Hi. Nice theme.
Is it possible to remove the menu background color on the first menu item when the home page loads and only show after that menu item is selected.
The reason i ask is because we do not want to have a home menu item in the main menu, however when we on the home page the first menu item has the background even though it is not the page that is showing as the home page. It is a secondary page.
Is this possible?

Yep, you can actually translate in there but right now the main problem is that you can’t save admin panel. I suggest you to fix this first.
You can fix it by contacting your host provide to increase php max var from your server setting 
Or if you know how to edit php.ini. You can easily do it by yourself > http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9399315/how-to-increase-maximum-post-variable-in-php
This is pretty common issue in server setting, you can easily google for more

I remove the default logo in the wp-content/themes/kingpower-v1-05/images but after removing it’s still there.
