Ever since I updated to Salient Version 16.0.4, the cover overlay in Row Settings no longer appears on top of background images in my layout. How can I get the gradient to appear again as it had before?
Hey gammo, Since there’s no known issue with the row overlay feature in v16, I would need to see the URL where that’s occurring in order to assist.

Hey gammo, thanks for the URL. Yes, this seems related specifically to the mouse based parallax option. You can correct it on your end by adding the following snippet into the custom CSS box located in the Salient options panel > General Settings > CSS/Script related tab:

That issue is actually related to the core standalone Redux framework plugin update—They have recently removed backwards compatibility with older versions (which we use) of the framework. However, we have just released a fix for it in the latest version of Salient 16.0.4

Hey, Love your theme, there are some adjustments that can be implemented with next update, that will fix the Google Speed: 1. Links do not have a discernible name: Team Members: div.team-meta > div.nectar-cta > span.link_wrap > a.link_text 2. In that section also Job Position is H5, and the Name is H3, which creates an issue: Heading elements are not in a sequentially-descending order — only for the overlay BIO and Meta Under — the order is reversed.

Hello, if i have a banner image (full width) and I want a column block with for ex. blue bg color and some white text and a button.I want the column to be at the bottom overlapping the image. I also want the column to have crooked lines same as this website: https://www.share-now.com/nl/nl/. Is this possible within wpbakery or need custom css?

That could be achieved by using the page builder. You could use absolute positioning for the column to position in like that as well as an SVG shape shape on the background layer of the column with a custom supplied image get that jagged display. I tried what u said but which size do i have to use for an svg image. When I use an svg image its too big or too small. When I fix it on a desktop its not responsive at 1000 to 1500 px. advanced padding is not working for that part. It also not stay in the middle. I am using a inner row with 3 columns and only use the middle one.

I want to use a newer version of the Font Awesome, I’ve downloaded their plugin and switched to pro version. But it seems like the old legacy font awesome css is loading and overwriting styles. How can I remove the old fonts? I’ve tried the enqueque style code provided on your website, but I want to do it on a main (not child) theme. How can I achieve that?

It’s never recommended to edit the parent theme directly. Using a snippet from your child theme can still handle altering any script/stylesheet in the parent. FA could be removed from the parent by using this in the child: https://pastebin.com/KhLPRQss

Hi guys! Honestly I LOVE your theme, especially for the care in the design and I have used it for several years. However I currently have serious problems with loading times on my site, even though I use webP images and two types of caches (varnish, W3TC) I have tried 10 plugins to minify the CSS and JS without success. I can’t use W3 minification because it breaks the page (no matter the configuration). At this moment I have 5 seconds of waiting just for lack of minification. The theme is up to date and the page has just been refreshed from scratch. I don’t know what else I can do. Can you advise me how I can lower these times please? How do you achieve the loading times you have? The pages are similar in content. THANK YOU!

Having a multi-second delay would not be caused by lack of minification—that sounds like something in your setup is putting a lot of strain on the server setup. I would recommend that you take a look through our performance optimization guide in the docs here: https://themenectar.com/docs/salient/performance-optimization-guide/ and try to disable your third-party plugins to see if you can find any causing a performance issue.

Would be great if under “Typography” > Navigation & Page Header > Default Theme Font Functionality – you could pull in the font into wordpress and host directly from the theme (server) without pulling it from google. For GDPR reasons. and no need to install another plugin or CSS anything for local font hosting.

Hello, please add native browser share button, plugin social salient is very basic. Question: Global section: In the footer I have a title with h1 or h2, it would be bad to repeat it for all the pages, can you have a different one per page? Like similar Elementor.

Thanks for the request.
It’s generally recommended to logically order your heading tags, so an h1 in the footer area wouldn’t follow that guideline.
If you wanted to use a different global section on each page then you would have to do so by placing the Global section page builder element on each page.

Hey tonevski, Salient follows the same recommended guidelines as WordPress: Minimum 7.4, Minimum Recommended PHP 8.0. Currently, Salient also offers full PHP 8.1 compatibility as well.

Hey toolbox101, the images will expand to size inline with whatever size text you’ve specified. If you want to push past that boundary, you’ll need to add in some CSS such as:

I’m not 100% sure but I think I found a bug that wasn’t there before. It seems like the custom line width settings on the divider (small line) are broken and doesn’t work. Doesnt matter what value I type in, the width stays the same.
Here is an example of the line (gradient line in the upper section of the page) but it behaves like this even on a blank page with only just the line… https://www.gurskydesign.com/about-me/Could you please take a look at it if it’s a bug?
There’s also some other weird thing happening lately and I’m not sure where it comes from. When I’m for example on the work or blog page the menu item is selected how it should be (underlined). Whenever I select a portfolio item or a blog item and open it, the menu item is not selected anymore (no underline). 1. Make sure that you’ve included a unit on your width i.e. 90px pr 90vw etc.
2. The only way that your “Blog” menu item would get highlighted when on a single post is if you had that page specified as the “Posts” page in the WP admin > Settings > reading. However, you could also make it show as active with a custom CSS rule:
.single-post #header-outer #top #menu-item-3924 a .menu-title-text:after {

The new Mag demo utilizes the post loop builder ( formerly known as the post grid ) to create all of the layouts instead of the legacy “Blog” element. That’s really the thing to note.
You can find all of the sections of the Mag demo in the Salient Studio template library to easily play around with

Are you receiving an error when attempting to upload the image or are you just not seeing it reflect on your website? If you’re using the transparent header effect, ensure that you’ve also uploaded those versions of your logo to the Salient options panel > header navigation > transparent header effect tab.

Hi Salient Team, I noticed a small bug, or I’m doing something wrong without realizing (more likely the case). When using Split Line Heading and using 2em for both the size of the desktop and mobile versions, the text overlaps, doubling up on itself rather than continuing to the next line…

Have you specified a line height for the text as well? e.g. entering in a responsive unit-less size such as “1.4” should prevent that from occurring. If that doesn’t correct it, kindly share the page URL so that I can take a look to assist.
