Hi, Pagick!
Some profiles have a main photo selected in the profile, but it is not shown. The profile is shown without a photo. Can this be fixed?
https://www.screenpresso.com/=ooNRSwOQLvnlHi, MihailovRA. Yes, I know about it. It happened before. But I don’t know why it happened. I checked all the functions that delete the main photo. But I couldn’t catch the reason.
So we created a special function that saves all the profile data in an additional database location that can be automatically restored later.
You don’t need to click on anything or restore something missing in the profile. Everything should be automatically restored. Just go to the profile page. The theme always checks all the data. If something is missing, the theme restores the data.
Please I need help. My homepage is showing force login to visit how can I fix this so visitor can visit homepage instead of login first
Check if the home page is selected here: WordPress -> Settings -> Reading.
I’ve now setup woo commerce and followed your instructions… however when doing a live test the payment goes through but doesn’t register with the datebook theme. The customer still sees that they need to subscribe as it isn’t registering the payment with the theme, but it is showing is woocommerce
Do the following:
1) Select this option: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Subscription -> Registration and Subscription order -> Registration + Subscription
2) Select this option: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Subscription -> What kind of Subscription to use? -> WooCommerce.
3) Select the DateBook pages in the WooCommerce settings here:
- WordPress -> WooCommerce -> Settings -> Advanced -> select the “Profile – Cart” in the filed “Cart page”
- WordPress -> WooCommerce -> Settings -> Advanced -> select the “Profile – Checkout” in the filed “Checkout page”
- WordPress -> WooCommerce -> Settings -> Advanced -> select the “Profile – Subscription” in the filed “My account page”
That’s all that can be done with the DateBook theme. After that, you should check your payment plugin settings and payment gateway settings.
Here is a guide how to setup WooCommerce (all steps are important) https://www.pagickthemes.com/documentation/subscription/woocommerce-subscription/
Where can I download an older version of the theme? The translation does not work. A fatal error periodically appears… I changed several hostings, but this unpleasant error does not disappear! I’m trying one last time and giving up on this theme….
Try to install the latest update 4.8.9. It has the fix for translation.
The problem is not in the theme. Read below.
Try to download and save these translation files from this folder onto your desktop on your site:
1) /wp-content/plugins/datebook/languages/datebook-bg_BG.po
2) /wp-content/plugins/datebook/languages/datebook-bg_BG.mo
After that, translate them by help of Poedit. After that, upload those files back on your site.
As I see, you translated up to 21%. So, there may be problem with encoding in the Bulgarian language.
At least, you can delete those 2 files above (datebook-bg_BG.po and datebook-bg_BG.mo) and create your own ones with Loco Translate or Poedit.
This is my translation with a poedit, so far they have been perfectly readable… translation takes a lot of time, and I can’t do it again every time…this 21 percent is enough for users…everything necessary for them has been translated…
Could you take a screenshot of fields you translated in Poedit and a screenshot where this word must be translated?
It is not clear what does not work.
Hi. I found out from some developer forums that the latest WordPress 6.8+ has an issue with translation.
Solution: rollback to WordPress 6.7+.
Do not use WordPress 6.8+!
In register form I can’t add full of Email there is error. Also I have problems with loco translation I put some files but not translated in /plugins/datebook/languages You can check this website (https://misjarazem.pl/registration/)
It seems a bug. Please, remove the character limit in this field, here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Custom fields -> “Po zaznaczeniu opcji TAK, wpisz datę swojego chrztu.”

Hi Pagick.
I installed the latest update 4.8.9 but after that many words are in English instead of Italian.
I use LocoTranslate and the child theme. I had never had a similar problem after any update. I use my LOCO file that I modify from time to time but this time it doesn’t seem to work.
I read in another comment that you recommend updating in Datebook > Dashboard > Language > Update the percentage of translated languages BUT THIS FUNCTION IS NOT PRESENT
Thanks
I would like to add that I have the selector active with 7 languages in total and it happens also in other languages (not only Italian).
Many words remain in the native language. Loco Translate has dedicated files (in my case I customized the files for my language) but the fact remains that the theme does not implement the files of the selected languages.
PS: I also did the test with only datebook active and the problem remains
Hi RaCLD. If you uploaded the theme files on FTP, then please, check the following:
1) Delete this file if it exists: /wp-content/plugins/datebook/languages/datebook-plugin.pot
2) Delete this file if it exists: /wp-content/themes/datebook/languages/datebook-theme.pot
3) Upload a new CSS file: /wp-content/themes/datebook/style.css
4) Upload a new CSS file: /wp-content/themes/datebook-child/style.css
Also, this is very strange why “Update the percentage of translated languages” is not present in the theme settings on your side.
Actually, I am not familiar with Loco Translate very much and what could be wrong.
Here is a guide on how to translate in Loco. Please, see the step “3. Choose a new language”. https://www.pagickthemes.com/how-to-translate-the-theme-in-loco-translate/
Hi Pagick.
I did NOT upload the 4.8.9 theme via FTP (I don’t know where you read that), I always upload it via WP dashboard.
That said, Loco translate is used by me only and exclusively for the ITALIAN language (I have been using locotranslate for a few years now). All other languages are those of the THEME, which I select via the theme’s native selector. With the latest version of the theme, all the theme’s languages are English by default (most of the sentences are in English and not Portuguese, Spanish, German etc).
The files you suggested I delete are not present in the folders you indicated, there is only:
1) a datebook.pot file in the wp-content > plugins > Datebook > Language folder
2) and a datebook.pot file in the wp-content > Theme > Datebook > Language folder.
Then which CSS should I upload? I haven’t touched these files at all even though I use the default child theme. I only customize my css style via customizer function.
Let me know how I can move forward. On my live site I have version 4.8.8 and not 4.8.9 because of this language issue.
Hi RaCLD. The latest WordPress update 6.8.1 has important changes. We had to make some changes to the theme too. Try the following:
1) Open this file for editing: /wp-content/themes/datebook/style.css
replace this text on line 14:Domain Path: /languageswith this text:
Domain Path: /languages/2) Open this file for editing: /wp-content/themes/datebook-child/style.css
replace this text on line 12:Domain Path: /languageswith this text:
Domain Path: /languages/3) Open this file for editing: /wp-content/plugins/datebook/datebook.php
replace this text on line 10: * Domain Path: /languageswith this text:
* Domain Path: /languages/Please, try these solutions. If no success, then try the following below:
Open this file for editing: /wp-content/plugins/datebook/datebook.php
uncomment this line 55 (just remove first 2 lines //):load_plugin_textdomain('datebook', false, plugin_basename(dirname(__FILE__)) . '/languages');and comment this line 70 (just add 2 lines at the beginning):
// load_plugin_textdomain('datebook', false, plugin_basename(dirname(__FILE__)) . '/languages');
Hi Pagick.
I tried to apply the first solution (add the slash at the end of languages in the various positions you suggested) but without success, then I also applied the second solution of not commenting on line 55 and commenting on line 70 in /wp-content/plugins/datebook/datebook.php, but again without success.
I want to point out that I made the second change while keeping the first change (the one where I add the slash at the end of the word languages). However, I noticed that on line 50 there is also the word ’/languages’ and I wondered if I should change it with the final slash:
load_plugin_textdomain(‘datebook’, false, plugin_basename(dirname(FILE)) . ’/languages/’);
In any case, the languages remain almost entirely in English even if I click on German, Spanish, Portuguese etc. I also noticed that this bug is still present on your demo site1.
I remind you that everything worked in version 4.8.8 and everything was regular (even with my ONLY “custom” file in Italian for LOCO).
I await your news
Sirs, When will the review of uploaded photos be fixed before they are published, to avoid nude pictures? I see this feature is still not available in the updated version.
Thank you!
I hope this week
Hi,
What’s the link to the changes in the latest update/version?
Hi. Here are changes:
Version 4.8.9 (19 May 2025):
- - Fixed: limit of user in chat counted wrongly.
- - Fixed: text domain displayed error.
Hello I translated the template and plugin into my country’s language with the Loco plugin, but every time you update the template, it messes up my country’s language. What is the solution? I also sent you a photo in an email.
Hi. Yes, the translation in the last version of the theme has wrong function. This happened due to the last WordPress update 6.8. WordPress made changes that caused us to make wrong function.
Today, the next update 4.8.9 has fix for this issue. Please, download it today later.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
Please, what do you think I should do now to solve this problem? The translation is 100% done, but in the settings dashboard where I want to activate the language tick, it shows 0%.
This link must update the percentage: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Languages -> click on “Update the percentage of translated languages”.
Notice: actually, this percentage counts translated words in the DateBook plugin. Not in the DateBook theme.
It means, you should translate the language files in this PLUGIN folder: /wp-content/plugins/datebook/languages
The percentage problem in the plugin dashboard is correct, now the problem is with the translation file of the theme itself, I sent you the photos in the email I have the template file translated 100% and I uploaded it, in the Loco plugin the template section also shows the percentage complete and when I click edit the translation section is also shown correctly but when I click sync, everything breaks down and gives this error message: Warning: Reverting to source extraction because datebook-theme.pot does not exist
Did you install the theme update 4.8.9? I see you are using the version 4.8.8. It has wrong changes due to WordPress change 6.8.
But the latest theme update 4.8.9 has corrected all changes in the translation files.
Please, install it.
Also, since you use Loco Translate, save your translations in different folder. In this guide, see step 3 https://www.pagickthemes.com/how-to-translate-the-theme-in-loco-translate/
I restored the site to the previous date and installed version 4.8.9 But now when I click on template translation in the Loco plugin, it shows that all the characters have been translated but the percentage is zero When I click on sync, it shows 288 untranslated items There are two sections in the plugin, one is the author and the other is the system I sent the photos by email

I am not familiar with Loco Translate. Sorry.
Is the recurring payments going to be a working feature? This is an important feature for my site.
The recurring payment in the DateBook theme will be stopped. It is difficult to develop. Because PayPal Standard is not convenient choice for recurring payments. But the recurring payments may work in WooCommerce. Therefore, such payments are fully under WooCommerce control. It means we can do nothing with it.
When doing a live test, I got an email from PayPal stating that an automatic payment had been set up (there was a part which says “payments stop after cycle – 1”)... followed by another saying it had been cancelled. This would suggest to me that the setup works but it is being told to stop after 1 payment. Is there any way to fix this other than woo commerce as I feel that customers will soon get tired of having to keep renewing the subscription manually and it will lose customers.
Sorry, I don’t know.
I’ve managed to setup the WooCommerce PayPal settings but there’s another issue… The initial payment works and updates the subscription status of the user. However, when the recurring payment is made, the status of the subscription in WooCommerce shows as active but in the Paid Members section of the theme it changes to expired
Hi, *it is normal that when i update the theme, i lost some translations in Registration page (Create profile, Username, Password, By submitting date you agree…), and in some others fields too? because it’s not useful to check and translate it every time when you update your theme. in your description you wrote that theme is translated into 12 languages. but it seems is not complete, because i continue to see a lot words in English. where can i modify all the strings translated?
Hi. The latest update 4.8.8 has some wrong modification. WordPress 6.8 made some changes that caused us to make some changes in the DateBook theme as well. But this change was wrong.
The update with the fix will be available very soon. I hope tomorrow.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
nice, with this last update, now everything works normally
Great!
Hi! The new version 4.8.8 still has translation issues. And now there is a new problem – the icons of social networks in the basement of the site are not displayed.
Hi. I will check them all. Thank you.
Please respond to my questions. My home page is neither showing the mosaic pictures nor the countries. I tried to use the shortcodes for the mosaic pictures on the Elementor pages but it doesn’t work. (omalicham.com) Please advise
Enable this option: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Profiles -> Normal profiles: show on Homepage.
But disable this option: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Profiles -> Show with images only.
Select 30 profiles in this option: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Profiles -> Normal profiles: quantity to show.
If number of profiles are fewer than this option, then profiles will not be displayed. So, always have these option lower number than you have profiles.
Also, I see your site has no menus. Select the menus here: WordPress -> Appearance -> Menus. It is highly recommended to select Primary and Footer menus.
Hi, I hope you’re doing well. I have a couple of questions regarding the [Datebook theme] 1. Does the theme support sound notifications for scheduled events, reminders, or messages? If so, could you please provide details on how those sound alerts work and whether they can be customized? 2. Additionally, when someone sends a text message through the website, how is it delivered to the recipient to ensure it doesn’t go unnoticed? Are there notifications (with sound or visual alerts) to inform the receiver immediately, and is there a way to adjust or manage those notifications?
Hi. 1) DateBook has sound notification for messages. When a user online and receives a message, then a small popup window with sound appears on the site.
You can check it here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Chat and Messages -> Sound of popup notification
2) When someone sends some text in the chat, then an email message is sent to another user’s email box.
You can check it here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Chat and Messages -> Check for new messages every.
But if a user is still online, then no email is sent to a user. Instead, a user receives a notification right on the site. See screenshot https://ibb.co/CKhGkWXt
What is the status of adding Couples profiles? Been asking for over 2-years now and this was purchased because you said you were going to have them soon. Well?
Right now, I will complete this feature. Just give me 1 week please. Thank you for reminding and patience.
Figured I’d give you more than 1-week, how’s it going? Thx
Hello Pagick, I had an issue with the search form on the front page, but that is partially resolved. The registration page does not have any forms on it. Not sure why they are not there. The profiles are not displaying for the featured on the front page and the countries are also not there. Please let me know…. omalicham.com
Hi Ability09.
1) Registration form. I see the registration and login links do not display on your site. Enable them here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Login and Register -> Show Register and Login links
2) You can check and add fields in this registration form: WordPress -> DateBook -> Forms -> open this form “Registration form” for editing -> add fields.
3) Select the registratyion form here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Pages -> Registration page.
4) Featured profiles can be enabled here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Featured -> Enable Featured status.
Enable this: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Featured -> Show Featured profiles on Homepage
5) Enable countries here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Countries -> Show Countries on Homepage
Also, recount countries here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Countries Installer -> click on “Recount”.
Thanks. I found out that the registration and search forms were empty. I had to use the default settings. Also, the registration form does not work when clicked. What could be the problem?
3) Select the registration form here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Pages -> Registration page.
Activate the theme here: WordPress -> DateBook -> License.
Try these 2 solutions. If not success, then let me know again please.
Hi, where to translate “Women”, “Men” at footer where display Countries?
Hi. Women and men are usual words. They have been translated into several languages: Dutch, German, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Chinese, Turkish.
You can enable those languages here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Languages.
If you want to translate words into your own language, then use Loco Translate. Here is a guide on how to use Loco Translate https://www.pagickthemes.com/how-to-translate-the-theme-in-loco-translate/
Hi. 1. you wrote that is translated in french, but in WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Languages, there is not French language. 2. i use already loco, but anyway, i don’t see where some words as “Women”, “Men” need to be translated, and many others in registration form for example. i translated in registration, but doesn’t appears
Hi. Yes, I see. Please, rollback to previous version of the DateBook theme to 4.8.7.
The latest update 4.8.8 has some wrong modification. WordPress 6.8 made some changes that caused us to make some changes in the DateBook theme. But this change was wrong.
The update with the fix will be available very soon. I hope tomorrow.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
Hi, i cannot so easy backup: it’s on VPS where others websites, and i don’t want to lost all last things :( it’s a pity. so, i will need to check all what missing and lost, and do it again? :(
Hello Pagick. I sent you an urgent email about the search form not showing on the homepage (omalicham.com). I have not heard anything. Could you please respond. Thanks
Hi amos09. Icons are not displayed correctly on your site. This is because Elementor loads and old Font Awesome. Here are 2 solutions. Use one of them:
1) Disable Font Awesome in the Elementor settings.
2) Enable this option: WordPress -> Appearnce -> Customize -> DateBook -> Force load latest Font Awesome.
Hi, Pagick!
Please tell me how to delete photos from deleted users? Lots of photos in Uploaded: (no author)
There weren’t that many of them. I deleted them manually.
Good day. Actually, all photos must be automatically deleted when a profile gets deleted. There are 3 ways to delete profiles:
1) Administrator can delete a profile only on the Moderation panel. See screenshot https://ibb.co/fqZGrSY
2) Administrator can delete a profile in the Administration Dashboard, on a profile page. See screenshot -> black button “Delete profile” https://ibb.co/h9myvnv
3) The theme has the cron function that automatically deletes profiles set to delete. When a user clicks on the “Delete my account” button on the “My privacy” page.
In your case, I have no idea what to do. Sorry.
Hello, I would be happy to extend my support, but the chat isn’t working on the website, and I’m still waiting for a solution. complices-a2.fr What’s the situation?
Hi. I will check it today.
Excuses Hello, I would be happy to extend support, but the chat is not working on the website, and I’m still waiting for a solution. compliques-a2.fr I can’t launch the site to the public…
Good day. Please, check the cache plugin. Disable the REST caching. The chat works on REST. So REST must not be cached.
If it does not help, then try to deactivate all plugins. Perhaps, some plugins break the functionality of javascript files.
