Thanks glad you like it, I’ll consider other ways of releasing it in the future, but at this point it’s only available with Steam.

Hello,

I’ve one question about your themes with this error Notice: Undefined variable: meta in /home/lolcaltest/steam/wp-content/themes/steam/inc/post-loop.php on line 247

Can you please have a look and tell me how can I fix this? THanks

Thanks!

One question if I buy this theme may I use it in an HTML website (not WP)?

This would require custom mods to the code. Actually the fastest way to do it would probably be to install it in a WordPress install and then look at the generated source code in the browser and copy and paste it into an html document.

Nice, I just wondered if it was within the license to just be used in WP, thanks a lot and great works with the theme :D!

Oh yeah you can definitely use it for any use you want and do whatever you want to the code. I think the stipulation is that you need one license per domain that you are using it on :)

amazing work! this theme does (at a first glance) fullfill 90% of my requirements for my project…

One question I would like to ask you:

Is it possible and how “easy” would it be to implement a full-width geomap on the frontpage. my project is going to be a business review site for local business and I would like to implement a map where user can easily click on the markers to jump to the single reviews…

I guess I have to use a plugin for this, but do you think it is feasable to implement such additional large widgets in the current layout? or will this be most likely a project by itself?

As long as you have a plugin or know the code to add that to the page, I can definitely help show you where to insert it into the code to get it displaying where you want it on the homepage. The current “mixed widgets” page builder area displays widgets in 3 columns, but we could either use that and change it to 1 column, or if you want to use that separately on the page I could help you create a new content area for just the map. Please let me know if you have any further questions about the theme, thanks!

Hi! what an amazing theme! presales question in your demo i click on gadgets and see the subcategories cameras, laptops etc. can every subcategory have the top 10 function (scrolling text and other) different top 10 for cameras, different for laptop etc or it works only for the main category(gadgets)?

In that case you can create a minisite for phones and then put both your reviews and non-reviews inside the same minisite, and on the non-review posts set the type as “article” instead of “review” directly within the post settings – that way they could all be in the same minisite – the theme was built to be able to handle that.

Yes thats a nice idea thank you! But i was thinking of seperating totaly the non review articles. What i wang to achieve is when someone visits the review minisite to not see mixed in top ten thennon review or in the home article list! Again thank you and i wish you a happy new year. I will buy for sure your theme its amazing!

Gotcha – yes definitely, I was just trying to brainstorm with you and give you some options :)

hi i have the same issue, the menu disappears once you hover it, and turning on preloading only load logo latest WP update

Thanks, please use the support center and reference that FAQ link. I am out of town this weekend and will be working through support as soon as I get back, thanks for your patience!

The menu does not work properly. With the latest update the menu actually disappears once you hover it. Before it just kept spinning those squares. Tried in Chrome and Firefox with the same result.

Turn on the preloading feature in theme options >> menus

Turn on the preloading feature in theme options >> menus

Stops the site from loading. Only the logo and intial menu loads!

Any ideas?! Sent ticket already!

Sounds like there is a PHP error then. I’ll be working through support asap and getting to your ticket in the order it was received. In the mean time check out this FAQ which could have the solution: http://industrialthemes.ticksy.com/faq/1487

I’m very interested in purchasing your steam theme. I have already bought your swagger last year but need a responsive site now. I sent a few questions to your support area – ticket#139961. I really need these answered asap. Thanks and great theme!

Thanks, I’ll answer over there asap!

Hi there, I am interested in purchasing your theme..although I would like to know whether it supports audio posts (soundcloud or HTML) for the purposes of showcasing/reviewing audio. Also, possibly an events management system (be it within the theme or as an external plugin) Thanks

You can insert audio into post content very easily with the theme. Is there a certain format in which you need the audio to display within the theme? It is also compatible with most events management plugins as well. If you require testing please email me at support@industrialthemes.com.

Let me know if I can answer any further questions, thanks!

First of all, thank you for your fast reply. In terms of the audio from Soundcloud, I was mostly concerned if the artwork would show, as well as including Soundcloud’s drop-down playlist when embedding an EP.

I’m mostly sold on the theme, but was still balking over the lack of audio posts to look at in the demo.

Also, would BuddyPress adhere to the general look and feel of the theme?

Thanks again!

Soundcloud embeds will work and display all of that information and functionality within the post content. Were you referring to having them display within the loops directly?

BuddyPress with this theme uses the default BuddyPress styling and will be contained within the wrapper of the theme. There isn’t a specific BuddyPress skin provided with the theme, but all the functionality does work.

Presale question(s):

I had a chance to check out the back-end of Steam… You’ve put together a heck of a theme, my friend and I’m very eager to start using it. First though, I got a couple quick questions for you:

1. Can badges/awards be available to all posts on the site? I have a set of badges that I need to use for normal posts (eg, “peer-reviewed”, “member-funded”) but it looks like I can only add them to minisites.

2. I have a couple taxonomies already set up. Is there a way to make them available to all posts on the site?

Thanks!

1) The badges/awards system is only available via the minisites, not normal posts. so you are correct in your thinking.

2) You can use categories or tags to assign them to all posts within the site, but taxonomies are minisite-specific, meaning you can only assign the taxonomies created within a minisite to the posts directly within that minisite.

Let me know if you have any further questions about the theme, thanks!

Thanks for the swift response! Is there any chance we could get some custom ‘hacks’ going to address both of these issues? I’m fairly comfortable working with code (no pressure or anything, I just need these two things for my site)

I can definitely point you in the direction of any existing code within the theme and answer any questions about how it currently works. As far as actually making the modifications, that would need to be done by you, but I definitely won’t leave you in the dark figuring out current functionality within the theme to get you started.

Feature Request!

I would love to display rated products like on this page: http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/rankings/Affordable-Small-Cars/

Specifically, I’d like to see for a select category, the order a product ranks and a little box that contains each of the rating criteria.

Any chance this is something that can be added? If not, any points on how I would add this functionality myself?

Thanks.

Another Feature Request!

In addition to editor reviews and user reviews add critic reviews. I’d like to be able to curate ratings from other critics. :)

Thanks for the great suggestions! If you need help locating any specific code to try some of this yourself please open a support ticket so I can better assist you: http://industrialthemes.ticksy.com

Thanks!

Getting this: Fatal error: Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array in …......../wp-content/themes/steam/functions/theme.php on line 596 (i’ve deleted the path for privacy)

I had loaded the demo content, and was in the process of created/replacing the minisites when this happened, and updating the menus. Thoughts?

Sounds like you have not created a primary taxonomy yet for your minisites. All minisites must have a primary taxonomy assigned. For any follow up questions please use the support center so I can better assist you: http://industrialthemes.ticksy.com

This theme is as cool on the inside as it is on the outside, the developer is even cooler. Definitely recommend industrial themes!

Thanks, I consider myself pretty cool too :)

Really glad you like the theme and thanks so much for taking the time to post such an awesome public compliment about the theme!

Greetings,

I like this theme and after doing days of research, there is only 2 question that is preventing me from buying it.

Will it work with WordPress 3.8? How many more updates of WordPress will you give support for?

e.g. 4.0?

Thanks

Very Respectfully,

-Johann

There are only a couple little nuances with 3.8 that I’m fixing in the next theme update, but overall I believe several users have reported that it works fine. I plan on supporting future updates of WordPress with this theme in the foreseeable future. Please let me know if you have any further questions, thanks!

Just bought it!

Thanks for your prompt answer, It’s appreciated.

Glad to have you aboard, thanks so much for your business! Please use the support center for any support questions you may have, or any questions regarding wp 3.8 that we discussed above. Support has been slower this weekend since I’ve been out of town but I’m working through it today and will be back on track to start the work week tomorrow.

HI!

any example for a bbpress site with this theme? Or any thoughts on it – if it works fine together?

thx

Hi, Flavor and steam are better than made with their framework and woocommerce integration. But the ratings are allowed to non logged users. Can we have chance to close adding votes for non logeed users as made theme.I need woocomerce integration with ratings for only users who logged in. Thanks

Flavor and Steam actually work the same way as Made as far as user ratings go – with all 3 themes users can rate using the top controls if they are not logged in. And with all 3 themes you can set it so the comment ratings are only available to logged in users. Maybe I’m misunderstanding?

I just want only the users are able to rate but visitors.( on flavor or steam theme as Made). Visitors must be sign up to rate.Is it possible with steam or flavor theme.

You would have to disable the rating at the top and keep only the comment ratings, and then set your comments to require users to be logged in, that is the way you’d need to go about doing it.

Can I, should I, update to wordpress 3.8?

Hello,

I’m interested in buying your theme to update my news site http://tequierocali.org but I wonder if it is fully compatible with:

- BulletProof Security - Jetpack - cloudflare.com [Rocket Loader™ (Web optimization)]

BTW, when are you planing to release a brand new theme, I’m looking forward to it.

thanks, Alex

I’m not 100% sure about Jetpack – I have heard that at least some components of Jetpack could have a conflict with the theme, but I don’t know for sure. If you need to test please send me an email to support@industrialthemes.com and we can discuss further.

As for the next theme, I really don’t know at this point. Could be a few months or longer. I definitely plan on releasing some updates to my current themes first :)

Hi,

I like this theme and would like to purchase it. A few question pop-up before I commit myself.

1. The demo looks a bit dull, is there anyway to make this theme more colorful?

2. Is this theme compatible with Jetpack? Cause my previous themes went haywire with Jetpack turned on.

3. I also like your other theme: Flavour. It feels more colorful and these 2 themes are very similar. Can you please point out all the differences between these two themes?

4. I would also like to know all the advertising options, like banner positions/sizes, Ad widgets, options to show banner between posts. Or all other options. Cause hey, commerce by advertising is the main source of revenue for me!

1) It’s content focused so the template itself purposefully doesn’t have a whole lot of color. But you can change the color accents using the theme options and get it looking pretty good. If you’re wanting something more designed then Flavor is probably the way to go.

2) Some parts of jetpack can affect some parts of the theme. I’m not sure which exactly, but I believe I have some users using Jetpack perhaps without all of the functionality turned on. If you require testing send me an email to support@industrialthemes.com and we can discuss further.

3) Mainly the design is the difference, they both are very similar in functionality. Steam has more of a page builder approach to the front page whereas Flavor has less content panels and more of a post loop approach for the front page, but everything else is very similar.

4) You have a header and footer ad slot, and a complete ad loop system where you can inject ads within the post loops and specify the amount, offset, and increment. Plus any widget area can hold an ad as well.

Please let me know if you have any further questions, thanks.

Just sent you an email. Please check. Also, can you please expedite the answer as its 9 PM here, and if all goes well, I plan to purchase, configure and setup the theme till morning.

I responded, thanks.
