Hi, the video background feature in the header of posts doesn’t seem to work on mobile devices…only on desktop…is there a way to make the background video on a post header autoplay on mobile devices?~

Most mobile devices and browsers do not allow autoplaying background videos, due to most people having limited data on their mobile data plans. Having these videos autoplay without a way to stop them (as they’re background videos) would eat up people’s data, so even though some modern phones are allowing this now, it’s still not good practise.

Possible bug - Just noted – when a display time frame is added to inline posts – Customize > Posts > Inline Posts – then the ‘Overide’ Inline Posts option doesn’t work in the individual post.

A few days ago an update to “Login with Ajax” came out, and I was waiting to apply it when an update to the theme arrived, in case this new update was incompatible (something similar happened years ago). The fact is that I’m understanding, reading other comments, that by having “Let’s Ajaxify The Login” it’s no longer necessary to have “Login with Ajax” installed. This is so? I say this by uninstalling that plugin. Or is it necessary to have “Login with Ajax” installed for “Let’s Ajaxify The Login” to work?
Well, I deactivated the plugin and even deleted it a couple of days ago, and I see that I can log in without problems. A warning for the owners of the theme would not be bad, since there will be many who still have Login with Ajax installed without knowing that they can remove it from their installation.

Yeah, you need to delete Login With Ajax. That plugin has turned into something completely different to what is used to be. The Let’s Ajaxify the Login is a Codetipi made plugin and is all you need. It’s lighter and faster than Login with Ajax ever was too.

Hello, 30 days ago I posted a comment here and I saw several people asking for guidance, but without an answer. I can confirm that the Twitter icon is getting updated to X (although I’ll miss the bird, much nicer logo than the X) in the upcoming update too, which will be out relatively soon

Coincidentally, Zeen v4.5.1 was submitted to Themeforest earlier today, and the it fixes a couple of quirk, as well as replaces the Twitter logo with the new X one.
The theme is already so powerful and flexible, if you have any particular suggestions of features you’d like to see – please send them my way. Zeen has gotten to this point thanks to great user suggestions.

I’m afraid that isn’t really possible. The only way would be through a custom PHP script that uses the WordPress transient system to do that – it is quite niche and not a quick job, so I’m afraid it isn’t something I can help with.

We keep having CLS issues in PageSpeed Insights because of the H1 font that triggers layout shifts. Using font-display: optional to prevent layout shifts is not something we would like to do, as the design of the website (fonts included) is very important to us. Maybe take this into account for the next update.

Im afraid this is a really tricky one as people use very different fonts and there isn’t a one-size fits all. This has to be addressed on a per-site basis. For example, if your particular font has very wide characters, it means while the font file loads, the default font might stretch over less lines, so when the real font finishes loading and is applied, the letters spill over more lines and cause the layout shift.
You could look at reducing the font size where relevant in situations like that, to try to minimize layout shifts caused by that type of thing, etc.

Hi, when using Gutentor sticky blocks (or any sticky functionality) in columns, the columns are not aligned to the centre and are appearing off the page. This is the case with post layouts which don’t have sidebars. Is there a fix for this?

The links are duplicates, but it’s because those posts show multiple features, so if you’re interested in seeing what a Sponsored post or a Parallax post look like in Zeen, then the same link applies as the post is using both the Zeen sponsored post and parallax features

I have been running into some issues lately trying to tweak the theme and i can’t find any solution to it.
Is there a way to switch the secondary menu and the logo position ? How can i add some spacing to the secondary menu navigation links when rotated to 90deg to make it readable ? If both of the above are a bother to do, is there a way to add a navigation links to the slide in pannel ?

It seems the latest version of Zeen has once again broken all the pages on my website. Every post that has colorized text has this terrible spacing on the left and right. Can be seen at www.requnix.com. Click on any of the front page posts and look at the text that’s colorized. Any ideas?

Please look at the most recent post on the site and scroll down. Every section that has colored text has numerous spaces on the left and right. This is the exact same problem I dealt with a year or two ago. Note I haven’t made any changes to my templates since then. It’s really like this with the spacing. It is very apparent.
I had a quick look as a one off favor (you need valid support for any kind of support), and can confirm this has nothing to do with the theme. You have a plugin adding custom CSS (darkreader darkreader—sync) that is adding styling to excerpts.
First, Code – you’re awesome. THANK YOU. Second, it’s actually the mark element. It appeared to be from darkreader (initially) but I think the mark comes from somewhere else; possibly even the admin system. Here’s the mark inheritence:
mark { background: #eee; padding: 3px 5px; }
html {
-wp-admin-admin-bar—height: 32px;
scroll-padding-top: var(-wp-admin-admin-bar—height);
}
Note I added this to Additional CSS and it nullified the mark – but strange – not sure where the mark came from…

But that’s just it Chris – you are not answering questions. My support tickets have been open for 3 weeks! What’s going on? It never used to be like this. Seriously thinking I’m going to have to change theme – there are more glitches and bugs in the Tipi editing window too and no answer to support questions. It’s really REALLY sad because this is a great theme.

Is anyone else having problems importing one (or more) of the Zeen demo’s? Mine is stuck on 0%, it won’t install the demo, I’ve tried several of them, deleted and reinstalled the theme, disabled all plugins, but still not able to simply install the demo, it doesn’t work. And it’s been 3 days since I posted on the “support” page asking for help, but have had no reply. Not sure if this is a bug or some other reason, I’ve tried everything I can think of, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Apologies for the delay, but have you managed to get it working now? The only reason it wouldn’t work is if your hosting blocks certain connections, as all the demo files are hosted externally.
Do you have access to a site on another hosting company that you could test? Because I just tested it and it all works fine on my side.

If you go to the website mysterytribune.com and pick an article, you’ll see that Google Ads which intends to place an ad (I believe on top of title header for the post), over the featured image… Is there a way to add a CSS code or something like that telling Google not to put ad there or block ads in the vicinity of the title and featured image?

Apologies for the delayed response, but I’m afraid that if you are using Google Ads dynamic auto-placement system, then I don’t think you can do much about it. To control the exact locations you’ll need to manually add the ads to the desired locations.
