nice theme. couple questions:
1. do you use shortcodes in your pages to get the grid layout?
2. are you using something like bootstrap to make the site responsive?
3. are you using retina.js for retina images?
4. does your theme use a page builder like Visual Composer?
Thank you.
Hi,
Here are my comments:
1 – Yes;
2 – Zurb fundation;
3 – No. On retina devices the themes loads larger images in size and scales them into a smaller size;
4 – No. You can check the page creation process here: http://www.screenr.com/DHy7
Thanks!
Hi I love the look of this theme and the ajax gallery, my client would like to have multiple galleries, where the featured item on the central ajax gallery page links to another page with a themed gallery of images. Is this possible with Quest? I know it’s possible with some plugins (portfolio slideshow pro) but don’t know how compatible it would be with the ajax gallery. Thanks for any info, we love this theme and would love to work with it. Kat
hi,
Let me see if I understood you: you want these page thumbs http://www.munto.net/quest/with-ajax-gallery/ link to pages that are similar to this (it’s possible). Then those pages will behave exactly like this http://www.munto.net/quest/with-ajax-gallery/ (thumbs work as Ajax gallery).
This is possible with the theme in it’s original state, no plugins needed.
Thank you for your kind comments
Yes – that is exactly what we need! A Gallery page to another gallery page then to the individual portfolio items.
Fab n thanks for the quick response. I’ll get back to my client tomorrow, we had narrowed it to 2 designs, and I know which one I’ll be recommending!
Kat
Ok. Cheers
Congrats for the awesome theme. Just bought it and experimenting. A few questions: -How can i edit fonts sizes? -How can i make the backgroung of a section stay fixed?
Thanks in advance.
Javi
Hi,
Thank you for purchasing!
1 – If you change the body font using CSS all the other font sizes will be adjusted accordingly. If you want to change sizes only for certain elements you’ll have to target them properly using CSS. Both things can be done by adding CSS to under Quest Options>Custom Scripts>Custom CSS. Let me know if you need any help with this;
2 – It should be fixed by default… Send me a private message with a link if it’s not showing like that;
Cheers!
2- It’s fixed by default, but not when i use an image as background. Can an imaged be fixed and not scroll with the page?
Try adding this CSS code:.prk_section.prk_cover_back {background-attachment:fixed !important;}
Cheers
like a charm! beautiful! thanks again… site starts looking good!
Hi Pirenko!!!

Hi,
It seems to be fine on my side. Please send me a private message with your WP credentials so that I can check this out. Thanks!
Hi!! Thank you for your support!! Ezequiel
My headertext appears at the top of page and then the slideshow comes down after.. In the demo, the slideshow are in top..
Am I doing something wrong..?
I´m using the Page – classic layout
Thanks,
Sofia
Hi,
What page of the preview are you trying to mimic? Thank you for purchasing!
Look here: http://www.sofiamassage.se/ thank´s for a quick reply!! I wan´t all pictures to be in the top.. like homepage in your demosite.
You need to select the Page with Sections template and select the option to hide the tittle on the page custom options panel. Then you add whatever text/title inside the page content.
Cheers
Are there more icon options that go over the small paragraphs? I see where they are in the html. Are there other icons to choose from already in the template? Thank you.
I see you found it
Hi Pirenko,
First of all, you’ve made a great theme!
I have some questions, is there an easy way to put the sidebar to the left side of the pages? And is it possible to remove the zoom effect while hover an image in the portfolio page? I’ve search everywhere in the codes but can’t find the solution. Hope you can help me.
Thanks!
Hi,
Thank you for your kind comments!
Moving the sidebar requires that you place it before the page content and probably some CSS adjustments. Send me a private message with more details and I might be able to help you with this (depends on the number of pages you want to apply this).
For the zoom thing you need to open the main.js file located inside the js folder. Search for scale:1.2 and change it accordingly.
Cheers
Hi Pirenko!!!!
I’m very happy with these template, but i have some problems with a diferents plugins. 1.-When I put a “qtranslate” plugin the date of the post change for the date format, like “%A %d 04UTC %B 04UTC %Y”. 2.-When I intalled the “W3 Total Cache” the social icons close to the menu disappear, and I have the same problem with de social sharing icons. 3.- Now I deactivate all the plugins and i want put more social sharing icons, like facebook and linkedin. But now the template no take me the changes.
Thanks!!!! Ezequiel
Hi,
1 – I’ll make some tests, but send me a private message with a link to your website with this plugin on;
2 – I don’t see any valid reason, but maybe try changing some of the plugin settings;
3 – Send me a private message with your login details for me to investigate this, because I can’t replicate this on my side;
Cheers!
Hi, Thanks for the solution with the qtrasnlate problem. But i try to see the problem with the sharing buttons. I can’t put the sharing buttons that i want.
Thank you again!!!
I went into your Dashboard and under Quest Options>Blog tab>Social Sharing I activated all the network sharing buttons. They are all being displayed without any issues. Cheers!
Ohh, thank you!!!!! You are the best.
Hi Pirenko,
Here’s my second question. I love the ajax-grid-portfolio and want to use it for a picture gallery, that just does a light-box view of the pictures. like here: http://wiki.cionet.com/cio-city-2013-pictures/ (work in progress)
The way I do it now, I have to make a portfolio-post for every picture, assign them the right category and make light-box the preferred action. Is there an easier way to do this? If not, would you consider adding a ajax-portfolio-like picture gallery? Are there other solutions I could use?
Thanks!
Hendrik.
Hi,
If you like this page layout you need to create a portfolio entry for each thumbnail. But you don’t need to keep selecting the lightbox option… You only need to set the option “Thumbnails open lightbox” on the portfolio page (and you already did this).
Cheers!
Hi Pirenko,
Great theme – enjoying it. Have a couple of questions. Here’s the first one.
I was a bit disappointed that the sliders are not touch-responsive. Do you plan to add that or do you see another solution we could use for that?
Thanks, Hendrik.
Hi,
You can try and open the main.js file and activate the touch event for all flexslider inits and set “touch” to true. If you can’t do this send me a private message and I’ll send you a tweaked file.
Thanks!
brilliant – txs
why not make this default ?
Some people dislike it and on some older iPhone devices it brings trouble. Cheers!
Hi Pirenko,
I just updated the theme (as per your video tutorial) and I’m getting 404 errors on all pages but the home page. I replaced the old theme and everything worked fine again.
Is there something
Thanks, Darren
That’s weird… Turn off all plugins and try again. If this still does not work send me a private message with your WP login details please. Thanks!
I tried the plugins thing, with no luck.
I’m building the site on a localhost right now… Could that be the cause?
I went back to the old theme and copied file from the new theme to my root one at a time. All worked well until I copied the functions.php file.
Not sure if that helps, as I know nothing about coding, but hope it isolates the discrepancy.
I’ll just keep working on the old theme for now. Thanks!
Ok. I know the reason now… After doing the update go to the theme options and save them. This should fix that. Anyway I’ll release a quick fix in the next couple of hours. Thanks!
Hmmm, I’m still getting the 404 errors . . .
Please update the theme to the latest version. I released an update today that should have fixed that. Thanks!
Thanks Pirenko, that fixed it!
10/10 customer support! You’re awesome
Cheers!
Great
Is there a quick way to change the text size (specifically, the page title) in the header on specific pages?
Thanks, Darren
Yes… If you are familiarized with using modern browsers elements inspection tools you’ll see that all pages have specific id’s on wrapper divs. So you can add some Custom CSS to the theme options easily.
If you don’t know how to do this, please send me a private message with a link to a sample page.
Thank you for purchasing
Great, thanks! Any chance you could add an option on a future update to include a description field under portfolio entries with titles?
. . . and also a “portfolio with titles” shortcode so I can use that portfolio style on a classic layout template
I have an update ready to upload so, if I decide to do this, it will only be on version 2.3. Cheers!
It’s all good. The theme is awesome either way. Thanks for the great support,
Hi Pirenko,
I’ve made a page named portfolios, its template is “Portfolio – Masonry”.
I’ve created some portfolio items, and relevant skills.
All is working fine, except when I’ve more portfolio items than the “Number of posts to load on each load event” in the portfolio tab of the settings. In this case, when I scroll down, no more portfolios appear.
For example I’ve 15 portfolio items, I set the “number of posts…” to 8, and I only see 8 portfolios items.
Firebug tells me that the url http://www.mysite.com/portfolios/page/2/ returns 404
What can I do ?
Regards
Olivier
Hi,
Make sure that you have a correct permalink system on your WP install. Go to Settings>Permalinks for this. Try also turning off plugins you may have active. If you still have issues send me a private message with a link to your website please.
Thanks
Hi,
My permalink is set to “post name”.
I ran the site without plugins… with still the same problem. I’ve pm a link.
Thanks for your time,
Olivier
For the record: ‘portfolios’ is a special name for the theme, as ‘member’ and ‘slides’ and few others (for example a given portfolio item is accessed by portfolios/name). So you cannot create a page with that name if you activate the “Ajax load posts” option. I renamed my page “portfolio” (without trailing s) and it works. Thanks Pirenko for your private answer. Olivier
Yes. I’ll include an option to change this on the Wordpress Dashboard on version 2.2. Thanks!
Hi Pirenko,
I just bought the theme and am playing around on my local dev site. There are a couple things that I’m having trouble with.
I want to setup a home page with a boxed slider, title and header text (same as the boxed slider example on your live preview site).
Here’s the issue: When using the default template, the header and slider options disappear…
When I switch to the page with sections template, the header and slider options reappear, but when I uncheck the show featured slider option and add a slider using shortcode, it’s still showing up as a full-width slider instead of boxed when I preview it…
I’ve disabled all plugins. Hope it’s something simple I’m overlooking
Thanks, Darren
Hi,
Please take a look at this video explaining a small change on the pages type: http://www.screenr.com/fVI7
You should now use the template Page – Classic Layout.
Thank you for purchasing!
Thanks for the quick reply! Worked like a charm. Cheers
Sorry to bug again. I added a latest posts section to my home page. Some of my post have a few categories attributed to them. The issue I’m having is that the category links at the bottom of each of the boxes are not staying within the boundaries of the box.
Thanks again, Darren
Try compressing their names or reduce the number of categories. If you want to hide them send me a private message and I’ll help you with that. Cheers!
I just reduced the number of categories. It’s all good. Thanks!
Hi Pirenko, One quick question, regarding social media icons that display on the right side of the menu. Is there a way i could put a Google+ icon there?
You can try changing the functions.php and theme_functions.php files. Anyway I’ll add it on the next update. Cheers!
thanks!
Hello Pirenko,
Issue, site doesnt load on mobile but working fine on ipad just showing loader on iphone.
Please reply asap.
Thanks
Hi,
Is this on the the preview or on your own website? If it’s on your website what version of the theme are you using? Thanks!
Hi Pirenko,
I was wondering if theres a master section where i can paste Google analytics code? so i dont have to paste it on every page.
Hi,
Yes. Go to Quest Options>General tab>Google Analytics code (near the bottom of the page).
Cheers!
Thanks for the quick reply, i’ve watched the how to videos, they are a great help and answer lots of questions
Hey, what about the Ajax gallery? Where can I find it? I would like to do a gallery like here: http://www.munto.net/previews/?theme=quest
Hi,
Under each page content you’ll find some options. On the portfolio pages you can decide what happens when you click on a thumbnail and this is where you turn the Ajax feature on.
Cheers
Sorry Pirenko, but I tryed now for at least one hour to get something like the shown Ajax Gallery , but I cant figure it out. Do I have to upload the Thumbnails separately? I also want to get read of the Placeholder Slideshow, but I dont know where to change the Images, do you have any serious tutorial?
Hi,
Go to Pages and select your portfolio page for editing. What options can you see under the page content?
The placeholder slides are edited by clicking on the Slides button. The featured image is the one that will be used on slides. Besides the Documentation folder included in the theme you can find some videos here: http://www.munto.net/quest/video-tutorials/
Sorry, but I don’t understand what you mean…
So sorry; late night. When I scroll down, the header reduces in size.
The following appears . This padding-top parameter is custom. How do I edit this?
Open the main.js file located in the js folder. Search for 37 and replace with whatever value you want. Cheers!
