I hope you’re well. I’ve worked a lot of the theme out from playing with it and reading the comments section. I’m happy with how its starting to look. I’ve a few bits I need help with please. My URL is: www.nickidm.com
1. Pre purchase I asked:

How do I go about displaying my blog posts in the masonry style? I’ve tried adding shortcode to the actual blog page and I’ve looked through the blog options with no success.
2. I’m struggling to add widgets to my blog side bar… I’ve selected sidebar in the Bracknic blog panel and added widgets to the 1,2,3 sections of the widget panel but they don’t seem to be showing. What am I doing wrong?
3. How can I remove titles from the Portfolio Item thumbnails in my work section? I thought to just remove the titles in the post and save but this seems to only work for some.
4 the portfolio slider in the linked portfolio section expands to a full screen slideshow when the image is clicked. Is it possible to disable this full screen slideshow?

1. On new page insert Brankic Shortcode -> Portfolio and choose your blog category. If featured images have different proportions masonry style will be used.
2. In Brankic Panel -> Blog yu can choose to show/hide sidebars on blog page and blog single pages…
3. Try to add this in Extra CSS in Brankic Panel
.item-info {
display:none;
}
4. You have to edit slider.inc.php and remove A tag around IMG tag near the end of the file…

1. I created a new page, assigned it as my blog in wordpress settings-reading, added portfolio shortcode to the page trying both “blog type” and “uncategorized”. I’ve also tried a bunch of the page attribute blog template options with the above to find the posts (different proportions) still run in a vertical line down the page rather than in a masonry style. I’ve also changed the blog category in the Brankic custom fields also in the blog post to no effect. What am I doing wrong?
2. I’ve chosen sidebar in each option in the Brankic blog panel. I’m still not seeing a sidebar on the blog.

I’ve tried to get the blog showing the masonry style a bunch more times but I’m still not getting anywhere.
My Blog page (assigned as blog page in wordpress) has portfolio shortcode inserted. I’ve tried changing the shortcode settings to the blog type options:
[bra_portfolio title=’’ cat_id=’1’ no=’-1’ show_filters=’yes’ columns=’4’ shape=’’ height=’’ hover=’yes’]
Once saved I've changed the Blog Category in the Bracknic custom fields to match that in the shortcode. (in this case, Blog Category is "Blog") I've also tried changing the templates in page attributes and the Blog Page.I also have also changed the options on the Blog Page to show sidebar and I’m still not getting one.

You have to leave empty Settings -> Reading -> “Posts page:”
Try to use default permalink setting. If it’s looking fine, than it’s because you have same slug for page and category (and in that case WP use category layout)

1. You can change error message to successful in page-contact(-2).php
2. You can use some other contact plugin, but you’ll have to delete page-contact(-2).php from theme folder if your page slug starts with “contact”
Have already mailed you about this weeks ago, here it is again; What has happened to Face Book share button on blog posts and portfolio pages, only the Twitter button is visible on the site now and along with your demo site. I swear I had the Twitter, Google & FaceBook buttons all in place and now as I say it is just Twitter. Please help here as this should be simple & basic stuff …

Check your Chrome settings. There were similar problems due to some Chrome customization…

I’ve included some custom and external links as child items on the primary menu at www.cup.ca. On these items, I notice some extra formatting (looks like an extra indent) on the left of the text. An example of this can be found on the first link under “Services”. How would I go about correcting this? (I suspect that it’s a PHP solution but I’m not a PHP expert.)

When I check the source, I can see empty link before newswire. Does it make any sense ?
Not sure why that extra, empty link is being created—it seems to be an URL with the page ID for a page that’s not actually being accessed. (That seems to be what’s making the indent). To get the external custom link, I’m just using an tag as the page title since only pages show in the menu. Should I be using a different approach to create an external custom link for your theme?

I have really enjoyed learning this theme. I am having one major glitch I cannot figure out. Every time I put in the button code below and replace the url with my url on my site, it continues to go to brankic1979.com. I don’t even have it plugged in the code anywhere on the page yet it keeps linking to it. How can I remedy this? Thank you!

Due to my mistake, if your page slug is contact-something-or-nothing contact page template is used. You can disable contact page template if you change slug to something different than “contact”
Or, you can delete page-contact(-2).php from theme folder…

I am trying to override the parent style.css with a child theme. I created a folder in the theme directory, which contains my child theme stylesheet -- style.css./* Theme Name: BigBang-ChildTheme Description: Theme Based On BigBang Author: Brandon Version: 0.0.1 Template: docommerce */
When I activate my child theme, everything works fine but my child stylesheet is not overriding!
Do I need to change something in header.php?

I just uploaded the theme & tried to activate it. I got this error response:

Now I get this error every time I try to visit my WP admin page, or the site itself. So I have no more access that way (FTP only).

I have accidentally deleted all of the portfolio categories and now after creating a new parent category (Portfolio) and assigning new portfolio posts under the aforementioned, nothing is showing up on the main portfolio page. Has anyone had this problem and do you know how to resolve it?

1. I like the option to show only the beginning of a post in the main blog page, but I wish I could choose the length of this extract. I tried to use the “insert more tag” option in the blog editor, but apparently the theme overrides that. Is there a way to use the “more” option?
2. In a blog post, are the extra images only working with a featured image, or is it possible to create a slider in the middle of a blog post?
Instagram photostream questions:
3. Unlike what happens in a portfolio, the titles of instagram pictures can be long, since they are often comments more than titles, and it causes problems in my photostream.
Overlay: the title is cut whatever the shape option. Shown here in circles [IMG]http://i49.tinypic.com/6hokyf.jpg[/IMG]
Square option: the titles that are too long to fit the light grey box are not truncated, you can see that they appear in the white space between 2 images [IMG]http://i48.tinypic.com/25utbp0.jpg[/IMG]. While the page loads, you can also see long titles overflowing over the background, but it disappears once the page is loaded.
Is it because of something I have(n’t) done, or is it a bug? Is there a way to have just the square pictures and no title and grey box at all, unless you click on them and open either the instagram link or the Pretty photo image?

1. You can use Excerpt field below the editor. There you can insert whatever you want. More tag isn’t working in our theme…
2. Only on the top of post you can use slider. Of course there are tones of slider plugins which you can use…

When I googled wordpress excerpt missing, I found that for some people, it became a hidden option that you can show in the screen options, but I don’t have it in the screen options either.
OK, sorry for the multiple answers to myself, I tried using Chrome instead of Safari, and I found excerpt in the screen options. I guess I’ll use Chrome when I have a post to write from now on!

How do I change the text that is displayed in the area above the category archives ?

If you create a page and choose category Stories and page template Blog you’ll have same layout and possibility to edit heading of the page.
But then the page would be a different url than the category page. And that page would be duplicate content as the category. Is there a way I can just change that line of text?
