This usually happens if something is inserted into the page that changes its length after loading. This could be a plugin, shortcode, or insertion of some code.

Would a Captcha cause this?

This hasn’t been tested, but if it changes the page length after loading, then the animation should be disabled. You can temporarily disable Captcha to see if it is the cause of the problem.

Before doing what I wrote above, disable all plugins.

All plugins disabled, theme installed but it is showing now the following message: The parent theme is missing. Please install the “layerswp” parent theme. – When we click install it says: Installation package not available. // Any idea on how to fix that?

The icons in the process section aren’t showing up on the desktop version of Safari. Oddly enough though the icons in the About section are working. In all other browsers, they seem to work fine.

Indeed, there is some problem with this icon set. I can only advise replacing these icons with Fontawesome, they are displayed normally.

The theme does not support Layers Pro and has not been tested with this extension. Layers Pro advertising was inserted by the developers of the free version of Layers, but I think it will allow you to increase the size of the logo only in those themes that support it and will not allow this in Skrollex. The logo can be enlarged using this free extension:

I fixed one bug in Layers. Please download a new Layers from the link in the current online documentation and reinstall. You should see Layers Version: “2.0.10.fixed-a” in your admin dashboard.

Initially, background videos were not supported on mobile devices. At the request of users, I tried to add support for video files hosted on own server, but this does not work correctly in all browsers due to browsers limitations for security reasons.
Therefore I recommend using YouTube videos and setting an alternative image for mobile browsers. In this configuration, an alternative image will be displayed on all mobile devices.

Footer is fully editable. Login as admin. Open site in front-end. Click “Customize” on top admin bar. Go to: “Edit Layout / Footer 1”.

Thanks for the updated link. I’ve updated wordpress, skrollex and layers. Disabled all plugins, but the site is still loading very slowly.

Try disabling all plugins. I advise you to first determine the cause of the slowdown, since it most likely may not depend on your WordPress settings.
Also Layers has known issue. If you have many pages created using Lyers, this can slow down, especially during editing, because WordPress loads widgets into memory of even those pages that are not currently viewed. I recommend regular and simple pages, that do not require features which realised via SX Section, to create via regular WordPress editor. Also delete pages which is not used and clear trash (it is important).
Also, make sure that your site is not under attack and your server is not running out of resources. This can be seen from the server logs. Ask your provider where to view error and access logs, or try using WordPress plugins for this purpose.
Try using page caching plugins, this can significantly reduce the load on the server and speed up front-end. For example, WP Super Cache.
Page can be cloned via json export/import, but this feature was only available in the Layers via Classic Editor. The latest versions of WordPress use Gutenberg and this option has become unavailable. To make it available again, you need to disable Gutenberg editor via any WordPress plugin. Then click on Edit Page then use Export Layout and Import Layout.

Hello, and thank you for the detailed reply. I took your advice and removed some pages and elements from the main page and this made a huge difference in loading time. Reoptimized and reuploaded images, this seems to have made a difference too.

GTmetrix rating went from E to C instantly, and I have not even setup any caching plugins yet. So I think with WP Rocket, the site can probably load even faster.

Your should activate Skrollex Extension plugin which is included in the distribution. Please see notifications about required plugins in the admin panel. This notifications has links to install and activation plugins. These notifications appear after the theme is activated.

The theme does not support this. This can only be changed by coding if you have coding skills. But it’s not entirely simple. The textillate library is used for animation.

Unfortunately, there is no standard way to clone a page in WordPress. There are several plugins for this purpose, but the theme has not been tested with them. Layers has a function to export and import pages via json format. But it was only available in the old WordPress editor. To open the page in the old WordPress editor, you need to temporarily disable the Gutenberg editor. There is a plugin for this in the WordPress repository. This is not the most convenient way, but I once used it before and it worked.

The version of FontAwesome that is included in the Layers is used by default. This is not the latest version of FontAwesome and some icons may not be available. You can try to install third party plugins for support latest version of Fontawesome.

The download speed depends only on the image size, network bandwidth and the performance of your server. Try optimizing your images or using a more efficient compression format. You can use plugins for this purpose. Images are automatically scaled to cover the entire section depending on the aspect ratio of the device.

When you open the panel for editing color schemes, you will see tooltips on page elements indicating the color scheme of the element. For menus, it is Colors A by default. To change the menu color, you should change Background A and Transparency A.
I see the video on your page not as a background, but the YouTube background video will not be displayed on mobile devices, instead it will be displayed as an alternative image, which you specify in the SX Background Video options.
About column images. You cannot insert an anchor to such image. The only thing you can do is switch the editor in the text field to Source Mode. There is a button on the pop-up toolbar for this. And there, add the id attribute for some element. For example:
<p id="tratata"...
and you will be able to link to this element like
https://www.domain.com/page#tratata
But this may not work as expected on text fields if they are displayed in a popup overlay.

Background images for columns are not supported by the theme. Only for the entire section. You can try to solve this using some plugin. If a page is created in Layers, then it can use plugins that work as a shortcodes. If the page is created in the core editor, then you can use plugins that work as blocks or shortcodes.
