You have the choice to display whatever categories you want for a portfolio on any page you assign the portfolio layout, but it works best if you just have one portfolio page with a sortable or multiple separate pages that display one category per. When you have multiple pages that both have lots of sortable categories the prev & next buttons on the single project page can be less accurate. This will however be mended when the ability to have an ajax portfolio gets added

Thanks for the prompt response. That makes a lot of sense, the reason i was asking is I want to use the portfolio layout for two parts of our site: 1) Events – information/details on the event, tickets, etc. 2) Competitors – individuals who are competing in the events, bios, etc.

so essentially two instances of the portfolio, each with sorting, but entirely separate from each other. Is this achievable? or would i need to manage it with one portfolio and separate displays for the two section. (i.e. make one category “events” – single page display, then a overall portfolio page for the competitors and remove the “events” from the sort dropdown) any thoughts or help is greatly appreciated!

You’ll be able to do that no problem as far as setting up two pages to display two separate sortable lists of items. It’s just on the single project pages the navigation (prev & next) might lead wrong. If you take the steps to separate your categories into single pages, it will work better though

Hey bardinidavide! Add this to your custom css box:

article.post .post-meta .date {
   display: none!important;
}

that will remove the main date display on the blog page, but for the single page you’ll have to open the single.php file and remove this:

   <?php the_time('F d, Y'); ?>

Oh thank you very much. I’ve removed successfully the date in the single blog pages but I couldn’t do the same in the general page, in the css box. Where should I put it in? At the end of the page it doesn’t work. Thank you so much for your support!

The custom css box is located in the theme options panel in the General Settings tab towards the bottom. If that isn’t working, please share your URL so I can take a peek.

One more question, where can I enable the “Sorting of Portfolio Items”, you know by categories. On your example you have it, for me even though I have several items in different categories, the “Sorting” doesn’t appear.

Hey nio975! I’m slightly confused as to what you’re asking. The theme includes a dummy data file for a quick setup of the live demo if you want to use it and installing WooCommerce after activating salient only takes a few clicks. The dummy data for that is also included and is located right inside of their plugin folder

That plugin must be pulling the count straight from the default share button it provides on hover because as of a few weeks ago through my research I found there is no way to call that data in a request similar to the other social networking sites. For whatever reason, Google did not want that available.

I always post banners highlighting the changes I make on the main item page so If it gets added down the road you can easily find out that way

Since I haven’t tested any of those it’s hard to say honestly. I can’t imagine there being serious errors, but I would expect some styling to be required to match the theme etc.

Hey luci30, there is no class to add to get icons in the menu by default. You would have to do a little custom development to add the nectar icons into the menu items.

It’s possible now but only with a little custom javascript ( well, that’s the quickest and easiest way ) Since you can give each slide a unqiue class, you could technically give a class for example “external_links” and then use javascript to find each slide with that class and add the attribute for target=”_blank”. If you would like help with this just open a ticket and I’ll show you further

Hey Tehranshahr, I don’t know how you have so many p tags wrapping all the elements in the carousel. Do you have some sort of plugin that could be messing with the default editor functionality or have you done any mods? Please open a support ticket on the forum and I’ll investigate it more for you
