Hi there,
When using your theme, is it possible to create custom layouts using your builder on any page other than the homepage?
Or does the builder work only for the homepage?
My goal is to have a news-style site with a custom layout on the homepage, but then also have sub-sections (for example, like “sports” or “politics”) that have their own section home page with a custom layout.
Is there a way to make this work, either using your builder or by using your widgets inside an Elementor layout?
Thanks.
Hi omariwhite,
Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately such a possibility is not available yet but we’re planning to improve our builder to make it work for multiple pages. Hope you’ll be back to check its progress sometimes in the future.

Hi withemes! I’ve been using Fox Theme for the longest time and I find it pretty amazing. I now use the demo fox time and customizing it for my content. I would like to ask how to change default theme font color? particularly the side bar. I know the default for fox time is #000 with black background. I want to change that without having to go to the stylesheet. Thank you in advance for your help.
Hi bonedoc,
Thank you for loving the theme. You can use Customizer search functionality to find things you want. For instance, It seems you’re looking for widget title background color: https://prnt.sc/cNJJnMGCydJB
There’s lot of options out there. Mostly in Customize > DESIGN panel.
Hope this helps,

Hi Snakeman,
What did you mean by “implement several translation with the Quick Translation”?
~ Cuong Tran
Filled out some translation in the customizer but none of them are visible
Hi Snakeman,
Could you please open a new ticket here with your site URL + login info, we’ll help you to check your site.
From our side, the translation module is still working well.

I’m out of support – I’m gonna fix it myself.

Hi Snakeman,
I can confirm The Fox is compatible with PHP 8.3. The demo site is currently running PHP 8.3.6 https://prnt.sc/jDsoVSFyKkCU

I would like to create a “not found” page. Which file would I edit to make this happen?
Hi msayle. To customize not found page, you can edit theme 404.php file or use a custom plugin. Please search for “page 404 plugin”.
Hope this helps,

The /?s= page is treated as a 404?
Hi msayle,
No, /?s= page returns the search page. It’s not treated as 404.
~ Cuong Tran
I’m asking how to modify the /?s= page when no results are returned.
It’s just a blank screen, but it should say something like “No results found, please check spelling and try your search again.”
Hi msayle,
This is a very wordpress problem and non-theme problem. It behaves like that in WordPress and no themes change that behaviour or interfere that behaviour. For general WP, please seek for help in some Q&A sites. I found this, may be It’ll help:

Can you also allow us to display bottom header in mobile and make them touch scrollable like detik.com, currently we cannot show bottom header on mobile. https://ibb.co/74Y7V5z
Hi yukeshive,
I understand the idea. However It’s a bit advanced for the theme hence we do not implement this idea. You can do it yourself with little CSS, I’m pretty sure It’s doable with CSS. However it’s out of our support scope. You can do it yourself or hire a freelancer to help you out.

Hello, when I went to install the theme I received an error message that the CSS stylesheet was not in the theme, can you help me with this?
Unpacking the package…
Installing the theme…
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
Theme installation failed.
Hi thaysladler,
Please unzip until you get fox.zip file. Also, I don’t see purchase label on your username. Did you purchase The Fox Magazine theme or another theme having same name “Fox”?
~ Cuong Tran
Hello! I’ve been using the FOX Magazine theme for quite some time. However, recent updates have been causing various issues. I’m unable to update the homepage or change the fonts. Ideally, updates should improve the user experience and simplify tasks, but unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case.
My current Theme Engine version is 6.2.6, but to change the font, I must revert to version 5, which is inconvenient and time-consuming. When will we be able to use version 6.2.6 without any issues? Additionally, I’m experiencing problems with updating and customizing the appearance, particularly with the Homepage Builder. When I try to add a section, it just buffers and resets to the start without adding the new section. I urgently need help to resolve this issue. I love the theme, but if I can’t customize it for my website, I will have to consider other options.
When I purchased this theme last year, I was able to customize the header and other elements freely. However, the current Theme Engine version 6.2.6 has severely limited my ability to make changes. This theme urgently needs enhancements. I would appreciate more customization options to modernize and improve my website. Currently, version 6.2.6 is causing my website to appear outdated. I would be grateful for any advice or solutions you could provide.
Hi deboraportess,
I’m sorry for the bugs that costed your time. Yes, It was mistake from our side and It shouldn’t be like that. I tried to fix them immediately. We released The Fox v6.2.7 with the Homepage builder refreshing issue fixed. Please update the item.
If you have additional bugs to report, please let me know, we’ll try to fix them immediately. Regarding “chaning font issue”, I tested but couldn’t be able to replicate that issue from our side. Please report that bug by openning a ticket here with details, I’ll check.

Hello, Our website is using the older version of The Fox, and I am wondering about what documentation, help, or support there is for upgrading to the new version without completely losing all page layout and structure?
Hi Ximbalo,
It depends on which version are you using. If you’re currently using v2.x, 3.x, 4.x then please they’re too outdated hence you’ll need to be more careful. However, It’s still ok.
If your theme version is 5.x then It’s not likely to break the layout. And after updating, you can always revert back if you want. If you’re currently using The Fox v5, you can learn more about it here.
~ Cuong Tran
Hi Cuong, Thank you for the reply. Our site: AgReport.bz has had to be kept at Fox Version: 4.7.2 for the last 4 years or so. I would like very much now to upgrade to the most recent version, but… it does look as I would need to rebuild the entire site from scratch. Please advise. Thank You.
Hi Ximbalo,
It’s not likely you will need to rebuild your site. But before updating, please back up your site first. And I know many hosting companies have back up mechanism so that in any case, you can revert it to the previous state. You can just go ahead. In any case, you can also open a ticket here, we’d love to assist.

Choosing color option from post section doesn’t work if the post title and content color are selected from the customizer, How to fix this. for eg. https://www.ditible.com/al-nassr-fixtures-in-nepali-time/ i have choosen blue here but selected different from customizer, customizer overrides it, but works if i choose default. Unable to find options for this, where can i find it.
How to display full date and time of post in single post?
Hi yukeshive,
1/ I don’t understand this question properly. Some terms are vague like “post section” so I don’t understand what you refered to. Could you please open a ticket here with some screenshots of what you did and what you expected it to be so I understand what’s the thing not working here. Or you can somehow provide screenshots here but ThemeForest comments section is not designed for uploading images.
2/ You can only display full date/time globally, ie. It’s full format everywhere (blog, archive..) instead of just single posts. You can change date/time format in Dashboard > Settings > General
https://prnt.sc/w6QdS1y9mTwoBy default, when you hover date, It shows date + time so It’s helpful if some visitors want to know the time precisely.

hello, we have 2 little issues with the theme.
If you open page 2, the last 2 articles from page 1 are listed again. No matter which offset etc. we have set.
And #2. since the update in March, Facebook pulls the article image in the preview, but as soon as you post on facebook, it is no longer displayed.
Are there already experiences or something similar.
Regards www.weddingweiser.de
Hi weddingweiser,
1/ I have just checked and the paginagion is still working well for me. Please update the theme to latest version to see if the problem being fixed?
2/ https://prnt.sc/Wzay2lmalxpx For me It’s still working well. Maybe It’s not working for on some random articles? While this is a general WordPress (ie. not theme related, how facebook selects preview image is often related to SEO plugin), you may need to seek for help on general WP forums.
Kind regards,
Cuong Tran
“3/ Regarding the Typography: Depending on what things you’re trying to set color. Of course, no themes provide options for everything. However, The Fox is also, rare themes to provide you color options for “almost” everything: body text, heading text, menu, submenu, title, widget, tags, meta, categories, social icons.. Almost everything: https://prnt.sc/_--BR4VCNOku"
How much control will I have over the fonts? It looks like I can only control the colour, and not the font
Hi RisingCity1,
That screenshot is only an example of color options. You can check the Theme Options area to see options you have regarding fonts.
Kind regards,
Cuong Tran
Thanks for your reply, I can see various options, but no option to change the font family itself. I know it’s not adviceable to use too many fonts on one website. But I just need the clarification. Do you have such an option to change the font on any particular element?
Hi RisingCity1,
Not any particular element but many elements. Every element in this list, you can change its font face, technically. I’m talking about the ability to change fonts, not about It should or should not.
For instance, for the tagline font, here’s the what it looks like: https://prnt.sc/KjV532EaX4Xo
You can choose any google fonts, or any self-hosted font you upload, or system fonts (helvetica, georgia..)
Same interface for other elements in above list.
Hope this helps,
Cuong Tran
Hi, we settled on this theme because of flexibility and that it had auto-load next post built-in (priority for us). Only found out after install that the auto-load feature is currently disabled. Is there a date for when it will be enabled again?
Been trying to setup Ajax Load More as a temporary substitue, but can’t get it to display posts in the same styling as a single post have, so auto-load is very much needed.
Hi TomHell,
The autoload next post feature is just a small feature for single post view. It loads the next post when you in single post view, not blog view.
The Ajax load more does different things. It loads more on blog posts. It’s a feature we have never had or advertised.
We have plan to recover single autoload next post but there’s no ETA for this.
Kind regards,
Cuong Tran
Thank you for your answer. Yes, I’m aware it loads on single post view and that’s exactly what we want.
Have you any suggestion on a plugin for this that I could try while we wait for autoload next post feature coming back?
It requires deeply understanding of the structure of single post file so I guess only The Fox theme can do it. But I actually added this task to the next version update.

Demo suggestion: https://www.japantimes.co.jp/
Nice demo suggestion. Thank you. I noted.
~ Cuong Tran
also newsweek.com demo can be done wit fox, i also want to update you on making nofollow for share icons url, i think they are dofollow now. like tweet with url to post are ranking under my actual posts.
Hi yukeshive,
1/ https://www.newsweek.com/ noted
2/ The share URL looks like: x.com/intent/tweet and It has nothing to do with the actual tweet. Imagine 2 people share a post, different tweets, right? We don’t really need follow or no-follow here. The share URL is not an actual link.
“tweet with url to post are ranking under my actual posts.”—> I’m not sure about this but there might be another reason.

Hi, the option to stretch content images will not work here (Daniel, narrow content selected, v6.2.5.1). Is this error known?
Regards, r.
Hi rappel,
As I checked, there’s no problem with stretching content images.
https://prnt.sc/DLcp9BIQTBHD https://prnt.sc/Zq74DX6Tv7ve(Also there’s no difference between demos in functionality hence Daniel demo is not taken into account)
Kind regards,
Cuong Tran
I have this issue with LCP and I been suggested to contact theme developer:
Problem: not getting mobile pages indexed
Reason: Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) measures a page’s load speed, and Google recommends it be within 2.5 seconds of when a page first starts loading.
Solution: This depends on the theme/page builder you’re using currently. You should get in touch with your theme provider to see if they can assist you in reducing the time within 2.5 seconds.
Hi peninsula92,
All you need to do is to disable your lazy load plugin. The theme has perfect lazy load strategy. It loads eagerly the 1st image (your LCP) and loads all other images lazily. That’s the best strategy for loading images and you’ll read about this everywhere. You even see the question to not lazy load 1st photo of your site. That’s what the theme actually did and no plugins can help you to do that.
So for lazy loading images, please disable your all your lazy load plugins because the theme actually did it better and any lazy load plugin will ruin it.
Hope this helps,
Cuong Tran
