The snippet I provided was only for the home page and won’t effect any others. If you still want to use a page template instead, you’d need to delete those divs i.e. the header-outer, header-space and footer-outer 
Does the latest release support BuddyPress (or BBPress)? I saw you said it would a few months ago but haven’t seen any mention of it on the Salient theme forest main page.

Hey ehong33234, unfortunately that item did not make it into the initially intended release – I took time to add basic styling found in the style.css but it could still use some more love before I declare official support.

Nectar Slider- Caption Background. Nice feature, incomplete implementation, option should also give background to Heading or Heading could have it’s own option.
I think its best to have one setting for both and it should be one rectangle calculated based on the text it will be under.

Hello, I was wondering how would i go about making the hover effect only be on the bottom of the projects instead of 100% so the name of the project and the blue background only cover about 30% of the bottom of the entire image.

All of your settings and content will persist through the update You can update by downloading a fresh copy from ThemeForest, deleting the current version you have on your server and uploading the new. I recommend using FTP, but you can use the WP dashboard if you prefer.

Hi,
I am looking to pull in multiple types of specific categories of marked posts onto a single page.
I have figured out that if I use the short code:
[recent_posts category=”category name”]
That I can pull in one type of category onto a page without issues.
However, when I try to do more than one category with the short code, for instance: [recent_posts category=”category name, another category”], the page begins to get buggy.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you

You’re actually able to use multiple categories like that in the shortcode – you can also just simply highlight multiple categories in the list in the recent projects shortcode/visual composer element. Hi, I posted this a couple days ago on the support forum but haven’t heard back yet. We are having problems embedding videos that aren’t iframes. Regardless of the height that is specified and whether or not it is set to “100%” or “auto,” the video always displays at 150px high and can’t be changed. It doesn’t matter if the video is embedded in the text editor or in the raw .js module, it always displays at 150px high.

I have a problem regarding a full screen video on the frontpage. It works perfectly in Firefox and Chrome, but in Safari the video is shrinked and has a big black border around it. It is 16:9, available in mp4, webm and ogv. I used a nectar slider as shortcode (fullscreen) with transperent navigation. Hi, can I change the order of portfolio items? Unless I’ve overlooked it somewhere, I haven’t found any info on this.
I’ve tried another plugin to reorder items, which works in another premium theme, but it’s not working in Salient.

Good morning, my client is using your template. I love it, now I have the problem that consumes a staggering amount of bandwidth. In two days was consumed 2GB of bandwidth. In the server I suggest that if you continue with that template in meno a week it will consume GB allocated bandwidth. Now my question is why is the high consumption of bandwidth?

You can easily check with your hosting company to see what’s consuming the bandwidth – with that much being used I assume there must be some video files being served?

Hi ThemeNectar, I was searching through the comments hoping to find the right CSS code for my question. I would like to increase the padding on the left and the right side of the text on my pages. I’d like to add some space around the text to make it look more clean. The text blocks are a bit too close to the edge of the website at the moment. That’s because I decreased the width of the website a bit with some other customisation.

Hi. I need a website to use as a html5 game portfolio. Each page will have a gallery, text informations and a game. The visitors will have free access to images and text information, but I need to control access to games by password.
See this example (http://peaksel.com/). After clicking on the image that appears on the home page, open the page of the game. In my case, it will be shown photos and some text will be included with game information and instead of video, the game itself will be shown if the password is entered.

If you have a way of handling the password protected games then yes – but there’s nothing in the theme itself to allow password protection just on one element inside of a portfolio item. That would require the use of a plugin or some development as there’s currently only the option to password protect an entire project.

Hi, I am using the SEO plug-in ‘All in one SEO pack’ with your theme. When I delete the ‘site title’ from > settings > general to have a clean title for the individual pages it leaves behind a pipe in the browser title bar at the end of each title. Any way to get rid of this pipe? edit a template or via backend? thanks

Two quick questions:
1. On my portfolio page I would like to remove the option for users to sort by ‘All’, is this possible and if so how?
2. On portfolio again, when a certain category is selected / filtered, I have set-up so that when you click a photo it brings up a lightbox only, however this then displays all images from all categories rather than simply those from the selected category. Can you please let me know how to fix this?

I understand that this might be outside of your expertise, but I just attempted to update the plugin ‘Backupbuddy’ and immediately received (and continue to receive) the following error when I try to login to wp-admin:

I’ve done a lot of searching around and apparently sometimes themes can cause this issue, so wanted to check if you knew of any way to solve this? I can still view all pages of the front end of my site but cannot access the backend. Because I cannot access the admin area to deactivate the plugin, I tried deleting the plugin from my FTP, but am still getting the same error.
Any help to solve this would be greatly appreciated!

If a require is failing within the plugin it seems more likely that the plugin update got corrupt or something happened on the server especially since no errors are listing anything to do with the theme itself.

Is there any way to reduce the size of pie charts on mobile devices?
My current situation is that I have a half row, and in one of those half rows I have another three row section (similar to your about us extended demo with the client slider), and I have place pie charts in each of the 3 rows.
On a mobile device however each pie chart takes up the entire screen and it all looks completely out of place. I can send you some screenshots if you don’t understand what I mean.
So basically I am asking how I can make pie charts show much smaller on mobile devices so that say 3 pie charts show on a mobile screen.

This works great for the pie charts I needed changed however now all the content on my site is affected by this custom css. My other pages now have their sections side by side.

Hey again! I forgot to specify to only target the nested columns within the full width content row so now no others should be effected except for half columns nested in a 1/3 – so the difference is the .vc_span4
