Hello, I need to translate the Product Category string in title but I can’t find the way to do it using po/mo files. Is it planed to be upgraded in future versions or I have to hard-code existing php files?

Do you have a multilingual website or just translating the theme into your language?
1) To run a multilingual website, you can use WPML plugin (wpml.org)
2) And you can translate theme files by using the .po files as you mentioned. In this case, there is no “product category” text in the front end to translate, it can be a category name. ( Product Showcase -> Product Categories )

My site is single language and it was successfully translated by using po/mo files – everything except that one string which I’ve found in /rt-framework/functions/custom_posts.php – line 141. This string keep showing “Product Categories” in browser title bar, I guess because it is not included in po/mo.
Now, I can achieve what I want by editing'name' => __( 'Product Categories', 'rt_theme_admin'), but my edits will disappear once I run theme update, right?
It is for back-end not front-end. When you translate the part, the “Product Categories” text on the admin screen will be changed. There is no “Product Categories” for the front end. Can you please provide me a live url if it is part of front end of your website.

How do I change/control layout for product categories? All I get is 1 product after another with huge featured image.

Annoying bug – can’t use image names if form like ‘slide-image-1280×300.jpg’ in flex slider – permalink to the image gets stripped and the end result is ‘slide-image.jpg’ and obviously slider is broken as whole.

Need a little insight on creating pages using a template. Lets say I create a template called ‘TextPage’. I add two components in it- 1- Text Content and 2- Image. Now I create a brand new page, and apply this template to it. Now how do I add the text and image to this newly created page? Do it add it in the page or in the template? If in the page, where and how? And if in the template, why? because that would mean its not a template, it is essentially a page.

You can create a template to design/create complicated pages and customize content rows / headers / footers just for the template.
There are two case you might need a template;
1- to create a page without using shortcodes and customize the header / footer just for the template.
2- to put some static staff in your pages. It is complicated, let me give you a basic example. Lets say, you’ll need to put some contents into the header or footer of a group of pages only. Or lets say you need to put a banner advertisement up to your all blog single posts. Then you can create a template, add your modules but also add “default content” module. When you assign a page/posts/product etc. with the template the page content and also the template contents will be visible for the page. You can assign same template more than one page.

If I want to create a page without using a template, how can I add layout elements to it? Just using short codes? Don’t you think in that case a page builder will be most ideal? If I need to design a 7-8 page site where a template will be an overkill, I guess I cannot design the pages, correct?
To create content elements for a page you can prefer to use shortcodes, almost all template builder modules has a shortcode alternative. I’m working on to integrate the template builder’s UI directly to the page screen to make the process more easy who willing to create all contents by using the template builder’s UI.

Thanks for you feedback. We’ll keep improving the theme’s back-end the front-end. For example there will be an update in a few days for the theme that comes with handful new features for styled content areas, logo option in the sticky menu bar etc.
Also, I’m king of unable to find an option to change the overall layouts? I want menu to be half-width for example.

Why can’t I add custom icons to top level menus in main navigation 
whichever icon I choose for it only shows hardcoded star icon.
Works fine for top and footer menus.

Hi, we bought the theme 2 days ago, so we are using the latest 1.2.1 version and it’s not possible to use different icons for the main menu items. Only star is appearing no matter what is chosen.

That is not a recommended way to add custom css codes. There is a theme option for it inside the Styling Options -> Custom CSS sub menu. It’d be more practical and safe when you update the theme.

If you put a WooCommerce cart widget to the sidebar, it won’t float because the widget itself is a dynamically resized and breaks floating function. This is why it is disabled for sidebars that contains a cart widget. Other than that it works everywhere unless you close the floating sidebars options via the theme’s General Options.

Yes, there is no WooCommerce dynamic cart widget on that page (the cart that appears inside the sidebar when you add an item to your cart) You can go without the widget, it is optional also there is another woocommerce cart data in the top bar.
Thanks but are you saying that IF i add specifically the woocommerce cart widget (which I have not mentioned at all btw) in the sidebar that this will ‘break’ the product categories that float in the sidebar?

Yes that’s correct! If you don’t use the cart widget, your all pages will have the floating sidebar function. Floating sidebar function is only disabled for sidebars which contains the woocommerce cart widget. In your case, it won’t effect you.

Please import the sample contents that comes with the theme package /rttheme18/Dummy Contents/rttheme18/dummy-contents.xml
It is the cleanest way to import sample contents! As I stated on this tutorial http://support-rt.com/discussion/9114/tutorial-demo-website-templates-sample-contents-updated-14-april-2014-#Item_1 where you downloaded the xml file of “demo website” there can be connection problems between your server and my demo server so if this happens the images may not be imported.
I’d go install the sample contents that comes with the theme then import the sample templates of demo website. It is the cleanest way.

The code i provided is for top navigation menu, if you want to centralize the main navigation menu (the big menu under the logo) unfortunately i have no solution for it at the moment because the sub menus must be re-coded also.
On the homepage slider, can you seamlessly (meaning, keep the design, e.g) install a contact form within the slider to request about 5-6 lines of information right away? If so, do you have any clients that have already completed this? Thank you!

No, I didn’t see it before! But, you can put the slider for example in a 3:4 column and the form in a 1:4 column. But the form will be visible always.

This theme rocks hard with WooCommerce because there is the possibility to get 5 collumns on the product page. Usually there are always 4. And Gravity Form styles are going to be intergrated with the theme styles soon How cool is that!
