Hello, I’m using the theme but facing issues searching listings. I created Regions and added child-regions. For my understanding, if I search for the main Region e.g. Germany I want to get also all child regions. This is not the default behaviour, right? Is it possible to implement?

If you visit the single term page of a parent category e.g. yoursite.com/region/ it will show listings of child-regions as well. For keyword search that’s not possible unfortunately

The only workaround is to disable Woocommerce, but i need it.
I also noticed that using WPML, i still have a page working fine in English but not in Italian (main Language)

The latest 2.11.7 I noticed that when WPML Multilingual CMS v4.6.14 is active, i can’t see the Theme Option, it seems there’s a problem there.
Based on the error ” PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot access offset of type string on string in /wp-content/themes/my-listing/templates/dashboard/form-login.php:73” it cannot detect the background to use in the login screen because the theme settings doesn’t load correctly. Related to this new error the console says:

Mylisting is not compatible with that plugin. We make it clear jn the theme description.
Which plugin do you suggest other than WPML? There’s any future plan to make it compatible?
We don’t plan multi language plugin compatibility. It’s not the focus of the theme.

There’s a bug with Edit27>Listing Categories widget.
Having several listing types, custom taxonomies and explore pages, I selected a custom taxonomy in Listing Categories widget but the cards redirect only to default Explore listings page setted in Theme options, while it should redirect to related explore page.
Can you please check the problem and explain how to fix it ?

Sorry, then what’s the benefit to alow select a different taxonomy / categories in that widget if in final it can only redirect to default explore page? Best regards

Disable all plugins unrelated to the theme and keep only MyListing and Elementor. Then go to Elementor > Tools > Regenerate CSS.

Hello, even though im changing the permalink to something else, like “company”,.. in the url i see that the theme or system keeps thinking that the listing type is for example “place”. How do i change that? because in my website its not “place” or places, but business etc.
Such that i see: /explore/?type=place etc in the url. But i cant find anywhere whats causting it to think that the listing type is “place”. And i did check the documentaiton and did what it said about changing the permalink under general in listing types.

You need to change the slug of the listing type. Listing types > edit listing type > screen options (top right) > enable “slug” > scroll down below listing type name and change slug. Note that when you do this you need to reassign that listing type to listings, explore page, basic form and add listing page

In explore page? Edit with elementor > click over the explore widget > on the settings of that widget you can set the coordinates of the place you want to show when there aren’t any listings with location.

MyListing has no booking functions built-in. You can add via plugins, but how that works depends on the plugin you choose. It’s a question for their authors

You can add shortcode inside listings using the shortcode block.
The design of tags is a bit different in MyListing so you would need to apply some css to have the same look as there.

I’ve noticed that in the search results (rich results), Google doesn’t show an image for listing taxonomies such as regions (/listing-region/XYZ/), categories (/listing-category/XYZ/or tags (/listing-tag/XYZ/), whereas for each taxonomy I’ve uploaded an image (as well as an icon). On the other hand, listings (/listing/XYZ) appear with an image in the search results.
My Schema Markup configuration under Listing Types > Place > General > Schema Markup is as follows for images: photo: [[cover]] Image: [[cover]] Photos: [[gallery]]
What’s interesting is that for listings (/listing/XYZ), it’s neither the Cover Image nor the Featured Image that appear in Google search results, but one of the gallery images – whereas photo: [[cover]] and Image: [[cover]]
I understand that Google chooses to consider or ignore a site’s structured data markup, but it’s intriguing that systematically listings (/listing/XYZ) are entitled to an image (which is strangely not [[cover]] but [[gallery]]) and that no image appears for any taxonomy.
Has a similar issue been reported to you already? Is there another custom structured data markup that could be used for MyListing?
If I add an image to the taxonomy description (listing region/tag/category), then this image appears in the XML Sitemap, and by extension in Google Search.
Apparently, the taxonomy’s cover image (Term Options > Image) isn’t taken into account in the XML Sitemap. Would there be a workaround/code snippet to make the default cover image appear in the XML Sitemap, without having to add another image to the taxonomy description?
Hi Hassan, Pajtim, Have you managed to reproduce the above-reported issue (i.e. cover images not appearing in the XML Sitemap, and by extension on Google Search)? This problem is very disabling, because taxonomies appearing without a photo in the search results are likely to be clicked on much less than if they had a photo. Thanks!

In the meantime, I have manually added an image to the taxonomy text description of some regions/categories on my listing directory, and it has been picked up by Google! And there’s been a spike in traffic to my site for those specific taxonomies since then! Having a cover image detected by the XML Sitemap is a game changer.
I also noticed that the author sitemap /author-sitemap.xml does not pick up the listings associated with a particular author, only the posts they have written. Can this be changed so that the search engines can see that an author has listings associated to him/her? That’s good for SEO too.

They can use the related listing field to link event and job listings to the main listing. For products they can use the products field. However if you want to allow users to create their own products you would need a vendor plugin as well
