png and jpg are both fine. Recommended default logo width is less than 300px and height not greater than 135px – but you’re not limited to that. It’s just what we think looks best.

Hi. Which cache plugin are you using?
The problem with many cache plugins and dynamic pages is that they the cache plugins have no way of knowing something changed on the page. They react to normal page edits only. But many of them like super cache automatically refresh homepage cache on new posts.

The reviews are created by the admins or the editors who can post on your site/blog. Guests/normal users cannot review or rate for now but we’ll include a feature to allow “rating” (x/10) by guests/normal users in a near future update.

Hi, great theme. I was wondering. If i use the blog style listing. Is it possible to make the image and the headline of the blog post larger. Is it possible to add more than two lines of “teaser text”? And if i have a headline with a lot of words..will it show the entire headline or will it cut it off at a certain amount of words.??

3. Larger headlines are wrapped to second line and look fine.

But we can guide you on how to add and style a ticker widget if you have bought something like Ditty Twitter Ticker or have an equivalent free plugin.

Hello, I’m truly impressed with how elegantly laid out everything is in this theme. Really lovely work. I wanted to ask though, when viewing it in landscape mode on my ipad mini, the mega menu is glitchy. It briefly pops up, but not long enough to view any links on it let alone click on one of them. In portrait mode you see the mobile menu. Are you currently working on this issue?
Also, I believe I read in one of the other comments that you are working on integrating full background images on different pages, is this true? And can the slider and featured content area handle videos as well?

1. Yes, there’s an issue at the moment with mega-menu being glitched in landscape mode in iPad. A temporary workaround will be posted on forums before an update in version 1.1.1 is released.
2. Background Images (when in boxed layout mode) are supported for posts, pages, and categories since version 1.1.0.
3. Sorry, the slider doesn’t display videos but uses their featured image instead. We can give you a slight mod if you wish to enable that functionality with Vimeo though – via our Forums.

Sorry to say , but moving the comments section above the related posts section is not possible yet without custom modification to smart-mag/content.php file or preferably overriding it by using a child theme.

I am having real trouble making my logo display on mobile. I have uploaded an image which is 320px wide as my ‘logo image’ in the theme settings but on iPhone it cuts off halfway across as though it’s too big. I can’t really make the graphic much smaller as it will look very odd on the desktop version.
It is like the theme does not make the image 100% to the screen.
Can you please advise?
When using a larger than recommended logo, you can make it adapt by adding the following in Appearance > Theme Settings > Custom CSS:
.image-logo { max-width: 100%; height: auto; }

just a quick question before buying. Can I use the features posts slider as it is on the HOME page of the demo together with the Blog Style Listing ?
And how does the slider work ? Will it show every marked featured post automaticly up to 5 different posts and what about the 3 pictures right of the slider (sorry didn´t know how to describe them) ? How can i work with them ?

1. Yes you can use featured posts slider and Blog Style Listing (or any other listing style / block).
2. The featured content area in SmartMag consists of 8 posts. 5 of these posts are displayed in the slider, while 3 of them are displayed right next to the slider in a post grid. The posts are sorted by date.
The default option of slider is to display images you have marked as “Featured Slider Post?” manually. However, there’s also an option to automatically show the most latest posts in the slider.
Finally, there is another option now. You can display latest 3 posts from a tag or a category instead if you want these 3 posts to work differently than main slider.

Just one more thing, how does the Theme re size the pictures for the Slider and what happens if the picture doesn´t fit at all for the Slider cause it is for example 760 px wide but 1080 height liek a scan of a magazine. This doesn´t happens often but in this case what happens with the image in the slider ? And at last I would like to know how long you are planning on supporting the Theme as I am planning to switch to it very soon but my site allready has a lot of visitors and i wanna make sure that the theme will be supported well.

My god, Sorry to bother you but how can i customize the Author page and text that is shown under the post with the little picture of the author ?
1. About image sizing, we use WordPress’s default featured images with a crop setting. If your image exceeds the required size, it is auto-cropped when you set it as a featured image.
2. “Long-term Support”. We mean it. We are going to stick around for a very long time, hopefully. The support and updates are free indefinitely.
3. You can edit Author Description normally from a user’s profile. For the text you see above authors lists, that’s simply added via the normal WordPress editor when you edit the page.

Basically, while creating a page, under “Page Templates”, select the “Authors List” Template.
Then simply create normal WordPress Users from your admin.

Can you change the homepage slider so that I can incorporate a widget to the right or is is always full screen width?
That’s not a native feature at the moment. But our buyers have achieved both by asking for simple modifications at our Support forums.

Featured Area Post Grid – Custom Category or Tag — the 3 posts on right side of slider
This is an OPTIONAL choice some of our users like. You can use a category or tag to show latest posts from, for the post grid on the right side of slider.
Go to Appearance > Theme Settings > Slider & Featured. Under Right Side Posts Grid, select a category or enter a tag – but not both. Save Settings.

I have two questions:
1) I have a lot of sub-categories that I want my readers to be able to see when they scroll over the navigation bar, but they keep getting cut off. The categories are structured like this: Fandoms (main navigation) > Television (sub-category) > Modern Family (just as an example). However, once I scroll over the Television sub-category to display the names of the TV shows, they stretch so far down that it’s impossible to see them. Even scrolling has its limit, it would seem. Is there a way to fix this? Preferably, I’d like to have the categories listed like a table, with columns.
2) I have a logo and an ad in the header, but I can’t seem to get the logo centered beside the ad. Is there a way to adjust the padding so that there isn’t such a huge, automatic gap between the base of the logo and the top of the navigation menu?

One thing though, regarding the navigation. I did as you suggested but also turned off Sticky Navigation. That seemed to do the trick for what I wanted. However, now whenever I scroll within a few inches of the bottom of the main navigation bar, the sub-categories pop up, without me even moving my cursor over the bar itself.

Edit: The 320px (iPhone version) is not correct on that site. You will have to manually resize your browser to 320 or less width to view that.

There’s very basic implementation – to make it “just work” that we release on request. We have not included it in the main package because customers assume it offers full integration and get confused.

Do you wish to set a background image for a page, when in boxed mode? Sorry, that’s not a feature yet – only background images support is either site-wide (same background on every page) or per-category.
