I’m going to try to explain this as best as I can.
I am trying to make a homepage which will be the full width slider. So that will be the first page everyone sees when they enter the site.
THEN, on the sidebar, I wanted to have my portfolio link, that when clicked, will show all my work as the fixed width portfolio page (so basically the little boxes with all the links to the pages). BUT, as soon as I make the homepage something other than the portfolio, it doesn’t allow me to have a secondary page with a portfolio. It just lists all the pages as articles with no pictures whatsoever.
Is there ANY WAY to have a homepage with a full width slider and then a separate portfolio page that can be clicked on the sidebar that will take visitors to ANOTHER portfolio listing page?

I am having problems with displaying the description text in my slider. It works ok on a ‘page’ but when i create the same slider in a ‘gallery’ the description/caption text is not visible?

In regards to captions navigate to Appearance > Theme Options > Style and add these lines of code to custom CSS block:

also…. when ‘related projects’ are turned on, the custom URL override does not work when you click on a project. It goes to the project instead of the custom URL.

Hi, add your categories to your menu from “Portfolio Categories” meta box. By default “Portfolio Categories” field for menus is hidden, so you need to first enable it in “Screen Settings” at the top of WordPress admin panel.

Gallery type : ‘slider’ – Is there a way of making images liquid past their original size so that the image resizes to what ever screen size the viewer is viewing the site on? Currently they are only liquid up to their original size. I don’t want to upload image that are too large otherwise they will be of a printable quality when indexed to google.
Also is there a way to disable images being dragged from the browser to the desktop when using the ‘Full Width of Window Slider’ template? When using the ‘slider’ template this cannot occur, which is good for protecting images from being misused.

I would like to make my menu font smaller and align center. I have managed to make the font smaller in this part of the CSS but i cant seem to find where to change the CSS to make the menu align ‘center’ Any chance you can send me in the right direction? thanks

I assume you don’t support plugins but i am using two fairly popular plugins- Post Types Order & Category Order and Taxonomy Terms Order
One of these affects fixed layout of the portfolio section and only allows 3 portfolios across the page. Do you know if there is any easy fix for this? Even after deleting the plugins it seems that it has permantly changed the layout from 5 to 3 across.

Sorry I dont think these plugins are affecting the layout.
Can you tell me why the layout changes inconsistently? Depending on the shape and size of the browser it changes from six across, to 3 across and then to four across? There is a lot of wasted space either side of the thumbnails when it is 3 across and it doesn’t make sense that the thumbnails are not filling the page fully?

In super smooth gallery, captions are loaded before images… so until the first image appears – which can take some time – all captions overlap and it just looks terrible -> http://www.mariecarette.com/perso/captions.jpgYou did a great job on this theme – really – but this problem is really frustrating… and it spoils the beauty of the theme ! Is there anything you could do ? Add a query so that captions are not loaded before all images are ? It would be marvellous !!

I Have updated the theme to the new version (only local for a test) and do it like u have writen me some days ago here “Hi, simply add your portfolio categories to your menu.” so i but the portfolio categories as submenu under my Portfolio Menu, but it is not working!
if i click after on the site the submenu what is one of my category, there comes nothing
U sure that is working, i mean setup any of my “Portfolio categorys” as an menu and there will be listed only that categroy of pictures? And also what about “Portfolio Filtering” is that never work after?
There is nothing in documentation about setup categories as menu for more as one portfolio (no filter, as menu in navigation)..

How do you update this theme? I downloaded the main file, etc, but when I upload it says , “already exists” directory…. It certainly does not.
Hi, first visit your downloads tab and re-download the new version.
To install a new version of the theme delete the old one, with a help of FTP for example, and extract skylab.zip file and upload the extracted folder to /wp-content/themes/ folder on your server.

do you think you could send the fixed code for the portfolio post headers font colour and link hover colours? as they’re they same colour as the background in the black.css style
You can find the fixed code in the downloaded package.
Navigate to Appearance > Theme Options > Style and choose background color (#111111) for your site.

Currently your navigation links have #cfcfcf color for me.
yes if they are unselected, the “Fashion” one will be invisibile as it’s selected, if you select “Fashion I” that one will go invisible, and also my site header “Kolton Robinson” isnt showing either
You will need to add styles from black.css which you will find in the package. As you can see in the demo colors are fine.

i did re-paste the black.css text into Custom CSS Block and that’s what i got, all i got was white, so i was told to set background and navigation bar to #111

I’ve hit a big problem with iosSlider, which is the main reason I bought the theme really. Landscape images respond reasonably well to browser resize ie they are responsive, but portrait images don not respond at all, they stay the same size
What’s going on? Obviously I would like the whole slider to be responsive not just the landscape images

Thanks. It turns out that it only happens if I have a portrait image first to set the height, rather than a landscape one, even though they are all exactly the same height!
this is still causing problems. Portrait images do not resize as you resize the browser window, the container resizes but it clips the portrait images. Landscape images resize as expected with container

Hello. I just purchased this theme and am loving it! I am having a few technical difficulties though.
1. The site isn’t showing up properly on my mobile devices. I’m using Chrome on my HTC One.
2. On the contact page, it shows a google map which I don’t want on there. When I go into the settings and remove the address it re-adds the default info. Any way to remove it all together?
3. Social media links aren’t working right. I added the correct address but it’s adding my domain name to the url string. It’s not written that way in the social media settings, how do I fix that?

Please navigate into your Dashboard -> Jetpack -> WordPress.com Stats and click the configure button. Check “Hide the stats smiley face image.”
The only remaining issue at this point is how the website is displaying on my phone. I don’t know if this is happening on other mobile devices, but on my own it isn’t functional. Any ideas?
There are two menu locations – primary and mobile. Primary menu is your main menu and mobile menu is for for mobile devices.
Menus can be configured under Appearance > Menus.
