EComposer is a third-party app that offer as an additional tool for those who want ultra-specific. However, it is not required. We actually recommend mastering the theme’s native settings first before adding any external builders.
Page builders have limitations—for example, EComposer cannot edit or customize your site’s Header. Kalles handles the header, footer, and core site logic that a builder simply can’t touch.

encountered a critical issue with version v5.2.1. On the product page, when I set: • Other variants selector type: Dropdown the dropdown variant options stop working correctly. When a customer selects a variant from the dropdown (for example, phone model or protection level), the product variant does not actually change, and the selected option is not applied to the Add to Cart action. This makes it impossible for customers to choose the correct variant. This issue is reproducible on multiple products and occurs even after clearing cache and testing in different browsers/devices. It is very important for my store because I rely on dropdowns for variant selection on the product page.
There seems to be a bug in the dropdown option that needs to be fixed.

Tutorial is not clear. There is no way to simply show all the products under a sub category in mega menu. Was very easy in previous version. Now this simple task is a nightmare.

Yes, you can update the theme with One-Click Update using the EcomRise app. This feature applies to versions that share the same core for example, updating from 5.1.0 to 5.2.0, since both are based on core version 5.
