Hi guys,
Some quick questions for yourselves!
Our clients is looking for the ‘all’ option in the my portfolio to be removed as shown here http://gyazo.com/79a0aec7698ac5e91f3dfeec8cfaea58 just wondering if there is some coding or anywhere in the theme options where we could remove this?
Second question is how to we enable the lightbox option to run the slideshow itself in the my portfolio page also. I’ll link the website, so you can have a look at it for us.

Hi
1. Edit the file wp-content/themes/storm/includes/shortcodes.php and find this line and remove it:
$output .= '<a class="basic-button" href="#" data-filter="all"><span>' . __('All', TCR_TEXT_DOMAIN) . '</span></a>';
2. There isn’t an automatic slideshow option available with the Fancybox plugin.

I can’t seem to get into that file at the moment, is there anyway I can do it through the wordpress dashboard with custom css? any help would be much appreciated.
Hi,
You could try using this CSS:
.portfolio-filter a[data-filter=all] {display: none;}

Just installed this theme on my site and it looks great! I am having an issue with the sidebar though – it seems to be showing up beneath the posts. You can see what I mean on http://jasonhines.net/death-valley-part-ii/. I tried resizing my images, but it didn’t help. Please advise.
On a side note, it works fine on pages. Just not at all on the blog page or the individual blog posts.
It looks like the Digg Digg plugin has a comment which is swallowing the closing div tag of the post content, see here.
Regards, TC
Thanks TC! That fixed it on the individual blog posts!
Hi:
Great theme!
We have an issue where the blog main & archive pages are supposed to have a black background but they keep on reverting to the default side show. Any ideas? The background is set to black.
http://www.fitfightertraining.com/blog/THANKS! Sharon
Hi,
The background color will only show under the slideshow images, it will not hide them. You are better creating a Slideshow Group and applying it to only pages that you want to show it, would that suit you?
Regards, TC
I tried that but it still seems to show the default. I’ll try again and let you know if I’m still having issues (maybe it’s cached somehow.)
If you want to disable the background slideshow on a page, create an empty background group, by going to Theme Options -> Backgrounds -> Images -> Background image groups -> Add group, give it a name e.g. “Empty”. Then edit the Blog page and set the “Background image group” option to “Empty”.

Hmmm slightly confused here, you say Quform is included, but do we still have to purchase a license?
Sorry if you’ve stated this a 1000 times.
No, you can use the Storm license key to activate Quform.

I have just finished setting up my new website, and I would like to thank ThemeCatcher for creating “Storm”, the most beautiful, professional-looking, easy-to-set-up WordPress theme I have ever used! I have been a ThemeForest member for almost 4 years, and have tried at least 5 designer themes on my photography website during this time. All of them were very nice, yet, for many reasons, not exactly what I was looking for. Sometimes they were aesthetically cool, but lacking flexibility and customizability. Other times they were very professional-looking, but too plain for visitors to enjoy. With ThemeCatcher’s “Storm” I believe I have found perfection: an extremely beautiful theme, with lots of cool features, well-coded, fully documented, and with the most amazing support I have ever experienced! Not that I have needed it much for using the theme’s main features, as with the custom control panel the set-up is incredibly easy, but I have thought of some nice ways to customize the theme to suit my needs, and the author was so kind to help me implement these features. This has been much appreciated, especially as I’m aware that ThemeForest authors are not obliged to provide support. Being experienced with html/css, I have also been able to change the theme’s files without much effort – the code is extremely well written and commented, so those who are not newbies will enjoy it, too. Once again, my deepest thanks to ThemeCatcher for having designed and coded the photography WP Theme I have always dreamed of!
Thank you Elena, and what a beautiful website
How do i enable the ”-” Hide button in the navigation menu?
The WordPress version doesn’t have this button, the button is in the footer instead, next to the background controls.

Hello, I’m Having problems with the featured image in portfolio function, as you can see in this webpage: http://www.arrosmolidepals.com/web/el-moli-de-pals/funcions-del-moli/
I have tested this function in an other host, nad it is working, but not in the one I’m requesting. it means that perhaps some functionalities in my hosting are blocking this function. Can you say to me wich one is? how to solve that?
One common solution is to make sure that the storm/includes/timthumb.php file has file permissions 644 and all parent folders of this file have permissions 755. See Changing file permissions.

...and I was also wondering if there is a chance to add a small icon (a different one for each) next to tab titles (shortcodes). E.g. I have 2 tabs, each with its own content; one is called “English” and the other “Italian”. I would love to place a small flag next to the language names, and put my bio in those tabs. Would that be possible? Thank you so very much!
[tabs] [tab title="<img src="http://example.com/images/flag1.png" /> One"]Content[/tab] [tab title="<img src="http://example.com/images/flag2.png" /> Two"]Content[/tab] [/tabs]

Hello TC,
first of all, congratulations on such an awesome theme. I have used 4 other themes for my photography website before, and it wasn’t an easy decision to redo the styling for the zillionth time… the quality of your work convinced me it was worth to
And it surely was!
While I look forward to showing you the results as soon that I’m finished (I’m always looking for tips/advices from great developers), I am now testing the theme and have a little question: is there a way to remove the featured image from the posts in the main blog page? I have already found in the control panel the options to remove it from the single post page as well as from the archives page, but I haven’t spotted an option for the main blog page (that is: the one that lists many posts). I am especially looking for a way to remove it forever, without having to make changes every time I update the theme. Is there some custom js or code I can add in the control panel? If not, I am willing to remove the code from the core template files of course, should you be so kind to let me know what to look for
Thank you so much!!! Elena
Try this method, it works for me. In the theme options panel, at Blog -> Images -> Blog Archive Images, turn Featured image to OFF.
Regards, TC
Thank you very much for your kind and quick reply. I have unfortunately already tried that, as I mentioned, with no success
Is there a way to force the featured image not to be displayed via code? I believe the Archives setting in my case is not working with the index page, I don’t know if it’s due to any previous WP settings… any help is much appreciated. If there is some code to remove from the files, please just let me know and I will do so – I will save the files for when there are any theme updates. Thank you so much!
Okay I figured that out, but now when I try to use mutliple Galleria’s on the same page it gives me an error like this:
Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Choose-To-4.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Studio-1.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Studio-2.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Choose-To-1.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Choose-To-2.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Choose-To-3.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Studio-3.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Studio-4.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Studio-5.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Studio-6.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Studio-7.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Studio-8.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Studio-9.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Studio-10.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Studio-12.jpg Could not scale image: http://precision.articianclients.com/wp-content/uploads/Studio-13.jpg
When I have only one, it works fine.
The problem can be fixed by updating the Galleria script to the latest version. Go to http://galleria.io/download/ and download version 1.2.9, extract the zip file and upload the file galleria-1.2.9.min.js to the wp-content/themes/storm/js/galleria folder. Edit the file storm/includes/theme.php search for the term 1.2.8 (two occurrences) and replace them with 1.2.9

Hi, here is the shortcode to my fancybox columns…
[portfolio columns=”5” max=”5” show_title=”1”]
Is it possible to limit it to only show from a SPECIFIC category, not have the tabs?
categories="5"Add this attribute to disable the tabs:
sortable="0"

Hello friend, the theme is great, except that I found a mistake. When entering a gallery on one page all is well. But when on the same page I put several galleries, an error appears: “Could not scale image: http://mysite.com/wp-content/uploads .........”
This message appears many times. Once for each thumbnail.
The error only appears when I refresh the page. If I normally navigate the web does not appear. Only appears to refresh, or if I delete the cache and try to go back to that page.
If you want, send you access to my wordpress so that you can see. Moreover, the theme is fine. I hope you can fix the error, thanks!
I would like to see the problem in action, could you send WordPress access to the contact form on my profile page.
Regards, TC
Were you able to see my email? I need to finish this website, is for a client.
See below another comment, from “devnut” with the same problem.
thank you
Thank you very much for the solution. Now everything works perfect. Thank you!
Hi there, a pre-purchase question. Is it possible to have mutliple galleries located from the main menu i.e. Fashion/Make-up/Styling etc?
Thanks in advance.
Silvio
Yes you can create multiple gallery pages and link them from the main menu.
Regards, TC
Amazing Theme! how can I change the distance between the menu Items?
If you go to Theme Options -> Advanced -> Custom CSS and enter this code, it will add more space between the main menu navigation items. Change the numbers to change the spacing:
ul.primary-menu li a {
padding-left: 30px;
padding-right: 40px;
}
Regards, TC
Fantastic!!!
Is there other colour variants, other than Black?
Hi,
Sorry not with this theme, it is all based on a dark background. You can change the orange color, if that helps. You could change the whole CSS, but it’s a good bit of work involved in doing so.
Regards, TC
Many thanks, the CSS could be an option… one more question, have you tried this theme with the WPML plugin?
Yes it’s compatible with WPML.
Regards, TC
Many thanks for your help
hi, this is the coolest theme I’ve ever seen…
Can’t wait to buy it
Just buy storm template but i can’t save “theme options”. When i try to upload a picture or change other things (Navigation width, Main color) it doesn’t work. I see a popin “options saved” but nothing… There is something to do with files permission ?
Dear TC author, I’d like to know if it’s possible to add some social links to the “Social Icons” widget which at the moment are missing. I’m interested in adding a Pinterest icon link, a 500px icon link and (less important but really appreciated) a PentaxPhotoGallery icon link. Since my site is photography related, some missing links are a critical factor to me. Moreover, in the near future I could need to add links to some printing service sites, such as Fotomoto or RedBubble or Blurb. Is it possible to add these links/icons too? Thank you in advance Best regards Claudio Beffa
I made a guide for adding a new social icon, repeat it for each item you want to add.
Regards, TC
Thank you! It perfectly worked. In the meanwhile, however, I encountered another little hiccup: If I Pin on Pinterest one of my blog posts, the picture taken is of the wrong size. I’ll try to better explain it: My blog post at the link http://www.phoclab.com/wp/blog/moni-arkadi-last-guardian/ has a feature image 622×612 pixel wide, recognised as “timthumb.php”. But if I pin the article on Pinterest, it sets a feature image 150×150 pixel wide, as you can see at the following link: http://pinterest.com/pin/364932376025776825/ So, I can’t understand why the big picture is ignored, in favour of the tiny thumb-sized one. It’s a critical issue on Pinterest, because it’s a 100% visual network and it’s not possible to manually change the link to reach the right image (it’s automatically chosen by the Pinterest’s system). Can you figure out why? Thank you again for your great support, best regards. Claudio.
<div class="socialize-in-button socialize-in-button-vertical"><a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.phoclab.com%2Fwp%2Fblog%2Fmoni-arkadi-last-guardian%2F&media=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.phoclab.com%2Fwp%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2012%2F12%2FDSCF2775-Monastero_Agia_Triada-150x150.jpg&description=The+last+guardian+of+Moni+Arkadi+%26%238211%3B+L%26%238217%3Bultimo+guardiano+di+Moni+Arkadi" class="pin-it-button" count-layout="vertical"><img border="0" src="//assets.pinterest.com/images/PinExt.png" title="Pin It" /></a></div>
So, it points to the following location, to choose the image for the pin inside the social network: http://www.phoclab.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/New-phoclab-150x150.jpg
How can I change this behavior to make it point to the bigger version of the same picture?
Maybe it’s better that I ask to the authors of the “Socialize” plugin, since this couldn’t be a matter of your jurisdiction, isn’t it?
Please let me know, thank you again. Claudio.
It is the Socialize plugin that is using the thumbnail URL, you can modify the plugin to use a larger version by editing the file socialize/frontend/socialize-services.php and replace line 424:
$large_image_url = wp_get_attachment_image_src(get_post_thumbnail_id($post->ID));
with this:
$large_image_url = wp_get_attachment_image_src(get_post_thumbnail_id($post->ID), 'large');
Regards, TC
Dear TC, you are undoubtedly the best and most professional author with whom I’ve ever had the pleasure to communicate. Fast, precise and 100% problem solved. Thank you so much. Claudio
