Hello there,
Since I’ve installed WPML on my clients website, single portfolio pages aren’t loading anymore. To explain it a little bit more: my client website has two different languages, Dutch (main) and English (second). Strange enough, the portfolio works pretty well on the English website. Unfortunately, when I want to visit the same portfolio post on the Dutch website, it gives a 404 error.
I’ve tried to change the slug and update the permalinks, neither of them are working. The portfolio page itself works perfect, pagination etc works like a charm on both languages.
Do you know any solution? Thanks!

Hey John, try opening the functions.php file and making a little edit for me to see if it helps. Find this:
function portfolio_register()
and then down from there a little change this:
'rewrite' => array('slug' => $custom_slug,'with_front' => false),
to
'rewrite' => array('slug' => _x( 'projects', 'URL slug', NECTAR_THEME_NAME ) ,'with_front' => false),

That’s the only piece of code that I believe could be interfering – After making that change did you also translate the string in the .po and refresh your permalinks?
Yes I did, like I’ve said previously. I did translate the string in WPML, but that didn’t help either.

I’ve fixed the issue by myself. I had to translate the slug /project/ in WPML to /projecten/ for their Dutch translation. Everything works well now.

Hi, I have a few doubts about this theme
1. I would like to hide the % in the bar graph. I search I realize that I should put this code in my CSS custom box.

I think I don’t know where the custom box is located. I put the code at the styles, in theme editor.
2. I would like to put the video on the right, align it to the right and be able to resize it, like a picture. How cai I do that?
3. Wvery time I use nectar slider and put a animation, the slider goes black, I can only hear the sound of the video. I don’t know whar I can possible being doing wrong, since I watched the video in the youtube about it and follow all the same steps.

1. The custom css box is located in the General Settings tab in the Salient options panel.
2. Where are you trying to put this video? In page content, in a slider.. etc
You can use column shortcodes to place your video on the right section in a page if you desire.
3. I’m not sure what you mean by “put a animation”, but if you can share your URL where I can see the problem i’d be glad to help

1. Since the largest column is 3/4ths the width of the content I’m not sure why your videos would be too small (video embeds will always fill 100% of the column they’re in) Make sure you’re placing an iframe embed (into the text tab on your editor) and not a flash object as they won’t be responsive.
2. Without being able to see you’re URL, it’s hard to say the issue with your video. Are you setting the video as a video background for the slide or trying to paste an embed for an external player into the caption field? If you’re setting a video background, start by ensuring the supplied formats are correctly encoded by running them through these:

In my menu buttons on www.topdank.com the first one appears black for the link and the rest of them are green. How do I fix those links so they are all light green underneath the slider on the homepage. I was also wondering if it is possible to make the icon link to the web page also. Thank you!

1. You can change the color of your menu links in the header options tab in your Salient Options panel – Just select custom for the color scheme
2. Yes, you can switch the text tab on your editor and wrap the icon shortcode in a standard html link like this:

What do you recommend to use with the salient theme that is similar to buddypress but compatible. My website www.topdank.com needs a user login area that allows them to comment, me to send them emails and talk amongst each other(not as important), favorite posts etc. Any recommendations? Yes, you can nested columns – but you can’t nest the same shortcode inside of itself. e.g.
[one_half] [one_half] [/one_half] [/one_half]
won’t work, but:
[one_half] [one_third] [/one_third] [two_thirds_last] [/two_thirds_last] [/one_half]
will. If you need a one_half inside of a one_half you’ll need to just write the actual html for the column instead of using the shortcode.

I assume the script was breaking when you did that, but I can’t see any issues at the moment since it appears you don’t have the animation on. Have you indeed deactivated the column animations or resolved the issue?

I just updated to 2.5. I am trying to use the masonry portfolio but it seems there are some issues.
- There is always an empty space at the end of the last item - The largest item thumbnail crop is totally warped, i did the recommended size and tried the featured but it looks so weird. - when I added 2 thumbs there seems to be more funky spacing going on. =(

I’m seeing that you can custom thumbnails with dimensions of 600×403 for all. You must supply at least a 500×500 for the default masonry item and 1000×1000 for the tall & wide style. I’m going to make a tutorial on this after the holidays for another reference, but if you need me to set up an example on your site (if you don’t want to import the dummy data) just open a ticket on the support forum and I’ll help with it as soon as I can

I used portfolio eye candy for my home page. However, everything I resize my screen, the box keep running around and create a empty space. Is there a code to make it fluid and resize the block content? How should i do that?

The only thing you could do to prevent spaces to from showing is to remove the responsive css and js that switches the number of columns on the shrinking screen size. It’s expected to end up with an extra open space in the bottom of a masonry layout especially with a low number of items.

How do I customize the size and position of the logo when viewing my site on mobile devices/different screen sizes? I understand how to use the media tag to target specific screens. I figured out how to change the image for the logo on an iPhone for example, but I cannot seem to change the size of the logo or position. I would like to center the logo and make it larger at the top.
