Love the Dawn theme. One thing i’m stuck on is how to change the headings on the front page for: “Our Services” “Recent Projects” “blog” Driving me nuts, is it in views ? or do i need to go into the PHP.

Many Thanks Andy

Hi evokea,

Thanks for your purchase. The titles for the homepage views can be changed at “Structure > Views” by modifying the title fields in the “Dawn: Homepage” view.

If you have additional questions, please send me an email through my author profile page and I’d be happy to help. :)

where is the css file to RTL ?

it is not right to left support ?

Hi aziz_alsafadi,

Yes, the theme does support RTL—but it’s not in a CSS file. Please refer to the “Localization” section of the theme documentation for instructions on setting up RTL. :)

If you have any questions, please send an e-mail through my author profile page and I’d be happy to help out.

Does these theme support multiple sidebar options (Left Sidebar/Right Sidebar/Both Sidebars?)

Hi alejanic,

The theme supports left sidebar, right sidebar, and both sidebars. I hope this info helps. :)

Mitch is a nice and helpful guy who went out of his way to help us with our own themes. If you buy his theme(s) you will get top notch support :)

Thanks for your kind words, refaktor. :) I hope you were able to get everything set up like you wanted!

I did, thanks for asking. Couple updates went out yesterday and the rest are going out today. Thanks again!

Hi everyone,

If you purchased the theme before June 12th, 2013, you can find instructions for upgrading to v1.1 of the Twitter API on our support forum.

Thanks!

Twitter upgraded their API on 11th so the theme plugin stopped working, but you immediatly released an update on 12th. Amazing! We’re glad we purchased this one!

It’s very very valuable this so active support. Thanks.

No problem, Fundaciocim, thanks for your support. :) Keeping the plugins in the theme up to date with the latest technologies is very important!

This theme and developer are phenomenal. I had several questions and custom features that Mitch helped me with, within two hours each time – with detailed and precise instructions for implementation.

Fantastic developer and great customer support.

Thanks a lot, nightstream! :D I’m happy to hear you’re liking the theme and the instructions for the tweaks were easy to implement.

This Theme Is Awesome

We are working on a large scale project and have been searching for the perfect theme as a base for a while. We wanted the combination of bootstrap and Drupal. Other themes in this category seem to be put together by either people who understand drupal but aren’t great designers, or people who understand design but not drupal. This theme puts it all together. Plus, the revolution slider module is worth the price of this theme in and of itself. I started to try and put together similar and realized it was going to take a lot of effort, so i went looking for a different slider, given the wow factor of the revolution slider, these guys have hit it out of the park by integrating it in an easy to use, intuitive way. I’m blown away!

Chuck

Thanks for your kind words, Chuck! :) We’re glad to hear the theme is working out well for your project and the slider module suits your needs.

New to Drupal. I’m on step 4 of the installation and once I initiate the restore, the screen goes to this:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare revolution_slider_field_schema() (previously declared in /home/content/11/10874011/html/ihousing/sites/all/modules/revolution_slider/revolution_slider.install:25) in /home/content/11/10874011/html/ihousing/sites/all/modules/sites/all/modules/revolution_slider/revolution_slider.install on line 182

I’ve already deleted the database and started over and get it again. Please advise.

Hey darthkyle,

I see what the problem is based on those error messages—the sites folder exists in two different locations. If you look at the differentiating paths in the error messages, you’ll see what I mean:

First message: /home/content/11/10874011/html/ihousing/sites/all/modules/revolution_slider/

Second message: /home/content/11/10874011/html/ihousing/sites/all/modules/sites/all/modules/revolution_slider/revolution_slider.install

The second message shows that a duplicate copy (the bolded text) of the sites folder exists inside the sites/all/modules folder. Once this duplicate copy is removed, everything should function as expected. I’ve uploaded a screenshot that shows exactly how the file structure should look when you upload the theme files:

Great Theme & Support

This is a beautiful theme and ideal for displaying my 3d modelling and rendering work. Support from the author Mitch is outstanding, and he is always willing to help with quirks of any new theme. Highly recommend the theme and author.

Thanks for your kind words and support, redka. :)

Everyone,

If you need support, please don’t hesitate to contact us. I don’t understand how rating a theme of this caliber one star will improve your situation.

Thanks!

Hi There, When I perform a fresh install of this theme I get a internal error after I restore the demo. I go to the front page and the demo is installed and I am logged in and I see the admin menu but whatever link I click on gives me a internal server error. Thank you very much for you assistance with this as my server says it’s your code thats breaking the site not theirs and I have never have had this happen before with a Drupal install so I am out of the loop on the fix. I am sorry to bug ya – I really do love this theme and want to run my video gallery, my online portfolio, and royalty free files with this lovely work of art you have created! Cheers, Johnny http://banfflakelouisewallpapers.com

Hi Johnnyispy,

I’m sorry you’re having problems. Internal server errors are server side issues, not client side, so it’s unlikely that the theme itself is causing the problem. I see you’re on Bluehost and I have a good idea of what is causing this error (it’s related to memcache, which is not setup on Bluehost by default).

Please send me an e-mail on my author profile page for next steps. We should have you up and running in no time. :)

Thanks!

Hi Kreativside,

We’re glad you like the theme! I agree that this feature would be a good addition—I’ve added it to our to-do list for the next theme update, you can expect to see it added sometime early next week.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi very cool theme !

Just one small thing , it would be really cool if it was possible to add more than 1 picture on portfolio items. This way you would click on an portfolio item , and then there would be previous and next buttons to look threw some pictures from that project.

Hi there! When responding to your post I created a new comment by mistake (see post below). You can expect to see this feature added soon. :)

Hi,

Is there a HTML option for this? Instead of having to install this through drupal? Also is there any form validation included in the modules?

Hi daicast,

Currently there is no HTML option for this theme but I could probably put one together given a few days notice (just keep in mind that the license allows for the use in only one end product). Are you having trouble getting the theme setup in Drupal?

In regard to form validation, the theme comes with the CAPTCHA module. To enable this module, navigate to the “Modules” link in the Drupal admin UI.

Once the module is enabled you can assign CAPTCHA validation to forms at “Configuration > CAPTCHA” in the Drupal admin. I hope this info helps! :)

I was hoping for a html equivalent vs drupal actually. I thought the drupal would be sufficient but it appears to be more complex than I have hoped for.

If you can provide a HTML that would be great. Let me know, I’ll be interested.

Sure thing, I’m going to quick run this past support to make sure I can distribute an alternate copy—if for some reason this breaks any licensing rules, I should be able to release an HTML version in an update to the Drupal theme here on ThemeForest.

Can you contact me via my author profile page so I have access to your e-mail address? Thanks. :)

This looks great and I am very interested in this theme, mainly because it supports RTL. I have one question though:

I want to use this theme for a website that doesn’t need highlighted content or slide shows. Is it easy to remove all these extra stuff in the theme or do I have to install it as an installation profile? I am asking because I noticed that many of the themes that comes with installation profile do not work out of the box if yo plan to use the theme only.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

Mohamed

Hi Mohamed,

Thanks for your interest. :) Modifying the homepage is very easy with this theme—the slider and highlighted content can be removed in just a few clicks. If you assistance with this we would be happy to help out on our support forums.

The theme comes with two installation options:

1. Installation w/demo content
2. Installation without demo content

If you don’t want all of the extra stuff, choose the “existing installation” option found in our documentation when installing the theme. This will install the theme out of the box with no extra content.

Hope this info helps! Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you so much. I will buy the theme now and I hope you support me when needed :-)

No problem! We’re here to help, please don’t hesitate to ask for assistance on our support forums when needed. :) Thanks for your interest in the theme!

Hi,

Just a quick question before i buy this theme. The logo i want to use is pretty big, boxed design. Will i be able to use a logo that is 2x the width and 3x the height of the demo logo used “dawn”? if so, when i resize the screen, will the responsive design still work properly with new logo?

Also, the theme css doesn’t work in the old IE. The text in the slider doesn’t have css and the Tag cloud in the footer as well as the tag on blog is a vertical list. Will it be fixed in future release?

-Thanks

Hi there, thanks for your interest. I’ll address each question individually:

1. A boxed logo should work fine on mobile if the logo is centered, however we may need to make a few small CSS tweaks for the fullscreen version (just to make sure the navbar height doesn’t stretch). If you need assistance with this we’d be glad to help out on our support forum. :)

2. Thanks for pointing this out—these elements use an RGBa background which is not supported by IE7. I’ll be sure to add fallbacks for IE7 soon in the next theme update (and fix the alignment issue with the tag cloud).

Hope this info helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks for the reply. Since i will be customizing the template, will it be easy to update in future without resetting my settings?

Yeah, the changes wouldn’t be too complex—it should only take a few lines of extra CSS at the bottom of the dawn.css file.

Hello I purchased this theme and like it a lot. After installing the demo content as outlined in the documentation I’ve got the following error on every page:

Strict warning: Only variables should be passed by reference in dawn_process_region() (line 319 of ....sites\all\themes\dawn\template.php). I made the following modification to resolve it I replace the line $vars['search_box'] = drupal_render(drupal_get_form('search_form'));

with this two:

$get_form = drupal_get_form('search_form'); $vars['search_box'] = drupal_render($get_form);

as I am not programmer myself is this the right way for this?

Hi NexusStar,

We’re glad you like the theme! :) Thanks for pointing this warning message out. Your code looks good to me—I just tested it on my local installation and everything seems to be functioning properly. Did this fix take care of the message you’re seeing?

If the warning message for some reason persists, feel free to post a message on our support forum or send an email on our author profile.

Hello

Nice work … I am seriously thinking about purchasing this template :)

However, I really need a “newsletter” option within my interface. The function needs to allow entry of users email details (with a captcha to avoid bots) and then for me to create a “newsletter” email within a template to send to registered users.

Is this something you are able / planning on adding to the theme any time soon?

Hello again, thanks for the prompt response. A Standard newsletter would be ok to start but ideally the ability to select html would be an option too going forwards

That should be doable—we’ll add a standard newsletter option to the list of features for the upcoming update. If the situation were to arise in the future where you would like to start sending out HTML emails you can always open a thread on our support forum for assistance.

Hello, new update is now released with HTML / standard format newsletters. :)

Awesome Theme ;) I like it man!! That’s why I wish you good luck with sales ;)

Thanks, we’re glad you like the theme! :D
