I’ve followed the instructions for woocommerce but each time I try there is an issue. When going through the process it isn’t registering that the payment has been made and still shows the “You must select a subscription plan” message. I’m a month behind my anticipated launch date as I simply cannot get the subscriptions to work. Any ideas???
I have now tried several PayPal plugins with WooCommerce (WooCommerce PayPal, payment plugins for PayPal, payment gateway for PayPal), only the PayPal standard appears to work with updating members subscription… This however does not work with recurring payments which if I’m being honest is a massive factor for myself and I imagine a lot of others who use this template. Without recurring payments you’re asking users to pay manually every time the current subscription expires which will in turn drive people away from any site using this theme. The recurring payments feature is an important feature for any site running this theme and I feel it needs to be addressed and fixed as a priority
Is there any chance you can look into this? Without recurring payments it’s going to drive customers away from the site
I read all your comments. But I didn’t respond yet. Cause I am thinking what to do.
As I know PayPal recurring payment is not a good choice. It is not convenient.
I will respond more later. I need some time to check all ways.
Regarding the subscription that is not activated after payment through WooCommerce. Actually, WooCommerce fully controls payment process. Payment plugin activated in WooCommerce is responsible for sending and accepting the payment details to the payment gateway server.
If the payment order in WooCommerce does not get activated after the payment process , then the payment plugin has not been setup correctly.
The payment shows as complete in the PayPal plugin but on the customer side it shows that a subscription is still required. There’s obviously something that isn’t connecting correctly and the only one that does update the subscription status is PayPal standard but I can’t get recurring payments to work with that one
I did another test this morning, the payment is showing in the PayPal plugin but not in the datebook plugin so there’s obviously an issue with the connection between the two
Please, do not enable the recurring payments with PayPal. We could not make it work correctly. PayPal is not good for recurring payments. Only one-time payments are good.
I already explained in my comment above. It is up to the PayPal plugin and WooCommerce to send and accept payments. PayPal works correctly on our side.
Ok, I will post the PayPal settings of our site here below. You can try them.
It looks like you did not fill in something in the PayPal settings on the PayPal site.
We have installed these 2 plugins on demo 2 site: WooCommerce PayPal Payments and Restore Paypal Standard For WooCommerce.
Now go to our demo 2 site https://demo2.pagickthemes.com/mypage/checkout/
There you can see 2 PayPal options: PayPal and PayPal Standard. Try to pay through them both. They both work correctly. After the payment on PayPal is done, the subscription becomes activated automatically and immediately.
Here is the test login for PayPal with which you can make payment:
Username: sb-gyl2p21933378@personal.example.com
Password: 7@I2zjWH
I’m getting there but still having issues, I’ve sent an email with login details for my website
The parent order updates the customers subscription correctly, but when the renewal order payment comes through this does not register with the theme and the subscription changes to expired instead of active even though the payment has been made
Hello, I have a big headache: the system does not send an email to the user when receiving a message I checked all the settings; they are okay. I also installed a WP Mail SMTP plugin, but that didn’t help. What needs to be done to get the system back up and running?
Hi. You only installed the WP Mail SMTP plugin. But now you should setup it fully. Select the mailer -> enter your email account details.
Also. You should look deeper for the problem. In your hosting server settings, or mail server or at least PHP settings. Not in WordPress or even in the theme.
The theme uses the “wp_mail” function of WordPress -> WordPress uses the “mail” function of PHP -> PHP uses the mail function of your server -> your server uses the SMTP of your mail server.
It has nothing to fix in the theme and WordPress, or even PHP.
Hello, after installing the wp mail sntp plugin, I made the necessary settings and tested sending the email. The system successfully sent the email Screenshot: https://prnt.sc/k5YZD9gJlcpu , which was received successfully Screenshot: https://prnt.sc/y5PSk4whpCpF , The system sends emails successfully, for example, after a new user registers, a confirmation link is sent to their email, Screenshot: https://prnt.sc/HjSfPOWJ2VDd , and this link is successfully received by the user’s email Screenshot: https://prnt.sc/fTZ1_fyOzgf2 . This follows that both the server and WordPress are working correctly; the only problem is that the theme is not sending emails to notify the user that a message has been received.
Ok, I see. Do you use an old version of the theme? Which version?
This issue with the new message notifications has been fixed in the latest versions 6.7+
The last DateBook version is Version 4.8.9, but I am using version 4.7.9, because with the last Version 4.8.9, sending messages is not working at all!
Hi Pagick, Can you help me with the problem, as we have established, the problem is not in the Server or WordPress installation – there is an issue in the theme..
I see that support is still available, I will give this a try, but the random uploading got me suspicious of your intent? maybe a error ? this is messing up my seo of my website and should not be happening, it is uploading random posts titled with numbers and letters and not sure why or how
reached out for support and got nothing, asking for a refund for this product
Good day. Yesterday we were out of the office. We did not work. I apologize for not answering. I will answer all your questions today.
It would be better if I could install the theme for you. I see something strange things happen on your site.
Could you send me the login credentials please? Thank you. Email info@pagickthemes.com
hello, you mean the admin login details right?
Hi. Yes right
hello I created and sent the details over to your email, I appreciate the assistance will leave a nice review
Hi, I received your email message with the login credentials. But this account is very limited and does not allow me to enter the WordPress Administrator panel.
Sorry, I could not do setup the theme. Without full access, I cannot do anything.
Hi Pagick.
I don’t know if you read my answer below about the modification to make the translations work. I tried what you suggested but it doesn’t work. At the moment the latest version 4.8.9 only allows those who have the website entirely in English to work without problems while those who have multiple languages active are objectively a mix between the selected language and the English language.
I kindly ask you to fix this bug, I intend to go online to the public but this way I can’t. I personally use LOCO translate plugin only for my language (Italian) where I customized the destination of the file (custom path) and the file itself with translations of some modified words, but here too nothing works.
Basically I would like it to work like the previous version again and be able to use LOCO translate as I always have.
In any case even the translations provided by you with the theme/plugin are NOT selected when using the language selector.
When do you think you can solve this problem?
Thanks
Hi RaCLD. After WordPress update 6.8, the translation stopped working properly. All developers in the world faced this issue. As a temporary solution, I could suggest to rollback WordPress down to 6.7.1 – 6.7.9, and DateBook 4.8.5.
At least we are working hard on the translation issue. Hopefully there will be an update tomorrow with a fix.
Thank you for reminding about this issue.
Thanks.
On my live site I am on the latest version of Wordpress and version 4.8.8 of the theme/plugin and everything seems to still work (at least the translations, I don’t know what else to look at).
I found the problems on my staging site where I also saw that many strings were removed and many others replaced (I mean from the Italian translation), can you confirm this or is the removal/change of translation strings due to this bug?
Thanks for your time
Hi. I found out from some developer forums that the latest WordPress 6.8+ has an issue with translation.
Solution: rollback to WordPress 6.7+.
Do not use WordPress 6.8+!
I have always been told that usually the best thing to do (in terms of security) is to keep the latest version of wordpress and rollback the theme version and not the other way around, also because wordpress updates are NOT that frequent.
Are you planning to fix the Datebook bug with the current version of Wordpress 6.8+ or wait for the new version of WP to be released to fix it?
Thank you
No. This issue cannot be fixed. We don’t know what happened in WordPress. It seems like WordPress developers made a mistake somewhere in WordPress. I don’t think anyone knows how to fix it yet.
Please do not forget about the optimization and loading speed of the website from the datebook. I noticed a dramatic slowdown when opening the user part of the site. Whereas the administrative part loads quickly.
Yes. We will start working on the speed optimization. Thank you.
Thanks!
Version 4.8.9 has not been translated into Russian at all. I mean both the administrative part of the datebook and the user part.
Thank you. The issue will be fixed. This happened after the WordPress update 6.8

Hi, Pagick! WP has just released an update for its translations. Please check if he corrected the Datebook template.
Woocommerce has also been updated to version 9.9.3. please also check if datebook 4.8.9 is compatible with it.
Hello, I received an update notification for the Datebook theme with version 4.8.9 and I would like to know if the topics converted into categories are finalized and how exactly I could do that, or what specific update was made to the theme with improvements, thank you! I sent 3 emails without receiving a response, which is not fair, seeing as I have 4 months of support left, it’s really a joke because you don’t provide proper assistance.

15 days ago Flag Hi. Here are changes:
Version 4.8.9 (19 May 2025):
- Fixed: limit of user in chat counted wrongly. - Fixed: text domain displayed error. Ok, from the comments I found out about the update to version 4.8.9, but I’m interested in finishing this problem of converting topics into categories, please work hard on this so I can launch the site, I’m looking forward to it every day and the seconds don’t pass to see this problem solved because I can’t move forward, thank you!
Hi tenciuionutiulian. I did not forget about your request about categories in classified ads. I am just thinking how to realize it. Because, we have to make modifications in the theme settings and some files. We are thinking about optimal way. Please, give us a few more days. Thank you for your patience.
I understand, thank you, best regards.
I would like a refund as this product has not been stably working since purchase no matter what was tried with it
hellos, having some troubles with getting the basics of things setup, now the theme keeps crashing my site at worldofdate.com what would be the best solution to this?
Good day. I need to see your WordPress admin area. After that, I will be able to find the reason why your site keeps crashing. Email for the login credentials info@pagickthemes.com

Hello.
I repeat after 8 days of no response and solution to the problem reported, that version 4.8.9 continues to create problems with the NATIVE translations of the theme.
I also checked the DEMO 1 version on your site and even though I change the language, MOST of the menus remain in English even if I change the language to French-German Spanish and so on. You can see this from the various menus of the various settings pages.
I answered in the comment below.
How can I find the moderation panel? The navigation in the Moderation panel doesn’t work. No matter which button I press, it takes me to the Home Page.
The moderation panel is only available if you use the DateBook theme. If you use some page builder, then the moderation panel is not available. In this case, you should check for new profiles in the WordPress admin area: WordPress -> Profiles
Lots of sections on my website are not working: 1. When you click on the register and login buttons, nothing happens. 2. These items are not displaying on my dashboard >> https://prnt.sc/pV6BKNcC9O43 3. Search functionality is not working. 4. These are not clickable and don’t work at all. >> https://prnt.sc/gYT6i1F80edP 5. I’ve selected an image for the background of a profile page, but it’s still displaying images that came with the theme. 6. How do I change the “Date of birth” on the home search area to “Age”? Thanks
It looks like you have not completed the installation of the theme. Please, do the following:
1) Activate the theme with your purchase code here: WordPress -> DateBook -> License.
2) Go here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Theme Installer -> follow all 3 steps.
3) Go here and re-save the Gender field: WordPress -> DateBook -> Custom Fields -> open the Gender field -> save it.
4) Upload the background images for featured profiles here: WordPress -> Media. After that, go here and select those images: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Featured profiles -> click on the “Featured background images” -> select images you uploaded before.
5) Go here and select the home page: WordPress -> Settings -> Reading.
6) You can change the Date of birth here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Custom Fields -> open the “Date of birth” field for editing -> change the title -> save.
Actually, the step 2 above can install everything. So, if you have no success or the theme does not work properly, then start the installation of WordPress from the beginning and follow step 2.
Here is a guide on how to install the theme https://www.pagickthemes.com/how-to-install-or-update-datebook/
Also, if you want, then we can install and correct everything for you, for free. Email for the login credentials info@pagickthemes.com
Hi, I need your help. After the last update, I was flooded with complaints from users that their messages were not being sent. It turned out that there is a serious problem, and it is currently impossible to exchange messages between users on the site. Please help.
Hi. Do you mean the messages in chat? If yes, then disable the cache of RRST in your cache plugin.
The chat system works /sends messages through WordPress REST API.
Hello, The site’s caching is disabled. I ran a test and tried to send a message. When I press the send button, nothing happens – the message remains in place in the window, and the send button becomes inactive.
Hi. It is difficult to say why message does not go. Could you give me a link to your website? I will check it.
OK, the link is: www.dvama.eu
Hello, were you able to find the reason why messages on my site are not being sent?
Hello, could you help me? After the last update, the site stopped working.
Hi. I checked your website. You site uses caching and pagespeed and other security modules on the server. Your server blocks everything. I could not even register on your website. When I tried to register, I filled in the registration form and clicked on the Submit button. Your server redirected the registration form to the page that displayed the message like “We are checking you are not robot….”.
Check and correct your server. We can not do anything with it. It is all up to you.
I restyored old theme version and this solve the problem
Hi, Pagick!
Some profiles have a main photo selected in the profile, but it is not shown. The profile is shown without a photo. Can this be fixed?
https://www.screenpresso.com/=ooNRSwOQLvnlHi, MihailovRA. Yes, I know about it. It happened before. But I don’t know why it happened. I checked all the functions that delete the main photo. But I couldn’t catch the reason.
So we created a special function that saves all the profile data in an additional database location that can be automatically restored later.
You don’t need to click on anything or restore something missing in the profile. Everything should be automatically restored. Just go to the profile page. The theme always checks all the data. If something is missing, the theme restores the data.
Please I need help. My homepage is showing force login to visit how can I fix this so visitor can visit homepage instead of login first
Check if the home page is selected here: WordPress -> Settings -> Reading.
I’ve now setup woo commerce and followed your instructions… however when doing a live test the payment goes through but doesn’t register with the datebook theme. The customer still sees that they need to subscribe as it isn’t registering the payment with the theme, but it is showing is woocommerce
Do the following:
1) Select this option: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Subscription -> Registration and Subscription order -> Registration + Subscription
2) Select this option: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Subscription -> What kind of Subscription to use? -> WooCommerce.
3) Select the DateBook pages in the WooCommerce settings here:
- WordPress -> WooCommerce -> Settings -> Advanced -> select the “Profile – Cart” in the filed “Cart page”
- WordPress -> WooCommerce -> Settings -> Advanced -> select the “Profile – Checkout” in the filed “Checkout page”
- WordPress -> WooCommerce -> Settings -> Advanced -> select the “Profile – Subscription” in the filed “My account page”
That’s all that can be done with the DateBook theme. After that, you should check your payment plugin settings and payment gateway settings.
Here is a guide how to setup WooCommerce (all steps are important) https://www.pagickthemes.com/documentation/subscription/woocommerce-subscription/
Where can I download an older version of the theme? The translation does not work. A fatal error periodically appears… I changed several hostings, but this unpleasant error does not disappear! I’m trying one last time and giving up on this theme….
Try to install the latest update 4.8.9. It has the fix for translation.
The problem is not in the theme. Read below.
Try to download and save these translation files from this folder onto your desktop on your site:
1) /wp-content/plugins/datebook/languages/datebook-bg_BG.po
2) /wp-content/plugins/datebook/languages/datebook-bg_BG.mo
After that, translate them by help of Poedit. After that, upload those files back on your site.
As I see, you translated up to 21%. So, there may be problem with encoding in the Bulgarian language.
At least, you can delete those 2 files above (datebook-bg_BG.po and datebook-bg_BG.mo) and create your own ones with Loco Translate or Poedit.
This is my translation with a poedit, so far they have been perfectly readable… translation takes a lot of time, and I can’t do it again every time…this 21 percent is enough for users…everything necessary for them has been translated…
Could you take a screenshot of fields you translated in Poedit and a screenshot where this word must be translated?
It is not clear what does not work.
Hi. I found out from some developer forums that the latest WordPress 6.8+ has an issue with translation.
