Yes, but you’d need to just create a static page that contains the nectar slider shortcode and then use the WooCommerce shortcode to display your products underneath the slider.

What’s the best way to keep text vertically aligned inside full width sections?
ex. I have two one_half columns inside a full width section, one with image and one with header and text. The image is vertically aligned due to even top/bottom padding, but the text obviously floats to top. I’d like it to be vertically aligned.

Hey tywilliams4, from the sound of it you would need to wrap the text inside of your second column in another div that has a custom css class to handle the vertical alignment.

When using the nectar slider the images seem to be getting cropped, i’ve tried all different sizes including different widths as well as using the same size as the image used for ‘neat desk’ but still there getting croppped.
Why is this? Could you provide a guideline list for image sizes suitable for sliders.

Hey tazdrew, since you’re setting the height on each slider the dimensions will be dictated by that. Use the same height for your images are you set the slider to and then just make sure the width is big enough (around 1800px or more).

It appears the lightbox not opening is the result of a glitch when using the loop option. For now if you deactivate that, the link will work as expected

Hi, Just purchased your theme and really like it.
Really impressive layout and features. Just one complaint…. I’m a bit perplexed about the codecs used for your sliders and pages.
I would like my video to be on a slider and full screen.
I have never heard of ovg until your theme. Not one converter I have converts to it. I went online and found 1, but I’m a bit ticked about having to purchase another converter just so the 50 dollar theme I buy works correctly.
Also, the commonly used codec today is mp4, which is listed in html5.They do mention ogg in a free html5 video conversion softwarwe…is that the same thing?
I looked through your instructions, and it says we have to use both in order for it to work?Is it possible to change this to just mp4 in your next update of the template or is this something I can customize?Just the same, I’m using the youtube/vimeo, but I’d like it to just be the entire width and not embedded on top of the background image…any suggestions? Or is it possible to edit this in the js?
Also, I would like to change the content body from white and plain text to another color. Is this possible in the admin, or is it only adjusted from the css?

1. I offer ogg/ogv as an option because that’s one of the 3 standard formats in HTML5 video – http://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_video.asp scroll to the “Video Formats and Browser Support” section. Also the video shortcode within Salient is simply giving you a shortcut for placing the built-in WordPress video player, it’s not my own player. http://codex.wordpress.org/Video_Shortcode
2. In regards to the Nectar Slider – I also only suggest using an ogg/ogv if you have a specific need to as a webm & mp4 combo is all you need to make your video cross browser compatible. See my tutorial and skip to 5 minutes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLU9Pxo_RD8
3. You can’t make an embed become fullwidth without doing some js edits, correct. There’s just nothing in place for that now.
4. It would be adjusted from the css as there’s no option to globally change the main content BG color.

I am still having an issue with the movie. I really want to use video background elements. I have both with and without sound.
Is it possible just to list the full path to the movie? I'm having an issue with upload. I am unable to do a php.ini file for this server and it limits to 2M upload. Please advise.Also, I read the video formats and browser support. Your instructions dictate you have to have all formats when adding the video, but you are indicating by your response that it’s only a suggestion?.
I still have no solution for converting these codecs to ogg/ogv without having to purchase additional software. I did download easyHTML5 converter, but it's useless too. You have to make another purchase to not have their stupid watermark. Seems like this shouldn't be so difficult.Is there a solution that you know about that would help with that? iMovie only does m4v, mp4, .mov, 3gp.Thanks

1. I’m not sure what version you’re on but recent releases allow you to input a URL for the video.
2. My instructions say in multiple places that webm & mp4 are required but ogg is optional. You don’t need to buy any software, free online conversion sites exist. This is the one I used for the demo: http://video.online-convert.com/convert-to-webm

PS. I upgraded to the latest version, but on the footer the “V” icon is not aligned with the other icons. Seems like a CSS error? Was there something that changed?
Have you cleared your browsers cache since updating? It should be vertically aligned perfectly still.

Id like to ask a question about the portfolio. I set up a custom slug originally, and in the portfolio section i can see my posts but when i click view post it gives a 404 error. I tried deleting the slug and same thing. Even uploaded your sample data and yours are failing also. Please let me know thanks. Great theme btw

I need your help, please. Firstly about two days ago the site I am currently building has been coming up with a ‘Server not found’ message when I try to view it. the Fav icon is still there, and when I login to the cpanel the database and files are still there. I have been told that I need to change back to the twentytwelve theme, that there is a problem with some templates. I know you have come out with a new update, which I assume fixes this problem. The problem is I cant even login to the back end (/wp-admin)in order to change to twentytwelve and update the template. If you could please help me that would mean a lot.

Hey Vlad, there is no issue with any version of the theme that would cause such errors – it sounds like your host is just trying to give you a general suggestion. You can also always update manually by deleting the theme with FTP and uploading the new in its place, but it really sounds like a larger server issue.

Could it be I got hacked? I have just updated manually and still no luck:(
It’s hard to say exactly what happened to your server because I have no access to it and there’s a lot of variables outside of WordPress, but the fact it’s showing “Server not found” points to something outside of the theme you’re using.
I would press your host to assist you more with the matter as they should.

Hey ThemeNectar, I finally got everything back up and running but now when I visit my webpage the style sheets are not getting loaded. As well as the back end area being very slow, and some icons are missing such as ‘Nectar slider’, ‘Home slider’ and ‘Portfolio’.

Hey, quick question, with regards to the Parallax Slider, is it possible to have image layers like you see in some themes, i.e. a logo instead of the heading, then text, or another small image or icon? Does this make sense? So you would have a background image (or video), then a small etched image could appear, then the supporting text? Keen to hear your response, I think it would be a nice feature rather than just text

You can indeed insert images directly into the caption field in each slide if you desire. Just use a standard HTML image like:

Yes, there’s now a shortcode for the blog which you can use anywhere in your editor. Here’s an example of it in action on the demo: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient/home-blog/
So basically, just create a regular page and then in your editor generate a Nectar Slider and Blog shortcode below it

Hello —Any ideas why, when using certain image gallery plugins, the galleries themselves tend to load in a “clunky” way?
For example (and please note the image galleries, upon that first load, shift to the left at first, then resume to their normal position).

There’s one thing I’m trying to accomplish and I can’t figure it out.
I want to be able to link a button to the Portfolio page which is already filtered. So if I have a button called “Video”, I want it to go to the Portfolio page and apply the Video filter automatically. Is there a way to do this other than making new portfolio pages which are filtered?
I tried the data-filter=”.video” in the properties of the link but this only works if you’re already on the Portfolio page.
