Hello,

Thank you for your feedback.

For a quick update, please delete the WPBakery Page Builder plugin from your website first. Then go to Appearance > Install Plugins and install the plugin again. This will install the latest version of the plugin.

At variable product options, is there an option to show them in a drop down menu instead of tabs?

Hello,

Yes, the theme supports that.

Please go to Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Variation Swatches and disable the option “Convert default dropdowns to buttons”.

After turning this option off, the variable product options will be displayed as the default WooCommerce dropdown menus instead of swatches/buttons.

For more details, please check this documentation: https://wcboost.com/docs/auto-convert-dropdowns-to-buttons

Hello, is there a way to put a video in the product signle page instead of photos?

Hello,

Yes, the Sober theme actually supports uploading one video to the single product page.

Please check if the plugin Meta Box is installed and activated on your website. The theme uses this plugin to add an extra custom field for uploading a product video.

Once the plugin is activated, you should see the video upload option in the product edit page.

great, thank you!

Hello —

I’m interested in purchasing the Sober WordPress theme (https://demo.uix.store/sober/) and would like to clarify a number of points before proceeding. Please see my questions below:

1. IMPORTANT POINT: Demo Import & Page/Section Selection

If I import the demo content, will my site replicate the live preview exactly 100% (layouts, fonts, colors, sections, widget areas)?

Is it possible to import only specific pages or sections (for example, the homepage from Demo 1, the About page from Demo 3) rather than the full demo set?

Can I build the site in a modular way — selecting sections individually and assembling them across pages — or is the demo import an “all-or-nothing” approach? (because i read comments about this and some people have problem with this case – demo data), also i need to know if i can change the full colors bakcground of theme, my store logo and Interior Design is all about RED color.

2. Homepage & Site Setup

After demo import, what is the correct procedure to set a specific page as the homepage and avoid the “404 – Nothing here” or broken layout errors when editing with builders like Elementor?

If there are multiple homepage demo versions included, can I switch between them easily (without breaking design/customization) and safely revert if I change my mind?

3. Customization & Page Builder Compatibility

Are all sections and templates of the theme fully customizable via Elementor (or the included builder) — or are there parts that require editing theme files manually (PHP, template overrides, etc)?

Have any known conflicts between the theme and Elementor (or other major page-builders) been resolved in the latest version?

What best practices do you recommend for avoiding fatal errors (e.g., “recent-projects-widget.php” or similar) during theme or builder updates?

4. SEO, URL Structure & Content Types

Does the theme support custom URL structures (permalinks) without forcing prefixes such as /blog/? For example, can I have https://website.com/project/my-project instead of https://website.com/blog/project/my-project?

Does the theme include built-in SEO optimization (schema markup, clean headings, speed considerations) or will I need additional plugins to fully optimize for search?

Are there any limitations in the theme around content types (e.g., custom post types, podcasts, portfolios, galleries) I should be aware of?

5. Performance & Dynamic Elements

Does the theme include built-in performance features (lazy loading of images/videos, CSS/JS minification, caching-friendly structure) or should I plan on installing external performance plugins?

Some users report layout shifts or movement of dynamic text/animations when scrolling (especially with Elementor). Has this issue been addressed, or is there a recommended setting to eliminate that behavior?

6. Plugin Compatibility, Updates & Premium Inclusions

Does the theme include any premium plugins (e.g., Elementor Pro, WPBakery, Slider Revolution) in the license, or will I need to purchase those separately?

How often do you release theme updates, and are plugin updates bundled or dependent on me updating plugin licenses?

If a third-party plugin update (e.g., Elementor, WooCommerce) causes a compatibility issue with the theme, do you provide timely fixes or will I need to manually patch theme files?

7. Forms, Media & Mobile Support

Are there any known issues with contact forms (e.g., form plugin compatibility, email delivery problems) even when using popular form plugins like Contact Form 7 or Forminator? What is the recommended setup to ensure forms work properly?

Can I use a YouTube (or self-hosted) video as a homepage background, and ensure it loops continuously without showing YouTube suggested videos at the end?

Users report that background videos sometimes fail to display on mobile (showing a blank background instead). Have you optimized mobile fallback behavior (e.g., static image fallback) for this?

8. Support, Documentation & Long-Term Viability

What is your average response time for support requests, and what kind of support is included (theme bugs, third-party plugin conflicts, customizations)?

Are there any known compatibility issues with the current version of WordPress (and major plugins) that might affect future updates?

Is full documentation available (installation, customization, troubleshooting) and is the theme actively maintained and updated for long-term use?

I’m excited about using this theme for my blog/podcast/website, but I’d like to ensure it’s a good fit and that I’m aware of all potential limitations before purchase. I appreciate your time and detailed response. Best regards, Hassan hassan93radi@gmail.com

Hi Hassan,

Thanks for such a thorough list of questions!

1. Demo Import & Page/Section Selection

The demo importer lets you import individual homepage demos rather than the full set, so you’re not locked into an all-or-nothing approach. That said, for a fully modular “pick sections from different demos” setup, the best path is using Sober’s built-in Elementor template library — it gives you access to pre-built sections and blocks you can mix and match freely on any page.

Colors are customizable via the Theme Customizer, so switching your brand to red is completely doable. However, the theme is designed for white color scheme, so you can’t adjust the background color without using custom CSS.

2. Homepage & Site Setup

After importing, the homepage is set automatically. Switching between homepage demos is safe; you can import a new one and reassign it without losing other pages.

3. Customization & Page Builder Compatibility

Sober supports both Elementor and WPBakery, but it’s not a fully Elementor-native theme. Pages like the single product page, shop/archive pages, and other WooCommerce templates use the default templates — these aren’t editable directly with Elementor (this is a WooCommerce/WordPress architecture limitation, not specific to Sober). Custom content pages are fully editable with Elementor.

4. SEO, URL Structure & Content Types

Yes — Sober doesn’t force any URL prefix. Your permalinks are fully controlled via Settings → Permalinks, so website.com/project/my-project is completely achievable. For SEO, the theme outputs clean, semantic HTML and follows best practices, but for full schema markup and advanced SEO control, a dedicated plugin like Yoast SEO or Rank Math is recommended. The theme focuses on WooCommerce and doesn’t include built-in custom post types for podcasts or portfolios, so those would need a plugin.

5. Performance & Dynamic Elements

The theme is built with performance in mind — it supports lazy loading and has a clean, lightweight structure. CSS/JS minification is not a built-in feature of the theme; for that, we recommend using a caching/performance plugin like LiteSpeed Cache, WP Rocket, or W3 Total Cache. For scroll animations with Elementor, you can adjust or disable motion effects in Elementor’s settings to eliminate any layout shift behavior.

6. Plugin Compatibility, Updates & Premium Inclusions

The theme license includes WPBakery Page Builder and Revolution Slider — both bundled at no extra cost. Elementor Pro is not included; the free version of Elementor works with the theme, but Pro features require a separate purchase. We release theme updates regularly as WordPress, WooCommerce, and major plugins evolve. Bundled plugin updates (WPBakery, Revolution Slider) come through theme updates — no separate license keys needed.

7. Forms, Media & Mobile Support

No known compatibility issues with popular form plugins like Contact Form 7 or Forminator — either works fine. For YouTube video backgrounds, the theme supports it and you can use the ?autoplay=1&loop=1&playlist=VIDEO_ID&controls=0 parameters to loop without showing suggested videos. Background videos do not play on mobile by default (this is browser/OS behavior, not a theme bug) — a static image fallback is supported for mobile.

8. Support, Documentation & Long-Term Viability

Our guaranteed response time is 24 hours, though in practice most replies come within 2–6 hours. Our team is based in GMT+7, so time zone differences may account for any delay if you’re in a different region. Full documentation is available at https://docs.uix.store/sober/, covering installation, customization, and troubleshooting. Sober is actively maintained and regularly updated for compatibility with the latest WordPress and WooCommerce versions.

Hope that covers everything! Please feel free to ask if anything needs more detail before you purchase.

Bug in Sober broken HTML in WooCommerce checkout (form-login.php)

We encountered a critical issue in Sober theme version 3.6.2 related to the WooCommerce checkout page.

After updating the WooCommerce template `woocommerce/checkout/form-login.php` (from version 3.8.0 to 10.0.0), an HTML markup inconsistency was introduced.

Issue description

The closing `` tag (around line 53) is always rendered for non-logged-in users, while the corresponding opening tag:

```html ```
is only rendered when the WooCommerce option **“Enable login reminder on checkout page” (`woocommerce_enable_checkout_login_reminder`) is enabled.
When this option is disabled (which is a valid and common configuration), the opening ` ` is not rendered, but the closing ` ` still is.
Result
This creates an invalid HTML structure and prematurely closes a parent container of the checkout form.
As a result, the entire checkout layout breaks:
  • Order review table shows incorrect vertical borders
  • Shipping methods display list bullets
  • Payment checkboxes lose styling
  • Overall checkout layout becomes corrupted
Fix
We fixed the issue by wrapping the closing ` ` inside the same condition as the opening tag:
```php if ( $login_reminder_at_checkout ) { echo ’’; } ```

so that both tags are always rendered as a pair.

Additional note

This issue did not exist in Sober 3.5.7 because the previous template returned early when the login reminder was disabled:

```php if ( ! $login_reminder_at_checkout ) { return; } ```
Recommendation
Please update the template to ensure consistent conditional rendering of both opening and closing tags.
This issue affects checkout layout and may be hard to diagnose, as it appears like a CSS problem while actually being caused by broken HTML.
Thanks.
Hi siyalov,
Thank you so much for your feedback! We’ve noticed the same problem and have already fixed it. We’re going to release a new update very soon.
Hello,
Thanks for your work,
I’m surprised I can’t figure out how to apply a background color to the website pages. I can do it for the header and footer, but not for the body of the pages.
Also, which plugin do you recommend for adding a Mega Menu?
Thank for your help
Hi,
Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately, the theme doesn’t support changing the body background. As for the Mega Menu, the theme has a built-in system for it. You can follow the theme’s documentation here: https://docs.uix.store/sober/#/header/menus?id=setup-mega-menu
Feel free to let us know if you have any other questions!
Hi! I have the product page with style 2, I have deactivated the lighbox, but the lighbox is still activated. I’ve desactivated the lightbox in Elementor (several times). Why do not work? Thanks in advance
Yes, that CSS solution prevents gallery image link clicks. Unfortunately, since this is WooCommerce’s default behavior (images always link to the full-size version), the simple solutions we can provide will have these limitations. To achieve exactly what you want, you’d need custom code to modify the gallery template itself.
Regarding the “Add to Cart” button issue: Our team is already aware of this WooCommerce template compatibility warning and we’re working on an update to fix it. The new version will be released soon.
This happened because WooCommerce recently updated to version 10.5.2, which requires updated templates. You can read more about it here: https://developer.woocommerce.com/2026/02/18/woocommerce-10-5-2-dot-release/
Thanks a lot! The problem with “add to basket” is solved. Now runs again! I’m going to see what can I do with the crazy behavior of woocmmerce… thanks anyway for your support.
You’re welcome! Please feel free to reach out if you need anything else!
Hello, Have been trying to showcase sub category in a vertical left side of the shop, I’m using the sober theme….
I wanto know if its possible, also replace the products catalog tab, that shows up on the shop page, and even inside category page.. Is it possble to replace this with the sub category of the actual categories
Hello,
Yes, you can display categories (including subcategories) in the shop sidebar. The Sober theme includes a widget for this purpose.
Regarding replacing the product catalog with subcategories – this would require custom development beyond the theme’s default features. Please open a support ticket at https://uix.ticksy.com/ and our team will be happy to discuss the best approach for your specific requirements and provide further guidance.
Great, I was able to sort it out, after your response, thank you
Glad you got it sorted out.
Ciao, with the last update there are messed up files with another theme “konte”, please fix this asap, I had my whole website messed up!
Hello,
We’re really sorry about this! We made a mistake and accidentally uploaded the wrong theme files (from our Konte theme) to the Sober package.
We’ve just re-uploaded the correct Sober theme files. Please download the theme again from ThemeForest and reinstall it – your site should be back to normal right away.
Again, sincere apologies for the trouble this caused. If you run into any issues after updating, just let us know and we’ll help sort it out.
Ciao, thanks for the super quick reply and update! (anyway i restored a backup when noticed it) will update again asap! :)
Thanks so much for your understanding, and we’re sorry again for the hassle. Please let us know if anything comes up after you update!
Hello, I am having an issue with the WooCommerce checkout page. The button to accept the terms and conditions is not visible. My customers cannot tick the box and therefore cannot place an order. Could you please do something to resolve this issue? Kind regards
We’ve reviewed your checkout page again and can confirm you did it correctly. The terms and conditions checkbox is now visible and clickable. Here’s a screenshot showing it’s working: https://snipboard.io/Nkv9yJ.jpg
However, the layout and design of the checkout page still looks unaligned. This appears to be caused by custom CSS that’s been added to your website.
Please check Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and refine the custom CSS code to restore the proper design.
Hello, I confirm you that nothing change. The button still not appears that you can see on your screenshot. Please do something.
Hello,
We noticed your checkout template structure appears to have been modified, which is preventing the theme’s default styles from being applied correctly.
Since you’re using a child theme, could you temporarily switch to the parent Sober theme to confirm if the issue is caused by custom code in your child theme?
For a quick fix, try adding this CSS to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS:
.validate-required input[type="checkbox"] {
    margin-left: auto;
    margin-right: 4px;
    position: static;
}
Thank you
Hello, do you have a size guide in a product detail?
Hi there!
Yes, Sober has a built-in size guide system. You can follow this documentation to enable and set it up: https://docs.uix.store/sober/#/shop/size-guide
Version 9.6.0 of sober/woocommerce/single-product/related.php is obsolete. The core version is 10.3.0.
Please update?
Hello,
Thank you for reporting this. Our development team is working on updating the related product templates. We’ll release an update soon.
In the meantime, the template will continue to function normally – this notice is informational and doesn’t affect your site’s functionality.
Since WooCommerce and WPBakery Page Builder plugins have been updated a long time ago, why hasn’t the theme been updated yet? I’m looking forward to the new update arriving soon. Thank you.
Hello,
We’re actively working on the theme update and it will be released soon. We ensure all compatibility testing is thorough before releasing updates to maintain stability for all users.
The current version of Sober remains compatible with the latest WooCommerce and WPBakery Page Builder versions. You can continue using your site without issues while we finalize the new release.
Thank you
Hi, Can we have a demo link to try it on the dashboard side ?
Hi,
Unfortunately, we don’t have an admin demo available for the Sober theme at the moment. However, we do have comprehensive online documentation that covers all the theme settings and features in detail, which should give you a clear understanding of how everything works on the dashboard side.
You can check out the documentation here: https://docs.uix.store/sober/
The documentation includes step-by-step guides, screenshots, and explanations of all the theme options, customization settings, and features. This should help you get a good sense of what the admin experience is like and how to configure the theme for your store.
Thank you
I am getting some form of issue from the theme being outdated in conjunction with Woocommerce. “Your theme (Sober) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce.” Specifically things relating to the checkout page as well seem to be crazily outdated. On my end everything is updated, one of the suggesstions from wordpress was to contact the themes author about this. On my website checkout page everything is grayed out and there are infinitely loading circles on all of the sections.
In Woocommerce I am seeing things such as: “sober/woocommerce/cart/cart.php version 7.9.0 is out of date. The core version is 10.1.0, sober/woocommerce/cart/mini-cart.php version 9.4.0 is out of date. The core version is 10.0.0 sober/woocommerce/checkout/form-login.php version 3.8.0 is out of date. The core version is 10.0.0”
I also can no longer edit the checkout page, I used elementor with Sober and everything was relatively fine but now when I attempt to edit the checkout page I get the following message: “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.” yet the other pages I can edit fine with elementor.
Hello,
Thanks for reaching out. It sounds like you’re using an outdated version of the theme.
Please update your theme to the latest version first. This should resolve the outdated template warnings.
After updating, if you’re still having problems or need help with the update process, please open a support ticket on our official support site.
https://uix.ticksy.com/
Our team can then provide direct assistance and investigate the Elementor critical error if it persists.
Hello Sober Theme development team,
I hope this message finds you well.
We are writing to report a critical, reproducible bug in the Sober theme, related to the native featured video functionality for WooCommerce products.
1. Problem Description: When using the product search on a mobile device, if the search results include a product that uses the theme’s native “Product Video” feature, any attempt to click on that product link fails. Instead of redirecting to the product page, the user is redirected to the homepage. This issue breaks a key part of the mobile user journey.
2. Steps to Reproduce: The bug can be reproduced consistently with the following steps:
On a mobile device, navigate to a site using the Sober theme.
Set a featured video for a WooCommerce product using the theme’s built-in “Product Video” meta box.
Open the mobile search bar.
Search for the product with the featured video.
The product appears correctly in the AJAX search results.
Tap on the product link in the results.
Actual Behavior: The user is redirected to the site’s homepage.
Expected Behavior: The user should be taken to the single product page.
3. Technical Diagnosis: We have debugged this issue and pinpointed the cause. When the search results are rendered via AJAX, the theme’s scripts fail to properly enqueue the MediaElement.js library. This results in a fatal JavaScript error in the browser console: Uncaught ReferenceError: mejs is not defined
This error occurs in the mediaelement-migrate.min.js file and halts further script execution, preventing the click event from being handled correctly. This functionality is part of your companion plugin, Sober Addons, but is failing within the theme’s mobile search context.
4. Request: Could you please investigate this incompatibility and provide a patch in the next theme update? The inability for mobile users to access products from search is a critical issue for our client’s store.
We are available to provide temporary admin credentials or any further information you may need to troubleshoot this.
Thank you for your time and for developing this great theme. We look forward to your response.
Best regards,
Hello,
Thank you for this detailed bug report! We really appreciate you taking the time to thoroughly document the issue with the mobile search functionality and product videos.
Our developer team will investigate this issue. To help us reproduce and test the fix properly, could you please share your website URL?
Thanks again for the comprehensive report!
BodhiAr
Hello,
Thank you for your prompt reply. The website URL is: https://bodhi.ar/
Please let me know if you need any additional details to help reproduce the issue.
Best regards, Antonio
Hi Antonio,
Thanks for sharing the URL. I’ve checked your website and noticed a few things:
1. I don’t see the AJAX search function on mobile – the mobile header shows the cart icon instead.
2. The `mediaelement-migrate.min.js` error you mentioned is occurring on page load, not during AJAX search operations, so it may not be directly related to the search redirect issue.
This suggests the problem might be caused by caching or optimization plugins interfering with the theme’s JavaScript functionality. Could you temporarily disable any caching plugins (like WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, etc) or JavaScript optimization plugins and test the mobile search again?
Hello,
I’m using Style 2 to display products. I’d like to know if it’s possible to move the description, additional information, and reviews tabs to the right column. I don’t see any options, and in all product styles, the three tabs are displayed below the product images (never on the right). Thank you and congratulations on this great theme.
Hello,
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to move the product tabs (description, additional information, and reviews) to the right column. The theme doesn’t include layout customization options for repositioning these tabs on the product page.
The tabs are designed to display below the product images across all product styles, and there’s no built-in setting to change this placement.
If you need this specific layout, you would require custom development work to modify the product page template files.
Thanks for the kind words about the theme! We appreciate your feedback and will consider layout flexibility for future updates.
OK Thanks
Hello, my wooCommerce status is showing a lot of over ride templates that are outdated even though I have updated the theme to the latest version.
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback. Please check if Sober is successfully updated to the latest version (3.5.8). If you’re not on version 3.5.8, please update the theme and the outdated template issue should be resolved.
Thank you for the quick reply. I have checked and I am running the latest version.
Since you’re on the latest version, the outdated templates are likely overridden in your child theme or you may have customized email templates that weren’t updated.
If you’re using a child theme or had custom development work done, please contact the developer who worked on your website. They’ll need to update the template files to match the current WooCommerce versions.
Could you please share a screenshot of the WooCommerce Status report showing the outdated templates? This will help identify exactly which files need updating.
Thank you
We are having the exact same issue as @adminremotto, with the latest version causing the terms checkbox not appearing on checkout.
Additionally, the products table in the checkout page is messed up and misaligned.
The issue seems to be effecting guests. When a user is signed in, everything works fine.
Because of those issues, we reverted to version 3.5.7 from 3.5.8.
Today we encountered another issue on the checkout page: The coupon_code field is completely missing from the html, and the buyer is unable to submit their coupon.
I don’t know if the last issue is specific to 3.5.7 or is it fixed on 3.5.8. But since the latest version seems to have issues, we can’t risk and upgrade again.
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback! The missing terms checkbox can be manually enabled by editing your Checkout block.
Here’s a screenshot showing exactly where to find this setting:
https://prnt.sc/bPWwg9K-C6rW
With other issues, they look like a cache-related problem. The guest-specific nature of these issues strongly suggests caching problems where logged-in users bypass certain cache layers.
Please clear all caches to test this issue again.
Thank you
Hi there, I’m currently using your theme for my WooCommerce store and I’ve encountered a critical issue on the mobile version of the checkout page. The checkbox to accept the “Terms and Conditions” is not being displayed at all, which prevents customers from finalizing their orders.
I’ve already tried disabling all plugins to rule out conflicts, but the issue persists. The field appears correctly on desktop, but it’s completely missing on mobile devices.
Could you please advise if this is a known issue with the theme or if there’s a workaround I can implement? I’m using the latest version of WordPress and WooCommerce.
Thanks in advance for your support. Best regards
Thanks for your screenshots. I’ve reviewed your website and noticed that all the theme CSS for the checkout page is missing. This explains why the layout appears broken and the checkbox isn’t displaying properly.
It should be displayed as shown in this screenshot: https://prnt.sc/cmuqgaajxd4_
Did you modify any theme files? This often causes CSS to break.
To fix this, please reinstall the Sober theme. This should restore the missing CSS and fix both the checkbox and layout issues.
Hello! I’ve already reinstalled the theme but the problem persists. How can I get the previous version? I didn’t modify any files. I just updated the theme as always
If you need the previous version (3.5.7), please contact us using the contact form on our profile page:
We can provide you with the earlier version there.
