I found 2 bugs in Journal 3.2 RC 102 (OC4) on our development site (PHP 8.3 or 8.2 tested): 1. Add a product that has options to cart from product list or any list (not product page) – the pop-up opens with an error > Warning: foreach() argument must be of type array|object, null given in …/catalog/controller/journal3/event/product.php on line 207 On line 207 you wil see the new added code from our previous version rc100

2. When SEO activated in OC4 > On checkout page, the link to “go to login page” don’t go to the login page because of the SEO is active I must say that the journal checkout on OC3 was perfect – You had everything perfectly there. Now it is not good – I know this is the Opencart One Page, but it is not a good solution. It would be great to have the journal checkout back in 3.2 and OC4.

Hi, we will provide a fix for the warning in the next update. Regarding the login link, we will investigate this further and provide a fix if needed. Currently, we don’t have plans to adapt Journal one page checkout to Opencart 4 since they already implemented it.

I can’t seem to get rid of the default journal blog posts. They show in the english language site but not my finnish language site. Latest posts bring my posts and also the journal posts and there isn’t any of them in journal-blog-posts. I’ve tried clearing caches from blog related sections but nothing is removing these.

Hi, make sure posts are translated in all languages. If you don’t see all blog posts in admin, probably they are not translated into your admin language, try setting admin language to English.

Is it possible to change slider transection style V3.2? and how?

No, I just said what is possible in the new slider blocks module. What you are looking for is available in the old Slider (Legacy) module which you can continue to use just like before in Journal 3.1, nothing changed there.

The new slider blocks module is a separate slider module, but you can still use the older module which offers different transitions.

If, I buy a slider extentions, then is it possible to set in journal theme?

We cannot guarantee compatibility, you would have to consult with the extension developer for compatibility support.

Does Journal 3 theme support timed blog posts? I.e. write today, publish next week? Also, tried to add google fonts through Journal->Variables->Font Family to the theme but it does not show in blog posts, does blog require different setting?

You have a date option on your posts so technically you could put a future date and the post should not appear until that date: https://cln.sh/vMCGp92c

As for typography, ensure you don’t have inline css styles applied on your blog post text in the post editor: https://cln.sh/7Xkd24BD

If you click on that Code button you will see if your html is pasted in with inline css applied already. It usually is because styles are copied from your other program into html editors.

So you would have to paste your text without formatting, using Shift + Ctrl + V when you paste it instead of just Ctrl + V.

Why the links of blog posts and blog categories are not restricting to its own stroe, blog posts and blog categories are accessible from all the stores by copying the link from one store to other, and it is causing a lot of 404 erros in google anytyles due to referring pages with wrong store links to other stores.

Hi, this is not a Journal issue, Opencart 4 has language prefix urls by default, in Opencart 3 you must install a third party extension to add language prefix in urls.

Hi, yes you can use that with Opencart 3.0.4. You would have to download the new theme files and fo the update.

That other piece of docs refers to Opencart 4 compatibility, does not apply in your case if you’re using OC3.

I am using the latest Opencart 4.0.2.3 and installed the latest Journal Theme 3.2

I am unable to submit reviews and the text “0 Reviews” doesn’t show up next to the stars on the product page.

There is a known issue with Opencart 4.0.2.3 regarding the review page and needs 2 lines to be fixed on the controller/review.php page.

Change this: $this->load->model(‘product/product’);

$product_info = $this->model_product_product->getProduct($product_id);

To this: $this->load->model(‘catalog/product’);

$product_info = $this->model_catalog_product->getProduct($product_id);

When I fixed these 2 lines I was able to submit a review but after installing journal, I am no longer able to submit a review and I get a message stating:

“Warning: Review token invalid!”

I have tried both with the 2 lines fixed and without. Without the change, the review does not submit and has no messages.

When I checked the journal demo, it shows that it is working so I am not sure what is going on.

Please give an option to change or remove the Blog post main image background.

You cannot change that color if that is a jpg image. You would need to change the image dimensions crop factor to Fill in Journal > Skins > Edit > Image Dimensions > Post Page… This will size the image to fill the image container.

image fill is a very bad concept, as it’s stretch the image. Maximum times major parts of the image goes outside of container area. It’s better keep this post page image container as transparent or no color. That will looks better.

Well, that’s quite useful but you’re not using it as expected.

In any case, you can input square image dimensions if that is what your original image proportions are.

Or you an upload a png image so that transparency is preserver, which is not possible with jpg images.

You also have different position options for the image in Journal > Skins > Edit > Blog > Post Page > Post Image…

Hello, I have a license and a working store, but I noticed a huge increase in inodes in my server. A large number of them are generated from the journal’s photo cache. What is the solution and how to deal with this problem? Thank you.

Hi, Journal uses the default Opencart image cache mechanism, depending on how many images you have, they will be resized in various sizes based on where the images are. If you have a lot of images and your server has such limits, you may have to update your hosting plan.

Below please find my 3rd and last question/problem with J3.2

The % discount labels in Journal 3.2 are not been updated on product modules. Steps to reproduce: 1. Add a discount price to products and specify the end date. 2. Add a digit % discount label which is triggered on special products. 3. After you pass the end date the prices on product and category pages are been reverted and the % label is gone. This is correct behaviour. But when you check Journal modules which are presenting products ie. bestsellers on home page they have still % labels despite their prices have been reverted. 4. In order to solve it you must log in to dashboard and clear Journal cache. It is quite annoying because you must remember to do it after each promotion period.

Could you please provide a fix for this issue? Sorry for bothering you here, I have sended some messages on journal 3.2 contact mailbox but I didnt get a reply.

A follow up to this topic. After further investigation once the special prices period is over, prices return to normal in Journal modules (ie. Bestsellers module). So its working correctly.

However it is not disabling Journal labels related to special prices. If there are some labels which are related to special prices they are still visible on products in Journal modules once the special prices period is over.

I hope that you can provide a fix also for the labels.
