Hi, Just a quick pre-purchase question: Is it possible to get the documentation for your theme before purchasing it? I think this would be a great theme for one of our projects, I would just like to read to documentation first to be sure.

Hi! I´m new on wordpress so I´m having some trouble installing your theme as well. Or it all works but I wonder how to get the “masonary/popup” gallery option that was in the demo, I can´t seem to find it as an option anywhere? The closest I get is “fancybox gallery” but that one is with a black background, how can I change it to white (or get the mansonary popup from the demo)?

hi, I’m new to setting up themes and as much as I try I just can’t figgure out how to delete the map on the contact form!

I’ve read the documentation and there’s nothing in there other than how to set it up, I’ve tried deleting the info in the contact part of the theme options but it just resets to default.

Please could someone tell me how to get rid of the map??!

Hi again,

I figured out some of the issues from my previous post, but raised some new questions/concerns. I realize now that your theme has two new types of content: “Galleries” and “Portfolios” which are not just items to add to a page, but rather specific content items that are equivalent to a Page or Post, but behave very differently. The issue that is most confusing is that you also have page templates called “galleries” and “portfolios”, but they are NOT the same thing as “Galleries” and “Portfolios”! Very confusing! And then there’s posts with “categories” and “formats” which I understand can be used for filtering, but otherwise they further confuse things. I also realized that not all the “Portfolios” included in the demo have images attached to them, but they DO have a featured image, although nothing shows up on those pages/portfolios when clicked, so I just deleted them since I can’t learn anything from them. I realize that you did explain some of this in the documentation, but there is no overall explanation of the different items and menu types and how they work together as well as independently – that would be helpful, along with a video tutorial showing how the demo is set up! So, here are some new questions/concerns:

1 – I have tried to disable commenting on posts, but it doesn’t work. I disabled it from the Settings page for all posts, and on an individual post, but it won’t go away, so where is it in the code so I can delete all comments forever and not show “comments are closed” or whatever.

2 – I found the page/portfolio with the iosSlider, but when I use it the images are huge and I don’t get more than one on a page – I really want it to look like this: http://test.davehebb.com/portfolio/new-look-new-hart/ but instead it looks like this: http://test.davehebb.com/portfolio/forever-wild/ – Do I have to manually resize the images to all have the same height? Do they also have to be small enough to have more than one on a page? If so, that’s no good – I bought this theme specifically to have a responsive horizontal scrolling capability, but the IosSlider is not really working that way – the idea is to allow a viewer to see more than one image at a time, with the second or third image showing only partial, but with the ability to scroll through them horizontally, as in your demo page “New Look. New Hart.” – I realize that those images are portrait format, but still it should work for my landscape images, so how do I make it work?

3 – Posts are behaving very erratically – I’ve tried turning off the widgets, but then there is all this blank space on the right and a blank gap at the top and a “to the top” link – it looks very awkward: http://test.davehebb.com/beyonces-seamless-fluid-image-masonry/ As I previously requested, it would be helpful to know which css stylesheets to change to be able to effect the spacing, colors, etc., or if it’s built in to the PHP, some advice as to where those different items are located would be helpful – perhaps some kind of “tree” or sitemap for the way things work would be helpful – I know that’s a lot to ask, but it’s really hard to work with all these new options without some guidance – I know it’s a lot to ask, and this is a very flexible theme with a lot of options, but without a clearer overall picture it’s hard to figure out how to use it! It should be easy to tweak the code for various elements to change padding, spacing, fonts, remove elements, etc. But it’s not…

4 – I noticed when I added more than about 20 items on the menu, you can’t see them all in the sidebar and the bottom ones aren’t clickable. I have my home page set to a fullscreen portfolio (Gallery? Page? it’s so confusing!) so it’s not possible to scroll, but it also overlaps the navigation at the bottom. Yuck! I wish I could at least eliminate that navigation as I previously requested….

5 – I would like to change the order in which the social icons appear – I know that’s not an option, but if I new which theme file it was in, I could probably tweak it – any suggestions?

6 – back to the “new look. New Hart” demo page – any way to add some margin at the top so it’s not right at the top of the screen?

I think you have a great looking powerful theme, and I think I can make it work, but I wish the documentation was more comprehensive and there were more user-friendly theme options that would allow simple css type changes to be made without hacking the code. Please keep working on this theme – it deserves more energy – I think it could become a new standard for media rich sites! Thanks for all your time, and please respond to my previous post as well.

How do i add a blog page template? Also there are few page templates missing from download file.

Hi, Lots of good things here, but some things don’t work as expected – Here’s a few off the top of my head:

1 – How do I create a page using the template with the Single Project Ios Slider as seen here: http://themeforest.net/item/skylab-portfolio-photography-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/4740718

2 – Styles don’t work on the demo page, and I tried to load them on my site, but they don’t seem to work – I opened up the css style sheet for each style in text editor and then pasted it in the CSS box for Theme Options > Styles as it says in the Documentation, but nothing changes. I don’t care about the background images, but I want to change colors for social icons and fonts and set all the background colors.

3 – There are so many additional custom fields available, but there doesn’t seem to be a full documentation of what values to use and what they do.

4 – I added the demo xml file, but many of the pages just link to the demo page on themeforest, so I have no way of figuring out how things work (see 1 above).

5 – there are several minor changes that I want to make to specific elements, like individual colors and elements, such as the advance arrows with page numbers on the full page slider (i’d like to eliminate that) but I’m not that familiar with PHP – are there separate style sheets for each template that I can more easily hack to hide elements? I’m using a child theme, but I’m not sure if that will work to eliminate an element, or if it’s even possible with css, or if I need to mess with the PHP code…

Thanks in advance for any insight – I’m sure I will have more questions as I dig deeper…. I think this is a powerful theme with a lot of possibilities, but it’s a bit confusing since it works differently than most of the themes I have used before.

Okay I figured out how to get it. Must have deleted something I shouldn’t of) But new question, How do you set the post page to Journal? It doesn’t show up in the drop down menu.

I may be missing something, but is there a way to make the Gallery the Static front page?

Hi, I have a questions regarding galleries. I have multiple categories throughout my website and I need the following:

1. Can you please tell me how I can have a Galleries List Page showing with only certain Categories to show and choose from.

ie: A website that has 10 categories and a Galleries List page which has only the following showing: Category 1 Category 2 Category 4 Category 6 Category 8

Man… I’m sorry if I’m being annoying but… Whenever I save changes in Theme Options, my contact page shows that Melbourne map that’s bundled as a placeholder. I don’t want any map… I’m always erasing this contact info and after a while, whenever I save changes in Theme Options, boom, there’s a Melbourne map again… So any fix?

Also, is there a way to make a single gallery image a link?
