Raad, This is what I can interpret in regards to the google maps API, correct me if I am wrong.
My interpretation is that as long as the map is accessible to EVERYONE, you’re good. Meaning, you can charge people to put pins/markers on the map and still use the free version as long as EVERYONE can see the map.Now, if you must log into a closed door system to simply VIEW the Google Map, that’s when you have to pay a licensing free. Because in that case, it’s more like you’re integrating Google Maps into your own closed door system.

Hi Nick, we found a trick, we’re implenting it and everything should be ok, not only for the demo version on themeforest but also for buyers.
regarding the FREE maps system yes of course you can use it but it’s limited to 2500 visitors per day (the demo version of Glocal’s map on themeforest got blocked in 1 hour, it’s amazing to know what we had 2500 queries in an hour)
if you’re intending to get a lot of visitors then you should probably consider opting for Google Maps for business,
but wait for our trick we’ll implement it and publish Glocal with it, if it lasts more than 2 days then i’ll send you copy of it.

Use underscores instead of camelCase to name your functions.
Prefix all your functions and variables. A good rule of thumb is to prefix everything with your theme initials and your own initials.
Other than the issue(s) listed above, the item should be ready to go as long as no other issues come up.

You have developers that cant deliver when they say, are ‘unfamiliar’ with wordpress (raad’s own words) and once again here we are Friday’s past and yet again we have no confirmation that the theme has even been submitted as promised – yet again. If this is what it’s like to even get the first initial release god knows what the delays and promises are going to be like when the bugs, updates and requests for additions start coming through.
If your stupid enough to wait on these developers, inexperienced in wordpress again in their own words and obviously experiencing massive difficulties in delivering what they say, for a theme as complicated and involved as a modern directory theme then, in your words your the child.

I apologize on behalf of capturefour, he shouldn’t have called you idiot, but you’re becoming unbearable especially that I have apologized several times for the delay.
The team started to work on Glocal during the first week of August (due to soft rejections with Flexicv which caused a delay) In 1 month time, they were able to deliver this www.uouapps.com/wp/glocal (go and ask any experienced WP Developer if he/she can deliver this)
I asked them to remove paypal integration because it wasn’t robust enough yesterday and requires more testing (But we have a base programming code to quickly implement Paypal registration)
I’m going to submit Gocal in a couple of hours, so stop acting as a child and wait like everyone else, I’ll drop a general message as soon as the theme is uploaded, any other comments that are not related to technicalities will be ignored. is that clear ?

Just checked in to see the progress and saw the negatives above. They’ll be sorry they didn’t have the patience to wait it out for a superior product.
I’ve also taken a serious look at the other options…and your template sounds much more forward thinking than any other directory theme out there - things I’ve had in my head for my project, but don’t have the expertise to build myself. I can tell that your main concern is the end user experience - ultimately bringing the most benefit to us, your theme purchasers.
I expect some bugs here and there, but because of the way you’ve approached the release of your theme, I can tell you’re also after as close to perfection as you can get, and we needn’t worry that you’ll abandon ship on us. I’m absolutely sure it’ll be worth the wait.
I’m excited about this product!

Great news on the submission of the theme. 
Just thought I’d add my support, you can please some of the people some of the time but you can’t please all of the people all of the time. I’m a systems analyst so I understand what you are going through, having outsourced a lot of projects in the past and trying to stay on target in respect to coding up is a constant adjustment of time frames. I have looked at all of the directory themes on offer and yours is going to outshine them all.
Thank you so much for your encouraging & motivating message, I really appreciate it. as soon as Glocal V1 is published I am going to create a sort of structured community for buyers and prospects which will be categorized into VAS, new ideas and Web Development extensions of this project. Glocal will gradually convert into something between a directory and a corporate social network = web 2.0 directory. it’s hard to please everyone but i definitely want everyone to have a smile and generate revenues thanks to Glocal, we want to become a Value Supplier

Like idcreativestudio I’m afraid to say you lost me too. Have waited long enough now and the other theme is steaming ahead with updates at a rate of knots you seem unable to keep up with.
I do wish you all the best with your theme though, I’m just bitterly disappointed you didn’t manage to keep to your own deadlines and, as I stated previously, it concerns me for future updates/support.
I will however give you credit where it’s due – you have always answered questions/emails and I do truly believe your integrity in this respect; just the overall ability of your developers has given me the jitters.
If you don’t get it sorted soon I’m afraid for your sales.

I’ve been a buyer on themeforest during the past 4 years so I understand your frustration.
When you become an author for the first time on themeforest believe me that beginnings are not easy. The beginning is over and things are moving in the right direction.
Developpers underestimated the workflow and this impacted the deadlines together with the other obstacles we had with other themes. But of course I assume full responsbility even though I was relying on developers’ feedback (I reported to you what was report to me) and I really apologize for the delay, I’m as frustrated as you guys.
Fact is, do you guys want to spoil it when we’re 1 day away from submission ? the important thing is to get this v1 online then features & options will start blooming on a regular basis (regular means daily not monthly)
I of course do not force you to take any choice but I just want to make it clear that Glocal will be different from the other directories. content-oriented with a proper UI/UX balance.

Sorry got fed up with the continual delays and missed deadlines just to get the initial version published and have purchased another new directory theme on ThemeForest. Must say not disappointed with new purchase, fantastic theme and developer has already not only managed to publish initial version as promised but has already released 4 updates containing brilliant new features all within 2/3 weeks with more user requested features continually being added and all as promised and within time scale of couple of days.
Your theme looked really nice but continual missed promises even with release of first version have made me very skeptical as to how your developers will perform with additions and updates. Sorry again but you have lost this sale.

I understand your frustration and I do agree that the author is doing an amazing work with very rich content. i really respect him.
We had a bad start because of the rejections we got from Flexicv which impacted the workflow and resources but right now we’re on track and in 2 days Glocal V1 will be submitted, then that’s where the interesting features & options will start coming in.
Glocal is business oriented theme and will include options & innovative features that are content oriented (content-oriented = more flexibility in terms of Value Added Services = more revenues)
We’re moving in a corporate social network direction, so it all depends on your vision and what you want to do out of this directory. so you want to have it as a business-oriented theme then you should think about it (you can always switch)
In any case I appreciate that you’re sharing your concerns, doubts and thoughts, I really apologize for the delays and wish you a great experience with the directory.

I dont need anyone to pay me to write what I believe and to give credit where it is genuinely due and deserved! If you look back more than 3 weeks I had posted a comment here that I thought your design in HTML was beautiful and was really hoping the wordpress version would be as stunning when released which you yourself stated would be within days!!! More than 3 weeks later and still no sign of it, just excuses – developer got flu, not familiar with wordpress etc. If you knew you had timing issues with this because of your rejections by themeforest of your Flexicv and shortcomings of your developers then you should have been upfront about it and honest as to when the wordpress theme could realistically be expected.
My main concern is what is the situation regarding updates/additions of this theme going to be as no theme will be perfect on first issue and if your developers are having such time issues and problems of even getting this theme to initial launch what is going to happen for updates and customer requests. As previously stated the ‘other’ developer is able to meet these within days not weeks.
Even so, I wish you good luck with your theme and sales when you eventually manage to get it launched (and accepted by themeforest!)

To be honnest I never invented any excuse, I just reported what developers informed me, if I knew that it would take that long I would have informed you guys. Do you think I enjoy sending messages on a daily basis ? i’m also pissed off with the delay.
the guys are working 15 hours per day to get this working, our architecture is different than the other directories because we need to keep ours more flexible in concordance with the features that will be there. the other one is fancy and cool but not flexible enough to generate VAS. there are functionalities that take time to implement which still do not exist in the other, e.g. bulk upload, street view, slider etc…
I apologize for the delay and I share your frustration, Send me a PM and I’ll show you the sensational projects we’ve done during these last 2 years (JAVA and Native PHP), the guys faced some difficulties here with themeforest reqs and with WP and things are moving smoothly right now so everything is getting better.

How sure are you of September 9th? With v2.0 being an additional 2 weeks minimum after the initial release, it could force me to have to look at other options. I applaud your efforts to release a sound version initially, but unfortunately I’m not sure how many more delays I will be able to wait before looking at different options.
There have already been a few delays on this version, so I hope you understand my skepticism regarding the Sept. 9th date. I really am rooting for you to make that deadline.
Hi, thanks for your concern, as mentionned earlier v1 is expected to be submitted this Friday (06/09), tomorrow & after we’ll finish the map search & registration and on Thursday we polish everything and verify responsiveness. Friday we submit v1 inchallah.
Regarding V2 it’s more or less 2 weeks of development to COMPLETE IT (this means that every time a feasure is ready we update the theme)
As far as I remember your main issue was the bulk upload, this is 80 hours of work and is the a top priority to have it published after v1
I really can’t do more or faster, I’m checking & motivating the team on a daily basis, sometimes hourly basis so if you’re really can’t wait please feel free to look at alternative options, it’s totally understandable.
