Hi, I just purchased this theme yesterday for a client and installed it on wordpress version 3.7.1. I activated the theme and attempted to active the plugins but the visual bakery plugin will not install and gives me this error message, “The plugin does not have a valid header.

How can I fix this problem? The Samba framework plugin installed just fine.

I recommend you to stick the 1-click install sample content feature, because the XML import does not work perfectly on all servers. Also, I can help you with setting up a specific page/content if you can’t figure it out.

If you add members make sure that you set up a featured image for each one (they will be the thumbnails).
There seems to be some confusion: portfolio pages are to show portfolio items, not team members. You can add whatever content you want on the portfolio pages content, but adding some team members to this type of page does not seem to make any sense. Finally: if you are working locally I can’t help you even if you send snapshots, because I need to see the theme Backend on the WP Admin.

Well, I want to show team members in a page, in the same way portfolio items are shown (using grid or masonry).
How can I do that?
I also have portfolio items, so I can’t mix the two things.
As for adding a featured image, this seem a too strict requirement: there are some team members that don’t want to show they picture and I don’t want to use a placeholder. Even with this restriction, you your theme should handle the error, either forcing me to add a featured image (that I don’t think is a good solution), or simply not trying to look for this image at all costs, by simply not showing it, since it doesn’t exists. Please provide a solution to this.
As for the documentation, I’m using it already, thank you: nowhere is written that I must set a featured image for each member. As for the team members, I will use the appropriate item from the visual composer, but as far as I can see, I’m forced to set the number of columns, whilst I want to change dinamically, based on the viewport. With fixed columns, it only goes from ‘n’ to 1 when the window width is too small.
As for the snapshot, I don’t see why you couldn’t use it, if I provide you with an admin account. I provide support most of the times for other WP products, and I often get snapshots from users that don’t want to disclose their site or that, like me, works locally before publishing the final product.
Looking forward to a fix to these issues.

Team members can show on a grid with the shortcode you are already using and you must set a number of columns. They can’t behave like the portfolio or blog. Also for layout purposes team members must have a thumbnail image. If you don’t want to set any specific image use a placeholder image.
Snapshots aren’t good to analyze errors, because I don’t know how you have the content on the backend. The best thing is that you put something online and send me a private message with a link if you still have trouble.

Pirenko, either you don’t know what is a snapshot or you just don’t want to “waste” your time with me. A snapshot is a 1:1 copy of the site. You get an exact copy of the site: contents, settings and everything else. So your point of not knowing how I have the content on the backend doesn’t make any sense.

It’s not a psychological game, it’s just a matted of good sense as it seems you had no idea of what a snapshot is. I wanted to provide you a way to check the site, even though it wasn’t online, but it seemed to me, from your answers, that you didn’t want to bother (or “waste” time) installing a local version of the site I was working, preferring to have an online version.
Anyway, I’m going to write you the private message, not for this issue, but for another one, with a LIVE (but still private) site you can check without the “hassle” of installing the snapshot locally.

Hi Pirenko, I have splitted my site into two areas: one fine art site and the other one how-to-paint. In both menus I created custom links to visit the other sites, but both links don’t work properly. Only a few times I was able to open the page. And they work fine when I open them in a new window.But visitors won’t know this. So when I am on the fine art site the link to the how to paint site should work perfect and when I am on the learning site the link back to my art site should also work perfect. Any idea why they don’t work? I also created a new page but with the same result. one site is: dorisjoa.com and the other is dorisjoa.com/how-to-paint Any help would be much appreciated. Doris P.S. I tried this also on another computer with the same bad result.

I think with “exactly” you mean no image cropping. If this is the case use the Portfolio – Masonry template (the grid and tiled templates will crop images to create “perfect” grids).

Sorry, Let me try again. Theres no problem with the image cropping. But when i click to share the link of a portfolio item, the thumbnail its not the same image of a feature image from the portfolio. Its a different image, from other portfolio item, aleatory. The thumbnail shown depends on the Social Sharing network involved. For instance, it is Facebook that allows you to select from a number of images that it gets from the URL you are trying to share (it’s not the theme that passes a specific image). The theme only shares a URL… On Pinterest we can pass a specific image and in this case the theme is already passing the featured image.

hi, i have a problem. today i had transfer my website to a new domain name. i had change the domain in all parts of the DB but now i can’t set the featured image of the slides, posts and pages. do you know how can i try to do to fix it ? thanks!

It’s hard for me to tell specially because you changed manually the DB. Try again after changing the permalink system, activating one of the default WP themes and turning off all plugins. Good luck!

When you click on button sort by popular. It should sort out the post with out refreshing the page like the filters
Well that is different from the filters, because it changes the order that the posts are displayed. I’ll see if this can be done on the next update. Cheers!

Dunno what you did but after I installed 1.9 all of my font rendering issues vanished. I was moaning a few weeks back that all the fonts I wanted to use (mainly heading/slab based) were rendering badly on PC and iPad 2. Now everything looks lovely so what ever you did (or was it just me reinstalling the theme) it works! This was also the first time I’ve implemented the child theme too btw. Coincidence?

Odd indeed. I guess its possible that in my updates a rogue file caused issues. When I installed 1.9 I did a completely fresh install but only after a delete of the old stuff (not on top of the old files) so who knows. Anyway, all good and thx
Hello, first of all nice theme! it looks very nice and makes fun to work with it. But i have a big problem with it: The theme has some problems on my page “3d-fitness.de” It looks like that the frame doesnt work well on the left sidebar. If i click on the mainlogo or on a link made with a custom menu it takes two mouseclicks to work. Could you help me out that the links reacts immediately?

Dear Pirenko, first of all congrats for the awesome job. We want to use your template in order to create a web radio site. Thus, some questions came up as we were processing our customer’s requests, before purchasing your creation.
1. We would like to have an html5 shoutcast stream radio player. Is the menu bar refreshing or just the main content? For example, if we want to read a post, is the menu bar reloading or not? Because there in that fixed space, we want to have the radio player but not stoping the music an user click a menu item or a post.
2.In the portfolio section, is there a way to show the video play button in the videos as in the blog posts section?

Sorry for the delay but I have been sick in the last day. The theme uses different logos depending on the screen resolution. Make sure you set them properly under Samba Options>Branding tab.

Sorry for the delay but I have been sick in the last day. You can export the database and then import on the “other side” your settings. They are stored in an array and the variable id is “samba_theme_options” and it can be found on the WP Options table.

Some plugins don’t work when Ajax loading is on and this explains the need of refreshing the whole page. You can turn Ajax loading off under Samba Options>General tab. Cheers!
Hi Pirenko, sorry to bother you with a problem again. I have created portfolio pages and in them I included links (add to cart id’s) from woocommerce and I also tried to add product ids from woocommerce. It worked fine but today I figured out that on the portfolio pages the products nor the add to cart are to see. The theme and the plugins are all updated. I also had problems with some of my own embedded videos from youtube. I had them set in a table and they worked fine but now they too don’t show there. I removed the table and now the videos are to see. But the woocommerce products are not to see. It worked fine when I created the portfolio pages, but now it isn’t longer working and I don’t know if it started with the newest update or so. Any idea what is going wrong there? Hope you can help or hope you have an idea what isn’t working. Thank you. Doris

About Youtube: please turn off all the plugins you may have and try again. Woocommerce add to cart button: as far as I know you can’t create add to cart buttons on pages that aren’t a part of the Woocommerce page scheme.
