Hello, how can I add an option like Tour, Subscription or Settings to the user menu? I want to add an option called Search to the menus with the search shortcode that is in the Datebook settings shortcodes section, but I did not find any option among the options, please help.

Hi. You can add Tour, Subscription or Settings to the user menu here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> User menu -> enable your items in “Display menu items in Header”.

The search shortcodes like [datebook_search_form] can be used on the Search page only. Not in the menu or other unusual places.

Do you have any updates on the amount that its showing in the cart and woocommerce report when the subscription is free based on gender?

The orders in woocommerce are still showing “paid xxxx.-” and for accounting this will mean I actually earned that amount and have to pay tax for it.

Please let me know when this will be fixed. I’d rather not play around with reports to remove those amounts and my annual tax report is coming up.

Actually, you must set the price the same both in WooCommerce Product and in Subscription plan. In this case, the amount will be exactly what you set.

For example: go here WordPress -> WooCommerce -> Products -> open a product for editing -> set the price 0 (zero).

go here: WordPress -> DateBook -> Subscription plans -> open a plan for editing -> set the price 0 and also select a product above in the field “WooCommerce Subscription”.

Done! Now the price must be 0 when a user pays. Everywhere, the price must display 0.

My website has more than 19,000 profiles. The page that lists these profiles loads very slowly — about 10–20 seconds. The reason is that all profile data is fetched at once, and then the pages with pagination (12 profiles per page) are displayed.

A caching plugin is installed on the site, but it does not cache results when a user searches for a specific country or city.

Would it be possible to:

Load the data in parts — for example, only for the first 1–3 pages of pagination initially, so that the visitor can already see the first results while the other pages are being prepared in the background. Implement AJAX-based profile loading when navigating between pagination pages, so that a full data reload is not required. Optimize the queries or the loading structure to reduce response time when filtering by country or city. I would appreciate any advice or implementation examples that could help speed up the site’s performance.

I am using the Date Book theme on WordPress. When sending messages through the site, the [sender_message] shortcode is used in the email template. However, in the received email, instead of normal text, the message appears as Unicode sequences in the \u041a\u0430… format (for example, instead of “Как дела?” it shows \u041a\u0430\u043a \u0434\u0435\u043b\u0430?).

I suspect this happens because the message content is not decoded from JSON before being inserted into the template.

Is there any way in the theme/shortcode settings to enable correct character display? If not, which theme/plugin file should be modified to update the [sender_message] shortcode so that it automatically decodes the text using json_decode() or wp_json_decode() before inserting it into the email? I am experiencing two issues with the DateBook theme:

I am getting the following PHP error: /wp-content/plugins/datebook/definitions/datebook-variables.php on line 1537 Could you please advise how to fix this error? I am unsure which PHP version is recommended for the theme. On PHP 7.4, the theme does not load from the WordPress admin panel. On PHP 8.1, the theme loads, but saving changes in the theme options does not work. Could you please let me know which PHP version the theme fully supports and how to resolve the above problems? Thank you! I found the issue as you suggested, and everything works perfectly now. In some image sizes, there was a dot instead of a comma. No more errors, and it works great on PHP 8.1.

Photos of people are not included in the theme. They are used on our demo site for demonstration purpose only. You should manually upload photos. For this go to every profile page (frontend) -> then to the My photos page -> upload images from your device.

You can download sample images from free source like Freepik.

Hi, this theme looks cool. I played around with the demo, and the part I am struggling with it adding additional payment gateways. Please guide me on this? I would need to run multiple payment gateways at the same time for different countries for difference currencies. Also, if i need to migrate users from an existing WP dating site, how can I do this?

After the update, at some point the plugin starts sending letters like crazy and this crashes the server and the site does not work. Something needs to be done about this, this is not the first time.

Hi MihailovRA. Try to disable this option: WordPress -> DateBook -> Dashboard -> Chat and Messages -> Check for new messages every -> select “Do not send”.

Actually, I have no idea why lots of messages are sent and what kind of letters are sent. But the theme has the notification system. So, this is normal. users write messages in the chat. The theme detects them and sends the notifications by email. But again, it is not clear what of kind of messages you are talking about.

Very important 1. Under Privacy setting >> Who can see my profile >> Add verified users only or verified and subscribed

Do same for who can contact me etc

Or make verification prerequisite for subscription, it solves the problem. This solves privacy and scam issues.

A subscribed user could be found by the victim.

So if verification is made compulsory before subscription then you have blocked thar lookphole.
