How do you make a blog as front page that has excerpts from blog and not full posts.

You can set the front page as latest posts in the reading settings. Or simply make a new page and insert the blog shortcode

Hi. During a website update for a client of mine, I discovered that she bought this theme through their previous website developer (who she’s trying to move away from). Because her developer is a family contact, she doesn’t want him to really be aware that she’s had to move to another designer (due to the amount of time updates done by him would take). She needs these edits done by Monday (tomorrow) night to be ready for a Tuesday promo. She also is not aware that her website was even done based on a theme. I say all this to say that I don’t have a license certificate easily available. :)

I’ve downloaded the WePay WP plugin and am trying to integrate WePay buttons into Avada. However, the button code doesn’t show as an actual button (only a link)—even when I use css=”buttoncss”. For this reason, I’m thinking there may be a conflict between the WePay button code CSS and Avada button CSS.

What do I do? Perhaps there’s a way to get the license certificate/code from somewhere in the templates themselves so that we don’t have to contact the original designer to get this simple issue taken care of quickly?

We’ve not used that plugin before so its hard to say, it could be a conflict, or it could be an issue with WP 3.6 and that plugin. I would first suggest contacting the plugin developer.

As for the license, you would need to get that from the buyers account. Its the only way to do it. Can you get their license certificate? Once you do, you can create a new forum account and then post up on our forum, we can take a look at your issue and help troubleshoot.

The sliders turn my gaming laptop into a Pentium II computer. Why are they so heavy on the system. its nearly impossible to setup smooth sliders, especially 100% width sliders. its like visual dubstep.

The sliders are 3rd party plugins that we include with the theme, they are not our code. But they should not be doing that to your system. See our demo pages, for example, our home page, http://theme-fusion.com/avada/

That does not slow our system down at all. Does it for you?

Its most likely your slider content, but we would need to see if to understand more.

If the issue persists, please post this up on our support forum. Create a new topic with the above info, then post a second reply with your username/password and mark it as a “private” reply so only we will see those credentials and will be able to login and check the issue.

You can get all our demo pages from our XML file or by copying individual pages from our docs. Please read our docs on how to do that. All wordpress themes (not only Avada) come with no content, unless you already have it in your database. You need to import the XML file, or copy individual pages. See section E and F of our docs.

after menially update revolution slider, there is no longer costume text style css available and All the text I have written before now is  just plain text. How do I get costume text back?

Also I have this note on my dashborad, what is this mean?

There is no need to move here, it can only slow us down since we are the same people to answer here as there, and answering the same issues twice makes it slower for everryone. Support response time can take up to 24 hours Mon-Fri, and currently its the weekend.

Also, I just went and checked your forum account “olegmar” and there are no open threads for it. Are you using a different username?

Dismiss the rev slider notice, plugin updates have to come from our theme updates.

For your styles, you always need to save them before updating. When the plugin is updated, the style file is replaced. Save off your styles as a backup if you make custom styles. That is out of our control and the revolution slider developers need to build in that feature at some point.

Are you only installing the Avada.zip file?

Does it say “Are You Sure you Want To Do This?” If so, that is a file upload limit your host has on your server, you need to install it via FTP See our docs on install http://theme-fusion.com/avada-documentation/#ftp

We can also instal it for you on our forum, signup and post a new topic asking us to do that.

If that is not the error, please let us know what it says.

Greetings. I’m wondering if the social icons in the footer can be swapped out for something a bit more colorful?

Also, can different pages have proprietary menus in the sidebar, meaning different menus on each page, if desired?

You would need to replace the social icons with ones you would like to use then adjust CSS as well to make them fit. Unless you use the exact same icons and just make them color, that is easier.

We are planning on adding another set of icons in the future as well.

Yes you can do that. All of our home pages are simply sample pages that we put together with our shortcodes and features. Users can make any type of page they want, and combine them or use our sample pages.

So yes, you can make a page and put as much copy content as you’d like.

Yes you can, you can use it with MU setup.

But one $45 license is for one site, os if you need it for other sites, even on the same MU installation, then you need to but one $45 license for each site.

There is an extended license that is for $2500 but its not active at the moment. Let us know if that is something you would like.

We only make this one theme, but tehre are others here on TF that have double sidebars, but Im not sure of exactly which ones. Look for themes with 3 columns, those will have dual sidebars

I recently purchased the theme and i love the fact that is ti so customizable vis Custom CSS, however I am having serious theme issues. I posted these issues on the internal theme support forum and no one is responding to me:

1. “Recent News” shortcode does not show up at all (it is implemented on this page) http://sociallysuperlative.org/nightlife/

2. “blog” shortcode does not follow any of these entries “ number_posts=”” cat_slug=”” title=”” thumbnail=”” excerpt=”” excerpt_words=”” meta_all=”” meta_author=”” meta_categories=”” meta_comments=”” meta_date=”” meta_link=”” paging=”” scrolling=”” strip_html=”” layout=”””

And when I add entries into the shortcode the right sidebar drops, the image layout becomes distorted, and the blog post displays full image sizes and text that is sprawled all over the page.

3. Banner code was working just fine,and then suddenly started displaying my WordPress login bar that is usually seen at the top of my page on single blog post page when i use the page break “next page” tag.

4. Thumbnail Images cut off heads and come up different sizes (instead of one standard thumbnail size) regardless of where I try to use any shortcode that allows me to show thumbnails.

Can anyone offer any suggestions? These are true theme functionality Issues.

How long ago did you post? Please read our notifications on the forum and our guidelines, response time can take up to 24 hours Mon-Fri and can be longer on the weekend.

Please do not bump your thread or it sends it back to the beginnig of the que and will take 2x as long each time you do that.

I can answer some stuff here but please wait for our main reply on the forum. We are the same people to answer here as the for so it only slows us down to post twice for same issues.

First these are not theme functjonality isssues.

Second please make sure you are using Avada 3.1.1.

1. It works, something must be wrong or you do my have a featured image installed.

2. Please see our shortcode docs, the shortcode changed and was heavily improved in our update. http://theme-fusion.com/avada-shortcodes/

3. This has to be one of your 3rd party plugins. Or a bad install. Please disable plugins to see

4. Yes those are auto cropped thumbnails, that is expected and normal.

Please follow up on the forum and make sure to not bump your thread and give us 24 hours to reply during week days.

Oh that is the new blog shortcode you pasted above. My apologies Iissed that on my phone.

If that is by working then you either don’t have a featured image, or you have a plugin issue or a bad install.

All of our users use those shortcodes daily and nobody else has reported they don’t work. So it has to be one of the above. Check all ten follow up on forum.

Hello, It’s another day and I have installed the Avada theme. I am working through the documentation which is actually proving to be quite straightforward. Good!

I want to give some creative comments here which would clear up any ambiguity arising from the package wording…please read this with a ‘newbie’ head on. The downloaded Avada package has an obvious PDF which says read me first. The information is for updates and the only link in the PDF takes you to the (forum?)and requires you to do all the signup things. This in itself is a distraction from the install. After signup it wasn’t obvious where to go next so I went back to the package for another look.

I looked at the other folders and scanned the contents of each. I was looking for anything that said ‘Installation, Install, Get Started, etc. Today I found inside the documentation folder a plain text file that pointed me to the information I required (why the archaic plain text, why not make it obvious?) – double click on the index.html file it said. Why is this not blatantly obvious and highlighted in the PDF, why do you have to delve into the folders, why call it ‘index’? In the UK the word documentation suggests files not necessarily for immediate use…a better word, ‘instructions’, suggests immediately to anyone, that is where you look first – combine that with word, Install, and boom! No cranky customers! All the pertinent first contact info should be wrapped up in a PDF with links not worded in web jargon, you get enough of that later on. I want to state here that your instructions, when you find them, are actually very good! Yesterday, you suffered the wrath of someone who did all the obvious and was left exasperated by vague instructions. Please make it immediately clear on your opening statement in the PDF that some hosting companies limit uploads. And please make the link to the instructions a priority file not called, index! Please update your install video… Apologies for my tone yesterday! All the best

This is also why we have the “read me first” file in each area. For example, in the documentation file and it tells you what to open. But really the main thing is our documentation file, it has everything you need and it’s online at our support site.

Take a look at the comments here, you will see several posts from us with large bold text stating how to get support, our online docs and other important info.

We can’t include a install off with the theme zip because t makes the file too big and will cause even more users to have the file limit size. We put our support forum info everywhere we can and include those read me first files as well pointing to everything. Maybe we can create a very simple install file but we feel our video tutorials cover that. Install and support is the first part of our docs.

But as I said I will revisit this and see what we can do to help users who have never installed a theme or many themes before.
