Boxed Column question: If I have two boxed columns, is there a way to set the height of the boxes to be identical? (I’ve got two columns with significantlydifferent amounts of text and iI’d like the bottoms to be aligned. http://crossfitlamesa.com/coaches/)

That would be kind of hard to do because if you set the height for those specific columns to be the same in the desktop view, for every viewport when the content has different widths, the height will need to be readjusted. So it would require 4 different rules all in the different responsive view ports.

Portfolio question…
Is it possible to have the ‘Sortable Portfolio’ page hold 16 items that when individually clicked shows a gallery of images within a slimbox format.
For example… item 1 (flowers) – click – 10 images of flowers (in slimbox mode) item 2 (food) – click – 6 images of food (in slimbox mode) etc….

Hey Scott! Currently that’s not possible as the lightbox can only show the gallery of all the current portfolio items. To change that to show separate galleries for each project on the main page would require some custom development. If you really want this I’m sure a developer at microlancer could help you out

Hi Nectar. When you get a chance, can you please check these tickets (149789, 150140). Also, on the masonry blog page, is it possible to reverse the title colors to show black for the title and accent color on hover? I also noticed that there wasn’t any Nectar type widgets, for example, Recent Post with Thumbnails. Is this available or being planned for? Thanks!

Now another question. I’d like to have a ‘2nd’ portfolio, in which I can show my services. Is there any way possible to do so?
If I make a new page, called services and select portfolio as template- it redirects to the original portfolio page somehow. Any idea’s to solve this?
And some more questions:
1) When on the homepage, above or just under the line “recent works” I now see a little ‘window’ button so to say on the left side of the page and two arrows on the right side. Is there any chance to remove those since the recent works slider is movable already?
2) How do I get to the page creator and make my custom page(s)?
3) When looking at a portfolio item now, I have the option to leave a reply at the end of the page. This wasn’t so before. How can I delete that?

Hi, I’ve a very big problem after updating to 3.0. My Portfolio isn’t working anymore, and my font (helvetica) changed to a serif font. I need support really quick please

The template names for the portfolio and contact just needed to be changed for 2.6.5 and there unfortunately was no way around having them unassign when doing that. If you never updated to that version than the same thing applies for you in 3.0 – but you probably missed all the messages posted back when 2.6.5 was released then:
“One note for upgrading users – Please make sure the portfolio/contact templates are assigned in your “Page Attributes” box when editing the pages if you notice they are blank. Those two template files had to be renamed for the update and WordPress automatically reverts to the default one when that changes.”
Ah and no links are working… If you are on my start page and click on a Project, for example “Natural Beauty” (in my slider) the 404 error page appears…

No worries It makes sense your link to a portfolio item wouldn’t work until you actually added the portfolio to your page again. Also just remember to refresh your permalinks in Settings > Permalinks by clicking “Save Changes” if you still have any 404’s.

Do have the post format gallery selected for those posts without supply a gallery?
Just upgraded from version 2.6.5 to version 3.0 and WordPress is now UNUSABLE – The salient logo takes up the full bottom left of the screen and the Salient menu keeps flying out, covering the general WordPress menu options.
We have downgraded back to version 2.6.5 – Hope this is resolved soon, as Salient is the BEST WORDPRESS THEME EVER DEVELOPED.

you just needed to clear your cache as you were seeing the new .svg theme options icon and had the old admin stylesheet cached which doesn’t have its sizing rules

Hi, how clean is the code and what considerations have been given to seo on this theme? I purchased another well-selling theme here for Wordpress only to discover that the coding was abysmal seo-wise: using the custom page builder and the myriad of shortcodes, all raw html ends up encoded or encrypted meaning that search engines can’t read the content!

The markup is clean and semantic – which is great for your own readability as well as search engines. The theme does offer a page builder & shortcodes, but the generated HTML is not encoded in any way different than the normal and there’s no way for either users or search engines to tell that either of those were used in the creation of the page. I also recommend users to use Yoast SEO as that will give you full control over your page meta tags.

Hi all, I’ve just updated my site from 2.6 to 3.0 and have run into an issue. Before the update my portfolio page was working, as well as the contact page map. These have now both vanished. For the life of me, I can’t figure out how to get them to display again. Has anyone else ran into this, or know a fix? Thanks

Thanks for the help! Managed to sort out both my issues. Need to get used to the visual composer (which is fantastic by the way!).
Couple more things…
1. Is there any way to make the Nectar Slider text sit right at the bottom? Almost touching the bullets? Currently, having the settings on ‘Center, Bottom’ makes it almost in the middle of the slide.
2. How can I disable the ‘Description’ on team members?

Very nice looking theme Working well on pc but I am unable to load it on iPad mini. A few times the first page – with the “viking-video” – loads, but then it is impossible to use menu to get further into the theme. Most times the browser simply closes down….?! Why is this?

Dear Support,
After upgrading to v3, I am having an issue with the font after activating custom fonts and changing font type, nothing happens on the front end the font keeps defaulting to times roman.
Any ideas.
UPDATE: I think helvetica is not loading from google, and also arial, i have tried ubuntu and its working fine now.

yes the 5 or so default fonts from before the new typography options appear to not load in correctly but all the other 600 Google fonts should work correctly. What version are you upgrading from by the way?

Beautiful theme. I’m considering purchasing this theme for my primary blog but I was wondering a few things about the configuration.
Seeing as my site is primarily blog driven in its content, is there possibly a way to add elements from the home page onto the blog page (which would be the page where my users would see first)?
For example, I would love to be able to add the nectar slider as well as the other sliders etc onto the existing blog page, so my users would not have to jump from the home page onto the blog page in order to access the content.
Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
And by blog, I meant the standard blog format with sidebars.
An added note, is there a way to disable the top menu from sliding along with the content? I would like to at least have it stay at the top of the page without it following the user through the content

Yes, you can place anything you want above or below your blog display including nectar sliders. Also if you wanted the header to stay at the top, that could be achieved with a little css I could provide

I installed the latest update and it has changed my typography to a san serif font rather than Helvetica that its set to… ??!!
Just find an other bug with the new page editor:
You have a multiple arrows layouts bug when you creat a new “portfolio item” with the “Full Width Portfolio Item Layout” enabled and you add a new “Gallery” with the “nectar slider style”.

1. Are you updating from a very outdated version? The new typography options were added back in 2.1 and when that happened it caused the fonts to reset as the list needed to undergo a massive change from 20 fonts to 600+. If you’re having an issue with Helvetica specifically (which isn’t a Google font) please try selecting one of the suitable Google alternatives from the list.
2. There’s no known issue like that with the gallery element, have your cleared your cache & also ensured you’ve done a clean update by deleting the old theme completely before uploading the new? If so, please supply me with a URL so I can check it out for you

1. I updated from v 2.6.5 to 3… and with the older version it worked super fine… but now the “Custom Fonts” doens’t seems to work anymore…
2. I find the problem… it comes from the fact that the “Gallery Slider” was enabled in the “Porject Configuration” window… so I had the default arrows of the gallery + the arrow of the nectar slider…
One other question: do you have a tutorial for the “VC teaser” function… cause I don’t get how it work :/

I’ve noticed an other thing that limit the functionality of your theme: With the new page editor it’s now impossible to add effect (boxed/animation) to a vc_column_inner !?

You can still add an animation or boxed to any column you please actually by just editing each column http://i.imgur.com/4NE2kT3.png
I’m not sure you understand the problem… I talked about vc_column_inner. Please look at the pic below.

If I want to have two completely different portfolio pages, would that be possible?
For instance, The Portfolio 1 with A,B,C sub-categories(for filtering) and Portfolio 2 with X,Y,Z sub-categories. I need to completely separate these two portfolios because it is totally different discipline.
If I buy this, would you help me achieve on this?

Hey Yota! You can already achieve this with Salient but the only thing is that the arrows on the single portfolio page for “next & prev” would still move between all items. You could opt to hide them css easily though.

Is there any way to import google maps and still be fully compatible or import from excel? I make maps with multiple locations that change frequently and need a little info displayed when hovered above. Thanks in advance! Love Salient theme

latitude|longitude|description
There’s no limit to the number of locations either so as long as you can keep supplying your list in that format, you should be good
