I purchased and am spending a few days building, an update notice popped up yesterday saying 1.2 was released and that you had changed the SiteWide Activity plugin to shortcode which sounds great however there was no way to update in the dashboard and the version here on Themeforest is the same. How do I update?

Can the background of widgets be changed? I am looking to make a dark themed site not another one that is mostly White on white.
On the demo site it is kind of an off white back ground, and widget areas seem to be white. Does my question make sense?
Also I noticed you removed the tabs that used to be in the middle column of the demo homepage. Is this feature glitchy/no longer available?

Yes the widget background color can be changed.
The Latest Activity panel in the central column was a third party plugin widget which had a number of bugs. I decided to no longer display this widget and create my own latest activity panel that does not currently include tab filtering.
regarding translations, could you update your theme and tag your phrases correctly, so all wordpress/buddypress/bbpress/woocommerce phrases are not included in your language file… from the official phrase files, your language pack containts 434 default sentences, on a 617 phrases count… hard to translate, hard to compare, but also too big for no real reason.
also, some details in the theme are still tagged as “Bounce”...

Only the text from the theme files are included in translation files. There are no references to WooCommerce in the translation files, and the only references to BuddyPress text are those generated by the theme.
Can you tell me where things are tagged as Bounce?

I noticed an error:
On the homepage if you click a filter in latest activity – blogs, groups etc.
An error appears, you get “0” under latest activity.

The latest activity panel is a widget that is part of a third party plugin that I’ve inserted as an example. You can replace this with another plugin. The bugs with this are beyond my control unfortunately.

A couple of suggestions if I may:
Adjust the CSS so that hyperlinks are obvious Make the Community Stats widget linkable i.e. clicking members links to members page, blogs to blogs
Members | Active Member should read Active Members or is that as I’m the only one on the demo site?
It’s fantastic overall and I’m almost ready to go ahead and commit to working with this framework on a big site of mine I’ve been running for a few years. Do you plan on regular updates and improvements or are you already working on something else?

The Community Stats widget is a third part plugin – this suggestion should be directed at the plugin author.
I’m not sure what you’re referring to with Members | Active Members? This sounds like it relates to a BuddyPress page/widget and is not the responsibility of the theme itself.
Yes, the theme is regularly updated with additions, improvements and bug fixes.

Can you be more specific? What do you mean by a search option? You can insert the Search widget into sidebars already.

May have missed it but would it be possible to install woocommerce into the demo site so I can see what it looks like by default in the theme?

Hi there,
While Buddy is fully compatible with WooCommerce, I do not label this as a WooCommerce which is why it is not shown n the live preview. The theme is compatible with many plugins but I can’t shown them all unfortunately.
WooCommerce has it’s own styling, so it looks the same as it does with the default Twenty Eleven/Twelve WordPress themes.
To import the demo widgets go to Tools -> Import Widgets, click the Choose file button and locate the widget_data.json file that is inside the buddy-theme/buddy/help folder and double click the file to select it and then click the Upload file and import button. ->Installation Error : Warning: file_get_contents() [function.file-get-contents]: Filename cannot be empty in /home/hosting_users/lunacy7_toad/www/wp-content/themes/buddy/lib/admin/inc/widget-settings-importexport/widget_data.php on line 373

I have an issue, that in my Homepage “Sidebar” there’s one widget : The Side Wide Activity, but when i go on the home page there are three widget (in the middle of the window) : “Side Wide Activity; Latest Posts and The Features” are visible, so in the widget center page, the 2 lasts widget are invisible in the Homepage sidebar. I want to supress them and i can’t.. If you have an idea !

How difficult would it be for someone without coding knowledge to create a review section, like in review it on the home page, either by switching posts to reviews, or by adding an additional widget below the posts widget.

If you actually want to transform posts into reviews with a full review interface, this would be a big job, unless you’re experienced with WordPress, PHP and HTML. Otherwise you will need to hire a developer to do this. To just add ratings to posts you can use a ratings plugin such as GD Star Rating.

This is really a WordPress question and has nothing to do with the theme. Just go to Users > Your Profile and uncheck “Show Toolbar when viewing site”.

Do you mean the “orange” stats. This is the community stats widget which is discussed in the help file.

Unfortunately I can’t give users member access currently as they end up spamming the theme with posts as they test things out. There’s nothing much to see, Buddy uses the standard BuddyPress options that come with any BuddyPress theme. You can already see these if you activate the default BuddyPress theme.

being fixed alike… i placed the plugin on right sidebar, it won’t work, i tried again, this time i put it on left sidebar, and it works! ... kinda… fun… lol.
