This is awesome theme ever i go through!! Got many things !! But how to user short code in page post or widget ? for Content Toggle I mean i have copied the short code from http://www.universallyacclaimed.com/wp-themes/u-design/features/shortcodes/content-toggle-and-tabs/ and have put it in widget but its not working if i clicked on toggle button the flow goes at at the top of the home page.. even the content is also not displaying..

why last 2.0.1 u-design comes with revslider 3.0.5 witch is not wp 3.6 compatible?!

The Revolution slider plugin has updates quite often and because of the licensing and how the plugin is shipped with the theme I cannot simply offer its latest version without having to update my theme, which of course is out of the question to do updates that often. There are thousands of users using my theme and let’s just say many will be “slightly” inconvenienced by very frequent updates. We evaluate the importance of those updates and then synchronize with the timing of the theme’s updates, usually once every couple of months. In this particular case I haven’t seen any specific WP3.6 issues being reported in the forums related to Revolution slider version shipped with the latest theme update, and the slider seems to work fine when tested.

About the web responsive, it means that the web just adjust the width to the smartphone or means that an special version is activated for smartphones and/or tablets? Your responsive version permit to select the activation on/off for tablets also? Could you send me any example of site in order to check the smartphone version?

Hi Internq7, I am looking to buy a Wordpress theme for my website and like your U-Design theme, but I have a special requirement which I wonder whether your theme can address.
Basically the issue is that I need to be able to have a different logo and menu for different groups of pages. I will eventually end up with about 50 to 100 such groups, so it would be difficult to change in the CSS file (and I am not good at CSS anyway). Is there any way to do so easily?
I also like certain aspects of the Modernize theme (another Rainforest), specifically the thickness (thinner) of the frames around images, and the shadows around image frames. Would it be easy to set this in U-Design without going into CSS?
Also, can I changed to a boxed layout just by clicking on some settings?

thanks for your interest.
The modifications you mentioned will require some more serious customizations and you mentioned you’re not savvy with CSS which could be a problem. The theme doesn’t offer those out of the box so yes, definitely you will have to hire someone to code something like this for you.
Same goes for the image frames, they cannot be changed with an option, something like this needs customizing the theme.
The boxed layout is achieved through assigning a background images, I have that described in the theme’s support forum.

Thanks for your reply, internq7. Perhaps I would need to do a workaround then, for the first issue. Can I push the slider slightly further down from the top menu bar, and insert a new text area in between, where I can put the different logos for the different pages, instead?
For the image frames, can I amend it in the style.css file? If so, would you be able to point out which part to amend? Thanks.
yes, with a bit of custom CSS you could achieve those things. We could try to guide you in the process if you need some help.

Hi, Im a newbie and Im planning on buying your theme. But I keep hearing online that its ALWAYS a good idea to create a child theme from the parent theme in case the theme gets updated.
Do you recommend creating a child theme for the U-Design theme?

I already offer a “child” theme for “U-Design” so should you need one you could use it. A “child” theme is a great idea if you’re going to modify or customize the theme yourself, if you just stick to the theme’s default features, then you don’t need one.

If all I’m going to do to your theme is change the background colors, link colors, etc… Do I use the child theme instead? Does this counts as modifying the CSS? Or are you referring to modify or customize the features such as modifying the PHP?

For changing background colors or images, you can do that from the theme’s options, so you won’t have to use any custom CSS for that. You would use a “child” theme for anything that you cannot do through the theme’s options. For most people using the theme’s options is sufficient to set their websites and don’t need to use any custom CSS.

I am interested in purchasing the U-Design theme to migrate from PureVision to U-Design to have responsive functionality.
Questions: For viewing U-Design homepage with responsive feature on iPhone: 1. Will the TOP AREA HEADER LOGO be viewable on iPhones? 2. How does the U-Design responsive functionality access a map for the “navigation” button/drop-down viewed on iPhone? (Do I need to have a site map created for this, or will it translate the regular menu or a custom site menu for this navigation button/drop-down menu to be viewed on iPhone)? But I am facing some issues regarding designing compatibility of browsers.. the whole designing got changed in Internet Explorer 6,Internet Explorer 7,Internet Explorer 9 & default Internet explorer. IE6 is totally out of the question, I don’t think very many themes support it, even Google dropped support for it. IE8, 9 and 10 are the primary focus as IE7 is on it’s way out as well. If you test my theme’s demo site you’ll see that it works very well and consistent across those browser, keep in mind that when you setup your own site you will use your own content and HTML and CSS code which may not necessarily be compatible with all those browser, it’s your responsibility to make sure you use code that is compatible across all browser, that’s got nothing to do with the theme itself, it has no control over what code or content you put in.
