WooCommerce 2.0 is still in beta stage. So far, the known compatibility issue with the theme is that the class name prefix were changed from .woocommerce_ to .woocommerce- (i.e. underscore is changed to hyphen). That will be fixed by a quick search and replace inside woocommerce/woocommerce-custom.css file.

Besides that, minor CSS changes (like, one for pagination on product pages) will be required. For that, I will place an update as soon as the plugin version is released. There are still known issues with the plugin which are in progress of clearing.

Yes it is possible to use the theme as catalog. The shopping related features are available only when you have installed WooCommerce plugin. If that plugin is disabled, the theme won’t show any section related to e-commerce. In that case, you can show product items by creating standard posts and display them using built in portfolio and blog templates.

While creating a blog page with template, it is required to provide category IDs inside the page options panel. If the numeric category IDs are not provided, there will be no posts to show, and it will display as “Not found”.

Deleting and re-creating new page will append URL names as blog-2, blog-3, etc. That can be changed by editing the page URL that appears just below the page title inside editor. I hope that will help.

.nav1 > li a { ... font-weight: bold; }

You can change it to normal, or remove the font-weight property.

Product image sizes can be configured inside WooCommerce > Settings > Catalog > Image Options. Here, make sure you have the following settings:

Catalog Images: width [240] Height [999]
Single Product Image: width [370] Height [999]
Product Thumbnails: width [90] Height [999]

After making these changes, save settings and regenerate thumbnails so that the new sizes can be generated.

This may happen if the “Force secure checkout” option is enabled inside WooCommerce > Settings > General > Checkout and accounts > Security. This option doesn’t work well on checkout page. You can try by disabling this option, and also try by switching the theme to twentytwelve for a while. This is related to server settings and secure checkout option of plugin.

done that. thanks. one more question: now on my index appears blog posts and shop items are on : domain.com/shop. I want shop items on main page like in the xing demo and blog posts on domain.com/blog. How i do that?

Front page can be set inside Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays > A Static Page. Here, set front page to “Home” and posts page to none.

This “Home” page shall be created using a new page. Inside this page, you can place the slider short code, recent products, and featured products as shown on live demo. You can find the dummy content for this page inside your_download_zip/dummy_data/home.txt file.

You can find more details on starting setup and theme configuration inside your_download_zip/documentation/index.html file. I hope you will find it helpful.

Thanks for browsing the theme. The top menu comes with theme, and can be made hidden via theme options panel.

The “Coupon and affiliates” link is just a dummy text to show you can place any custom callout text in that place. That could be an offer link, a contact link, or any other useful information. Please do not get confused with actual affiliate links.

Actually I like that concept. I would like to have option for affiliates and coupons for customers. What I have to do to make it work ??

Also I would like to have more text in listing. What I need: Pictures of products to be smaller and I would like to have some text around it.. At least 4-5 words. I would like to use your theme to sell digital products and SEO services. So I need at least small description.

Please advice.

Hello Kris,

The theme uses WooCommerce Plugin for shopping related features. So any such feature that the plugin provides, will be supported by the theme. For example, you can manage coupons and also sell Digital/Downloadable products.

The products page shows a product thumbnail and product title by default. In order to show small description, it may require to modify core files, or override plugins core feature using some code. (Unfortunately, I would not be able for customization).

Yes it is a known issue. A fix is to remove the following code at around line no. 18 inside header.php file:

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width" />

This code should be disabled when we turn off responsive.css from theme options (which doesn’t happen right now). I will fix this in next update. My apologies for this inconvenience.

If using any custom color scheme file (like blue.css or cherry.css), color values can be changed inside this particular file. For example, if you are using blue color scheme, open xing/css/schemes/blue.css file and search for #113366. Change this value to hexadecimal red, say #cc0000 at all places where #113366 appears. This will trun the blue.css into red color scheme.

Thanks for purchasing the theme.

The Pinterest sharing is available for single posts inside social sharing section. This has a different functionality as compared to the social icons (follow) widget. The ‘Sharing’ button actually looks for featured image associated with a post, and pins it on the site. This can only be used on single post with the built in feature (as provided). Or alternatively, you can copy the pinterest button sharing code and use inside a text widget in sidebar.

On that link, you will notice that the page URL and image URL needs to be dynamic. So a fixed URL may not work properly for entire site. That’s why we use it only on single posts.

The account / shopping bar is there in code. So it may appear in some browsers. This can be made hidden in two ways:

1. By adding this rule at the end of style.css file:

#account-bar { display: none; }

2. Or removing it from header.php file by commenting out line no. 47 and 48:

//if (class_exists( 'woocommerce' ))
 // get_template_part('woocommerce/account-bar');

Any of these methods will work for hiding the account bar.

While copying entire menu CSS, these two rules also get copied:

.ss_nav select { display:none; width:100% }
.ss_nav_top select { display:none; width:100% }

Due to which, the drop down menus hide permanently. So make sure you do not copy these lines. Also, if you are including the widths again, they will not work for responsive layout. That’s so because user.css is loaded ‘after’ responsive.css.

In case when all the code is copied, it will be required to include appropriate responsive media queries at the end of user.css file too. For that, kindly send me a mail at xconsau[at]gmail[dot]com. I will send you a file with all rules included. You can edit it accordingly.

Exclusive sidebars are only for pages and posts. The WooCommerce ‘shop’ is basically an archive. Exclusive sidebars doesn’t show on archive/category/search/author etc.

If you use the products short code on a custom page, you can enable exclusive sidebar on it. For example, create a new page with exclusive sidebar configuration and use a [recent_products] short code in it. This page will display all products, along with your custom sidebar.

In that case too, if you click on a product, the single product view will use default sidebar. (As the single product is neither a page nor post; it’s a custom post type product).

Thanks for your reply. That helps a little, however i need to use Ajax layered navigation that only works on a defined woocommerce page. So as far as i can see i cannot use short codes for this.

Please advise as i have tried everything to force the sidebar to load.

Since the Layered Nav widget works only on shop based archives, it can be used on Default Sidebar. By doing so, it will only appear on shop and product archives in default sidebar. Whereas on other pages of site (which use default sidebar), this widget will not appear. So you need not assign Exclusive sidebar here. Simply use the widget, and it will only appear on shop based pages.

Can you send me the custom-tab1.php file. I’m not sure what are the contents of that file. But this error occurs when the code is using anonymous function (closure). Anonymous functions were introduced in php 5.3.0. So if your php version is below 5.3.0, this code may not work. I can tell further if I look at the code. May be there is just a syntax error.
