Hey there, thank you for the update 6.0
Some quick notes:
1) Load speed seems increased significiantly, bravo.
2) While updating with child theme, seems like we lose some settings, better to export settings before, beware.
3) After all these updates, we still do not see same typography settings in post editor, Gutenberg is here and not going so we must be able to see same fonts and setting on backend inside post/page editor.

1/ Yes, that’s the main point. In fact, the speed is main point of entire updates. To improve the speed we must update everything in the core. It’s like you place a Ferrari engine into your Toyota Corolla. There’s lot of things to do.
2/ Yes, we have to restructure entire theme so some CSS classes will be lost and some HTML tags are changed. Any body using child theme with heavy customization should be aware. However, we’d love to help if anyone needs on child theme.
3/ In fact because there’s many works so we decided to maintain this feature for a while to make this update. The new update comes with a new font loading and CSS engine to make it more efficient and faster. We haven’t had time to bring it to backend editor yet but don’t worry, almost previous features will be back in the next few updates.

The post grid widgets unable to fetch data when I specify category specific but fetches data if I don’t specify any category and gets recent updated post from both multi language posts.

I have figured out the issue. The problem was I was selecting the secondary language’s category to fetch data. I have learned that for every language, you must select the default language’s post category.

Is it correct that the min. width of the page is 800px? I’m running the geometry style and whatever I try I am stuck to 800px (560px post + 200px sidebar + a little borders and stuff)
Is there no way to change it? I’m thinking about some micro blog style…

Yay, cool! Just updated to Version 6.0 … but my blog post content is gone. The style is now like a list of the blog post titles. I’m searching the option to change that but whether it’s too early in the morning and I do not see it, it’s hidden very well, or….

Hm, looks like my entire weblog has a huge hickup now. Had to take it offline for the moment. The archive widget has the wrong font, the footer is too close to the sidebar, the header is gone. Guess I have some work to do next weekend.
So I found the style issue. It’s no longer available. The only options I see now are Grid, List, Masonry, Group 1, Carousel, Custom Sidebar, Page Context and HTML Shortcode.

Hmm, Yes the Fox 6.0 version reduced number of layouts to fewer but in fact, it’s more customizable and less confusing. From those essential layouts, you can build all other layouts in v5.5.

So I made the text area a bit smaller, but the sidebar width doesn’t change. It’s feels a bit too wide next to the smaller post area. Any plans to resize it too?

Can we install this theme without using elementor plugin
I’m trying to fix the mobile header, but it seems like I need to upgrade to Elementor pro to make that happen. I deactivated the plugin and now my site is blank. I purchased this for the magazine theme, but without Elementor it doesn’t work.

Which demo are you using? Depending on the demo, some needs Elementor and some doesn’t. But none of them requires Elementor Pro, I guarantee.

I opened a ticket there already. The look to my site, that I worked on for a couple of weeks is gone, but somehow it’s in the elementor library.
I left a couple of messages on your ticketing system today. I have not heard back yet. I need help with this or I will be forced to purchase another theme. My site does not look right.
What is the process for obtaining a refund? The theme I purchased doesn’t match its advertisement. It relies significantly on the Elementor plugin, which I usually don’t mind. However, the issue arises from the fact that this specific theme can’t be customized without Elementor. The fact that Elementor requires an additional fee wasn’t advertised, and attempting to uninstall Elementor results in disabling my site. I was sold a theme created on Elementor, but it doesn’t function without it.

Hmm as I see your site is still in version 5.x. To make it 6.x, you need to go to Dashboard > Fox Magazine > Update to v6.0 then hit the update button.

Hi!, I changed the theme in my site to try some courses but went back to Fox and now I can’t activate the fox frame plugin it keeps saying “Plugin not activated. For Customizing ▸ Blog / Archive / Archive Layouts, how do I modify how the archives for custom post types will render? It seems they default to list with excerpts.

Unfortunately It seems there’s no options now. We’ll consider to add an option for this in the future. At the moment, It takes same archive layout as Archive option there. If you have only 1 post type archive to show, there’s no problem because you can use that archive option.
For posts, most important archives are category, author and tag. They have their own options for those layouts.

2. Hide the archive title of all or any specific custom post type.
Hopefully via CSS (which is a favorite quick fix of many developers).
Clarification: I want to hide the post title for a specific custom post type on the single post page only, not from archive listings or post navigation.

Hi there… since I only imported the style (Original), it seems some icon images are broken (for example, the previous/next icons for the slider/carousel). Which files do I need to import and where do I put them?

May I have your site URL please? You don’t need to do anything. Everything is included in the theme file. If thoese images are broken, they’re broken from some other reasons. If you set https incorrectly, It can be 1 reason that those icons are not loaded correctly.

It’s ignoring anything i put in the custom post type field and will only allow me to display or exclude categories which I don’t use because everything in my site is custom post types.
oddly enough the other areas are letting me specify CPT values and displaying them accordngly.
okay, i had to delete the imported section (Big Post) and create one from scratch. After doing that, the CPTs are being scooped up

We’re still working on v5.6, It’s a major update that enforces The Fox theme significantly so it takes longer time.
Regarding Guard demo if The Fox theme, I think it’s no problem to use. It’s a common pratice to design something similar and to be inspired by some famous site and you’ll find a lot of that on Envato and elsewhere: Nytimes, Apple iOS (The 7), Material google design, Microsoft Metro design..

How can i edit Homepage with Elementor? cant find Edit with elementor option.

Could you provide me with your site URL? Here’s few reasons:
1/ The demo you imported doesn’t have Elementor homepage (only few demos) but It used FOX homepage builder. You can check by clicking “Elementor” tab on this landing page to see all Elementor demos listed there.
2/ Please go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading to check. If you’re displaying blog posts rather than a specific page for front page then the homepage is not a page hence there’s no Elementor edit button.
3/ Your page didn’t enable Elementor yet. Please try to edit the page, you’ll see a button “Edit with Elementor” in the backend.
4/ Elementor is not installed yet. Please check Dashboard > Plugins.
If that’s not the case, please open a ticket here, we’ll help you further.

Please go to Customize > DESIGN > Layout, you’ll see options for padding, margin, border there. That yellow border is from the border option, I guess from the screenshort you provided.

By default, the options for 404 page is very limited, you can find them in Customize > Misc panel. There’s 2 other ways:
1/ Install some 404 page plugin. Using keyword “page 404 plugin”, you’ll find a lot.
2/ Using FOX Block + Elementor: Here’s the guide. You can create a FOX Block then assign it as Page 404.

Apologize for the delay in your response. Please look at this photo:
https://prnt.sc/m7qLShQeVFVRGo to Customize > Blog/Archive > General then choose “Elementor” for “Archive Layout Type”. Then you can assign FOX Block for page 404.
Don’t worry about others. Other areas (archive, category, single..) won’t be affected if they’re not assigned to anything.
