Hi, caution new buyers! Please read before buying this minimog theme and make your own informed judgement/decision of buying this theme.
This is my 100% honest review after interacting with the author during several instances on behalf of my clients on their official support mentioned in the theme description.
It seems like this minimog theme’s best features are via their Foxify app which is provided for only 6 months for free. The best features such as product recommendations, upsells, sales-boosting, & theme manager features are fully not available inspite of buying minimog theme “unless” we continue to keep Foxify app license active after 6 months “by paying monthly upto $79!”. I have listed all the limitation below. I have read & screened through all the comments here and everytime anyone asks for this specific question such as “what happens to all the features after 6 months of free Foxify app? or will we still have all the features shown in Minimog demo page?” the author will always dodge the question by asking us to chat/contact them directly. They will never admit that minimog comes with several limitation here in comments. It seems like this minimog theme is more or less just a skin. The foxkit app is anyway free on shopify app store if you need those basic features in minimog that they will keep active after 6 months! If you would like to use all features shown in the minimog demo, then be prepared to become a monthly paying subscriber to Foxify app after 6 months of free usage. I’m 100% sure, my comment will be blocked or the author will doge this, rather than replying with a direct confirmation putting an end to all of this by simply admitting this honestly: “yes, when you buy minimog theme, all the features what we have shown in the demo including the key features like upsells, sales-boosting, & theme manager features will be forever free and need not pay monthly subscription to Foxify app in order to keep using all features that are demoed in minmog demo page”. Instead, this author will always twist & turn this and confuse the buyer. If you dont subscribe, then you will have such high wall of limitations that it feels minimog is useless without foxify app which is so contradictory to what they show in minimog demo.
I have listed few major redflags that I observed. After 6 months, you will see those great features such as: “product bundle” feature will be limited to 1, “volume discounts” feature will be limited to just 1, “pre-purchase offers” feature will be limited to just 1, showing “related products” feature will be limited to just 1, the “size-chart” feature will be limited to just 1, the “pre-order products” offers feature will be limited to just 1, the “free-shipping goal” that comes from sidebar will removed! and the list goes on!
I wish someone had warned me about such decoy practices. The minimog demo is fantastic but if you fall for the demo, then you will be a “forever” monthly paying subscriber for foxify app post 6 months.. paying anywhere upto $79 every single month! This was my honest comment trying to keep folks like me well informed & make informed judgements. I’m writing this to get a honest “straight forward & direct” reply from the author than twisting & turning all the details once again.
Dear author: can you please confirm if I purchase minimog theme, would I be able to use all the features shown in minimog demo without any conditions or limitations (such as number of products, number of pages, etc) forever and not get into the trap of foxify app’s monthly subscription plan? I repeat to make it very clear: “without any limitations on all of the features that you have shown in the minimog demo pages, can I continue to get all demoed features in minimog if I dont subscribe to your other foxify app after 6 months?”

Can you really confirm with no dodging any points in the questions about the following feature is available completely free forever along with minimog without buying any foxify app subscritpion? These below features are actually listed in the minimog.co demo page.
1. No limits/restrictions on Product Bundles feature?
2. No limits/restrictions on Quantity discount feature?
3. No limits/restrictions on Pre-purchase upsell feature?
4. No limits/restrictions on In-cart recommendations feature?
5. No limits/restrictions on Free-shipping goal feature?
6. No limits/restrictions on Countdown timer feature?
7. No limits/restrictions on Promotion popup & Sales notifications features?
8. No limits/restrictions on Size chart feature?
9. No limits/restrictions on Stock coutdown feature?
Are you sure about no limitations or no restrictions on all the features listed in your minimog demo page? In simple terms: After six months all the above features will work “without any restrictions or any limitations” without subscribing for any additional monthly payment? Are you sure that all of this will be free forever when anyone purchases minimog shopify theme?

See this is the problem with the theme author’s replies.. I’m highly disappointed at this stage.. (yet hopeful that they will address my genuine concerns before the purchase)... I have asked here 9 simple Yes or No questions.. But the theme author seems to beat around the bush and not answer to those 9 points specifically.
The author has only addressed the difference between FoxKit, Foxify, etc and seems like they have again escaped from answering to those 9 points clearly questioned!
Instead of explaining other things, the theme author could straight forward address each of the 9 points asked above.
The reason why I am asking for the clarification is because its not clear… and addressing to each point will clarify and help me suggest this theme to a lot of my clients (as they will trust me, I want to be sure about the features listed).
I have only copy/pasted what features were highlighted by the author. I hope even for this reply, the author does not choose to answer everything else and again dodge to clarify 9 points, one by one.
I request the author if they could straight away address “each” of the 9 questions asked earlier with a simple format, such as this:
“Yes, this feature will work with full functionality without any subscription after 6 months”
or ..
“No, this feature will work with limited functionality without a subscription”...
(It need not be in this exact format, but just ensure that you clarify whether each of the 9 pointers are free forever with the theme without any limitations or restrictions on any of the elements in them after 6 months..but please address each question separately so that there is no room for misunderstandings/assumptions..)
THAT’S IT !! ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT! JUST REPLY TO “EACH” OF THE 9 POINTERS THAT I HAVE ASKED WITHOUT DODGING THE QUESTION & PLEASE ANSWER STRAIGHT TO THE POINT.
I once again request the theme author to CLARIFY EACH OF THE 9 QUESTIONS DISTINCTIVELY. THESE 9 QUESTIONS ARE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE PROMISES OF FEATURES MENTIONED IN THEIR OFFICIAL DEMO LINKS, THEME PAGES, ETC.
As a potential buyer and a long term user of Envato/themforest, I want to ensure that this author is not trying to escape from the responsibility of addressing their features.
The more I ask for clarity, the better for all fellow buyers like me to make an informed judgement from the honesty in the responses/replies. I really really like your theme, but I want to ensure that there is no trap later on after 6 months, wherein some features which was shown in the main minimog purchase page of themeforest or demo site are later made into a subscription pit. I want to ensure that I give full clarity to my clients, whenever I’m suggesting your theme purchase.
I humbly request the theme author to focus on answering each of my 9 questions clearly/separately (because those are directly related to their list of feature promises).

Thank you for the clarity. This is what I (and many others) will expect.. to have full clarity before purchasing any theme. Without this, we will be left perplexed with unless dug deeper to understand..
I have nothing against you guys, your team has built an amazing product.. I only wanted to be extremely clear that to benefit from all the features mentioned/demoed on the site in unlimited capacity (that’s what I would expect when I buy a theme) I need not pay monthly subscription.. but sadly that is far from reality..
So I can summarize that although most features are free when I purchase Minimog theme, few of those amazing features are capped such as Product Bundles feature, Quantity discount feature, Pre-purchase upsell feature, In-cart recommendations feature, Countdown timer feature, Promotion pop-up feature and Size chart feature are limited to 15 and not clearly unlimited capacity to use.
(if I need all of those amazing features in unlimited capacity & that’s what we generally expect when we buy a theme) I assume post those limitations I will be trapped to pay a monthly subscription amount upto $79 monthly in order to benefit from those amazing features after those limitation as you clarified & mentioned above in each of those features list. Also, that link isn’t working which you shared above.
Thank you author, this whole thread will help a lot of buyers like me to make an informed judgement before indulging for first 6 months & then getting struck. This is good for all.
I must appreciate the business master mind behind this strategy. Its wonderful! but sadly comes at the cost of the buyer.
Loved the theme, but I wouldn’t risk my business with any limitations (not even any minor features let alone those amazing features) when there are 100s of other themes in the themeforest available without such practices.
And now, to all fellow buyers (including me):
Please do your own due diligence as I had major disappointments like this one with others because of similar practices.
Like me, don’t get swayed away by the fact that they are providing free demo installation as you will not be able to gauge what is under limited capacity (as mentioned by author in previous comment) and whats not.. that’s until 6 months and when your business is all set, many of those 6 out 9 features may start to get limited if you have exceeded their limitations. there’s nothing unlimited capacity in those 6 out 9 features.
Make your own informed judgements.
On a positive note, I would suggest other fellow buyer this: If you think on it, this is actually an amazing theme.. If you feel that an additional $79 per month would not be a big pinch in your pocket (especially if your e-commerce business through minimog actually earns a lot of money for you) then I guess its worth paying and falling prey to this monthly trap.
