code in your page. For example:

[one_fourth]
- widgets from plugin here -
[/one_fourth]

[three_fourth_last]
- other content -
[/three_fourth_last]

Using one_fourth and three_fourth short code, you can organize widgets on left side, below the slider. Whereas on right side, rest of the site content and default sidebar will appear. I hope that will help.

Shop product thumbnails are reduced in size from main product image via CSS. It may not appear as crispy as original image. You can check image settings inside WooCommerce > Settings > Catalog > Image Options. Make sure the single product image is at least 370px or more. You can also enable hard crop mode if you wish to.

Further, while setting a featured image, make sure you choose the “full-width” option, and not medium or small. If none of these works, kindly send me your site URL at xconsau[at]gmail[dot]com.

Yes it is fully compatible with latest version of WordPress (3.5) and WooCommerce (1.6.6). As shown on live demo, no third party extensions are used for shopping features except WooCommerce.

Other plugins used are WP Page Navi for pagination, and Contact Form 7 for optional contact form demo.

In recent release of WooCommerce (1.6.6), there was a fix for variation attribute saving issue. If using latest version of WC, you can reset and clear transient cache inside WooCommerce > System Status > Tools. Click on “Clear Transients” and “Reset Capabilities”. This may fix the problem.

You can also test by creating a fresh new product and assigning some variations. If variations are not linked properly, or not set properly with each property, it may not show the button. I hope clearing the cache will solve the issue.

Shopping features can be disabled in two ways:

1. By not using the WooCommerce plugin. If there is no plugin, the site will be a normal Corporate theme with blog, portfolio and other features. You can use portfolio templates to show case your products.

2. By using WooCommerce plugin, but hiding shopping elements like accounts bar on top-right corner, price labels, add-to-cart buttons, etc. These can be done using simple display:none CSS hack. I can help you with that.

You can also use a WooCommerce extension—Catalog Visibility Options. This can provide more options for hiding shopping cart and allowing only authenticated users to shop.

If featured products are shown in carousel, they will reside in one single row. You can have multiple rows by removing the carousel short code. For example:

[featured_products per_page="12" columns="4" orderby="date" order="desc"]

This short code will generate 3 rows of 4 items each. If the same short code is wrapped within [carousel] short code, they will all reside in same row.

The “Offset” parameter is not supported in [featured_products] short code. Otherwise that could be used to skip particular number of featured products in another carousel.

This may happen with default twentyten theme too. As I mentioned earlier, the theme doesn’t override any core functionality of the plugin. Those drop-down options are generated via plugin. I’m waiting if they release an update for WP3.5.

That could be related to the plugin, as we are not overriding any core functionality of the plugin. It may also happen if you are choosing “barefoot” from first drop-down and leaving second one unset. In that case, the form drop-down will show all options active. I have tested with different configurations, and it seems to disable other options appropriately.

Kindly let me know if this doesn’t work with choosing different options.
