Has anyone else recently reported issues with image captions not showing up? They were working just fine on my site and now none of them appear.
Hi,
Can you please send us the url of the page with the image not displaying captions and our support team will take a closer look at the issue?
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
Thanks!
The captions show up just fine on all of my blog pages like here: https://decisionpointtherapy.com/2024/12/22/phrases-for-diffusing-relationship-arguments/ The captions DO NOT show up on my regular pages like here: https://decisionpointtherapy.com/about/about-decision-point-therapy/Hi,
Thanks.
We will add check box in the Bold Page Builder’s image element which will enable you to control the display the image caption as defined in media library. It will take us few days though – keep an eye on BB updates.
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
Ok, thank you!! This would be super helpful for times when the image needs appropriate attribution for copyrights.
This issue appears fixed! The captions are showing up now. Thank you!
Hi,
We are glad we were able to help

Hi, my licence is too old to use your support. The website is still running, but Bold Builder showing no conent in backend. Frontend editing is possible. Can you support?
Hi,
We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the Bold Page Builder plugin.
Please update the Bold Page Builder plugin to the latest version – 5.3.4 and clear the browser cache before testing (just to make sure that you are not loading outdated JS files)
If the error persists please let us know and send us the site url and wp-admin credentials so we can take a closer look at it. You can use the contact form on our profile page – https://themeforest.net/user/boldthemes (right hand side sidebar)

The Google Maps element in Bold Builder does not seem to work. I’ve entered my API key and followed instructions on item 4.7 here: https://documentation.bold-themes.com/bold-builder/shortcodes/
Do you have updated instructions for Addison or does this element not work with the theme?
Thank you!
Hi,
Can you please provide the url of the page with the map so we can take a closer look?
Usually you can see the exact cause of the issue if you take a look at the JavaScript console of your browser’s dev tools.
Google Maps script is fairly detailed in logging issues to the JS console.
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
Hi,
Indeed, if you take a look at the JavaScript console you will notice that the error is:
Google Maps JavaScript API error: RefererNotAllowedMapError
This means that you need to authorize the referrer – https://decisionpointtherapy.com/contact/virginia-beach-location/ in your Google Maps API Key settings.
Please refer for more details here: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#referer-not-allowed-map-error
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
Thank you for instructions.
I authorized the referrer and still get the same error.
Then, I tried creating the map a different way in Bold Builder on a separate page and got a weird formatting error that I cannot fix (renders on mobile – map doesn’t fit on page): https://decisionpointtherapy.com/contact/northern-va-location/
I don’t know if it’s Google maps, the theme, the builder, or what. Is there another map plugin you recommend?
Hi,
What you should do is this:
1. Remove the second empty column and leave only the column with the in the map related row
2. Add the following custom css on that page only:
iframe {
width: 100% !important;
}
Currently as you have put it, it will have width of 600px at all times.
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
This solution worked – thank you!
One final question: Is there any special instructions to use the map element you’re using on this demo page? https://addison.bold-themes.com/main-demo/about-us/location/
I like the overlay of the address on top of the map as you’ve shown it but this element structure doesn’t appear to work in Bold Builder. I tried it for my own page: https://decisionpointtherapy.com/contact/virginia-beach-location/
With your theme, I can only seem to render Google maps using basic HTML coding inserted into a Text element.
Hi,
In order to achieve that layout, you need to use the Bold Page Builder’s Google Maps element and add Google Maps Location element to it.
Than you can add other Bold Builder’s elements into the location element.
You can add multiple locations to the map as well and they will be displayed when you click the respective pin.
As we can see you have managed to achieve that on your site, although you still have RefererNotAllowedMapError coming from your API Key setup.
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
Yes, that’s the strange part. I have the API key setup for that specific page already. That’s why I thought maybe it was an element issue.
I’ll just use HTML map coding since those elements have never worked on my site:( Thanks anyway!
I. Love. This. Theme. I’m finally able to use it for my project and it’s fantastic!! The demo pages are super helpful!
One question here: How do I remove the HEADER IMAGE and HEADLINE from showing on a particular page?
I’d like my HOME and ABOUT ME pages to look seamless like it does in your demo pages – e.g: https://addison.bold-themes.com/main-demo/about-us/about-me/
I tried the instructions you gave to another user but they didn’t work.
Hi,
Thanks for the kind words, we are really happy that you like the theme
Since you are asking how to remove the Header image and headline on specific page, we assume that you have Appearance > Customize > General Settings > Hide Default Headline set to false (unchecked)
In that case, edit the specific page in wp-admin, scroll to the bottom of page edit screen and you will notice meta box called Settings and within it part called Override Global Settings.
Choose Hide Default Headline and set its value to checked.
It should do the trick and override the global setting from appearance > customize on that specific page.
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
This worked perfectly – thank you!
It doesn’t work if I just try to “Preview” the page, but once I actually publish the update the change shows up.
Thanks for the quick reply!
Hi,
That is correct – the page metadata are saved in the WP database only when you click publish.
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
Hi,
My support is ended, but can you tell me, from where can translate portfolio categorie “ALL” ?
Hi,
All is not a portfolio category, it is a label used in masonry portfolio and tile grids as the link to display posts from all categories.
It is part of the theme’s code and you can translate it by translating the theme labels using Poedit https://documentation.bold-themes.com/addison/theme-customization/#translation or translation plugin of your choice.
You can find the reference to a label in /languages/addison.pot (around line 300)

Hello, dear support team:
We have used your template to develop a website located at blancar.ca. Originally, we developed the site on staging.blancar.ca for progress presentations with the client since they had an old website on their main page. Upon completing the site and transferring it from staging.blancar.ca to blancar.ca using some URL replacement plugins, we began experiencing several issues.
The most significant one is that some updates made through Bold Builder in the admin area are not reflected on the site, such as changes to images or text. However, when the updates are made from the visual side, they do appear. This is problematic because there are updates that cannot be made from the visual interface.
It took us a long time to build the site, so reinstalling the template from scratch is not an option for us. What alternatives do we have? Could it be related to the PHP version? We are using PHP version 8.2.
Hi,
Thanks for the purchase.
Please submit a ticket at our support site – https://boldthemes.ticksy.com/ and leave the site url and wp-admin credentials. Our support team will take a closer look at the issue.
From the top of our heads it is not very likely that the php version is the cause of this.

Hello,
Is there a trick to get page specific CSS working in this theme? Or is it just not possible?
Hi,
There are few ways you can add the page specific css to Addison.
1, You can use Custom CSS button when you edit the page in the backend bold page builder – it is located just below the page title and permalink
2. You can add the css to general Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS, but you need to use the .page-id-xxxxxxx class as top level selector. In WordPress each page has a unique class based on its id added to the body tag.

Hello,
I noticed (and the customer to) that when you open the image lightbox, you can only press the arrow buttons and not swipe, even on mobile.
This is actually pretty annoying and i’m sure this can only be a bug or error because I just can’t imagine a modern theme turning of something simple as swiping in a lightbox. It’s 10x better to swipe then having to press the arrow buttons on a mobile phone. I tried to look on the website from Slick but I can’t find any setting that allows me to turn on swiping inside the lightbox.
Let’s hope the last carousel I ever need will have this option.
I just can’t find it. Can you help me enable swiping on mobile devices for the Lightbox?
Kind regards (I will not renew support for an inherit broken function)
Hello, swiping only work if Animation option is set to Default (Slide).
Hello BoldThemes, thank you for your reply. If you are talking about the settings inside the Image Slider element. This is already set to default. It is the field that also has the small gray text under it saying “If fade is selected, number of slides to show will be 1”. This is set to Default. But when I open the image in Lightbox the only way to navigate is using the arrows. I also tried it with Navigation arrows set to ‘hide’ hoping it would then understand I don’t want to use them and instead swipe to navigate the Lightbox, but unfortunately selecting ‘hide’ did not even hide the arrows in the lightbox, and also did not help enable swiping. The only way to navigate is still using the arrows, or tapping on the picture to show the next one.
Slick is used only for slider items (not for lightbox). Currently it is not possible to use swiping in lightbox. We will try to address this in one of the upcoming updates.
Hello BT,
Last update was 17 October 2023, is there any estimated time of arrival on this update?
Hello, this is related to Bold Builder plugin, so probably before end of June.
Thank you this would be very welcome instead of having to incorporate a 3rd party plug-in. Before that could we adress the issue where blog posts in the archive page are not clickable inside the image? If you want I can send you the link to my website for confirmation. If you hover over the blog post the black shade comes up on the picture and the image becomes unclickable, even tho in the bottom left of your browser window it does see the hyperlink you are hovering. Forcing you to navigate to the blog article by clicking on the title below the image.
Hi,
Please send us the link to your website so we can take a closer look at the issue.
Thanks.
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
Hi,
Please try adding this as custom css:
.bt_bb_latest_posts .bt_bb_latest_posts_item .bt_bb_latest_posts_item_image:after {
pointer-events: none;
}
It should do the trick.
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
Good afternoon. After transferring the site from old domain to the new domain and activating the theme Addison, the admin panel WP is blocked – an error: 502 Bad Gateway. How to activate Theme at new domain? Or I need to renew support for 49$ to get help from BoldThemes? Thank you
Hi,
The theme itself does not have any requirement related to the domain – no activation or domain registration is needed.
You should update your theme and the Addison plugin to the latest version – https://documentation.bold-themes.com/changelog/addison-changelog.txt and after that, as far as the theme is concerned, no additional action is required.
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
In a clean install of the theme including demo content, after changing the logo in the customizer it only changes on the standard demo page, on all other demo home pages it still shows the Addison demo logo. Please advice on how to repair the theme so the logo functionality comes back.
For everyone who is looking, they put an “override” logo per page you have to find first
Hello,
I just Uploaded “Version: 1.4.4” and now I can’t open Customize page and when I return do wordpress default theme it works fine.
Please check the following screen: https://prnt.sc/sIxz81SvrHfu
Hi,
Can you please tell us which version of the Addison plugin are you currently using?

Hello
I need to hide the header and the footer of my website in a specific Landing page, and didn’t find the option, could you help me?
Thanks,
Hi,
The easiest way is this:
1. Hide the header by adding the following to Custom CSS field of that specific page (you can find Custom CSS button at the top of the Bold Pag Builder Interface – click the button and the field will show up)
.mainHeader, .btVerticalHeaderTop {
display: none;
}
.btContentWrap {
padding-top: 0 !important;
}
2. Remove the footer by adding the Override Global Settings (bottom of Bold Page Builder Interface) for Footer Page and set its value to empty string in the second dropdown
3. Save the page and Header and Footer will not be visible,
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
Hi! I just purchased and installed the theme onto my existing business website.
Once I install the demo content, will that delete my current site files?
If so, is there a way to simply ADD the demo content without losing my existing content? I know you suggest a fresh WP install but I need a way to recreate the look of the demo pages without losing my well-indexed and well ranking website.
Or is there a way to see the structure of the demo pages so I can recreate their look?
Hi,
Thanks for the purchase.
In your case we recommend installing Addison using fresh WP instance locally (together with demo content),
Also, you should install Addison and all required plugins on your current site without importing the demo content.
Once you do both, you can use Bold Builder’s clipboard import export features to copy and paste desired page elements or entire pages from your local installation to your currently running WP instance.
There is one more way to transfer pages from our demo to your current instance.
If you add ?btextract=true to any of the urls on our demo (for example https://addison.bold-themes.com/main-demo/?btextract=true in the case of https://addison.bold-themes.com/main-demo/ You will get a page structure – if you follow the instructions on the page, you will end up with the page with the same structure on your site
Note that in either case images will not be transferred automaticaly – you will need to replace the image related properties of the page elements with the images from your site’s media library
Should you need any additional support in the process of customization, please submit a ticket at our support site – https://boldthemes.ticksy.com/ and our support team will be glad to assist you.
Thanks in advance.

This is helpful – THANK YOU! And thanks for the quick reply.
Hopefully, the double installation for this purpose is ok per the license.
Update: The URLs with page structures was the best solution. And the Bold Builder editor works really well!
I’m not a web developer – just self taught. And this is easily one of the most well built themes I’ve ever purchased – thank you!

my website responses 503 after update on 31.03.2023. i have this error: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function get_option() in /home/u0113830/public_html/wp-content/themes/addison/index.php:3 Stack trace: #0 {main} thrown in /home/u0113830/public_html/wp-content/themes/addison/index.php on line 3
Hi,
If you have updated the theme, please make sure that the Addison plugin and Bold Page Builder plugins are also updated. Addison plugin should be the same version as the theme.
The cause of the error which you are getting is, in most cases, related to the outdated theme’s plugin.
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
These theme will cause an excessive DOM size issue in google page speed insights <body class=”home page-template-default page page-id-1 bt_bb_plugin_active bt_bb_fe_preview_toggle btHeadingStyle_default btHasAltLogo btMenuCenterEnabled btStickyEnabled btHideHeadline btLightSkin btBelowMenu noBodyPreloader btHardRoundedButtons btTransparentLightHeader btNoSidebar seraph-accel-view-cmn btMenuCenter btMenuInitFinished btRemovePreloader btMenuVerticalLeft btMenuVertical”>
Hi,
That is a good point and here is the explanation:
DOM size is really the matter of content and page structure. In order to provide unlimited flexibility in terms of layouts and cover all options, the DOM of themes with page builders certainly have some overhead in terms of number of DOM elements and css – and that is the case with all themes based on builders, not only ours.
If you wish highly optimized DOM size and CSS, you should not use page builder based themes. You should build the custom theme optimized for your design from the scratch.
You can not expect station wagon to reach 0 to 60 mph in 4 seconds. On the other hand you can drive your 3 kids, luggage and dog comfortably in it.
It is on the end user to keep the page structures (and thus the DOM) within the desired limits.
We certainly were not optimizing for DOM size in our demos since we wanted to showcase all different elements, layouts and functionality.
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
Thanks, sorry I was upset yesterday. Just got hired by an agency that uses your themes. I haven’t used themes in years, it can be frustrating for a custom developer to jump backwards. You theme is easy to use for an average user..

Thanks a lot, no hard feelings at all

Your demo does not show the portfolio. https://addison.bold-themes.com/main-demo/portfolio-grid-three-columns/ look like you tried to use Magnific Popup for your theme. If you did have it working, would the pop up show the title of the image? I previously purchased your theme and in the last version I have, the code does not work to show the title inside the figcaption . If your demo site actually showed the portfolio working id consider updating my license to get the fix.
Hi,
Thanks for contacting us and thanks to the heads up – it was a caching issue on our hosting, we have purged the cache and https://addison.bold-themes.com/main-demo/portfolio-grid-three-columns/ should work now without issues.
Indeed the magnific popup in our single portfolio image gallery currently does not display the caption of the image – we will add that in the next theme update.
Kind regards,
BoldThemes team
Hey, looks like the cache issue happened again on your demo sites. Does the portfolio pop up gallery now show the image captions?
Hi, after purchasing and installing the theme and plugins woocomemerce included, I tried to import the demo but the import is blocked at 0%. Please Help me.

Hi,
Sorry for a longer delay, but we have tried to recreate the issue in our local environment. Without success. For some reason the ajax call during the import procedure never gets the response.
None of the errors in your error log are related to the issue – the fatal errors you are encountering are caused by the Bold Builder at the moment when demo content and demo content are not present (theme or theme plugin are deactivated at the moment)
The theme works in our php 8 environment without issues.
In the process of import, the import plugin downloads the images from our server, one by one and inserts them into your WordPress instance. Once it finishes, it inserts all the posts from xml.
In the case of your environment the xml parsing and image download procedure never ends.
As we can not help, at this stage we can only offer the full refund
Please submit your refund request here: https://themeforest.net/refund_requests/new and we will approve it.

Hi, Do you have a HTML version of this theme?
Hi, no, there is no HTML version.
Hi, I’m thinking of buying the Addison theme. I just wondered, is it possible to use the side menu as used on your demo here: https://addison.bold-themes.com/main-demo/landing/portfolio-oriented/ but on one of the other demos? I’m thinking I’d use the Minimalist demo but I’d like to have the side menu. Is that possible in the options? Thanks
Great, thanks!
After automatic upgrade to 6.0 WP our posts and products doesn’t load on page. We downgrade to 5.9, and issue is still not solved. On error log I get this:

Please verify.

I dont know if that is issue, that’s the last error-log … but we have that problem all the time. Maybe something wrong with manson grid media?
And when I delete cache, it’s working a day or two
Hi,
The issue from the log is related to the hosting server environment and does not influence the theme functionality, so it is not the cause of the issue.
The thing is this, grid uses ajax to load the posts. If you are using caching plugin and after the cache purge everything seems ok, this means that the ajax response is being cached by the plugin and that the cached version of the response becomes invalid after a while.
Since we are not familiar with inner working of the specific caching plugin you are using, the best option is to contact the plugin authors and check how to overcome this – perhaps there is an option to exclude the ajax endpoint from caching altogether, or something more efficient.
Kind regards,
