Hello! I just bought the template. It’s gorgeous and well documented. Good job! I’ve got one question though: on the bottom of the vertikal demo page there is a send message widget (or something else). How can I make something similar? Thank you for purchasing Vertikal! If you’ve imported demo data by following the documentations, you should have this on your site right now. But if you didn’t import sidebars demo data, please go to Contact Form 7 and make a new contact form there. Then put the following code as its content:
<div id="footer-contact"> [text* your-name watermark "Name"] [email* your-email watermark "Email"] [textarea your-message watermark "Message"] <button type="submit" name="contact-submit"><i /> Send</button> </div>
and save it. Then put its shortcode in a footer sidebar via Text Widget.

Acutally I’ve got one more question: is it possible to change the text of the search field? Right now it says “Search and hit Enter!” and I would like to change it to something different. Furthermore when I search for something it just gives me [...] and a “Read more” button. How can I actually show the results and maybe change the text of the “Read more” button as well? I’m glad that the previous issue is fixed To change the text of the above items, you have two options:
1. Edit files manually. 2. Translate your theme with .po files.
If you want to go with translation please follow the instructions in documentations but if you want to edit the files manually, you may find search string here:
/wp-content/themes/vertikal/searchform.php
Then replace your text in this part:
_e('Search here...','vertikal')
to change read more in search results, please find and edit this file:
/wp-content/themes/vertikal/layouts/blog/content-loop.php
Then on line 62 edit this code:
_e( 'read more', 'vertikal' )
I hope this helps. Please make a backup before editing the files

Hey again! I was wondering if it’s possible to put some custom text into the top bar, where there’s supposed to be the mail, phone and social icon info. Can you help me out once again? You should do this by doing some small customizations in your header.php file. Please find and edit this file:
/wp-content/themes/vertikal/header.php
Then on line around 322 find this code:
<ul class="social-icons">
</ul>

I have an issues for the “Next”, “Previous” and “Back to Case Studies” links on the Portfolio page. I have three items the “Next” link toggle between the 1st and 2nd items and “Previous” toggles between 2nd and 3rd and the “Back to Case Studies uses the href=”javascript:history.back(); instead of linkning to the page that is specified in the Portfolio Archive Page.

Great theme however the setting to change the logo background color appears to be broken. No matter what color I set it to it appears not to change on the site.

If they are not working as well, it maybe caused by lack of write permission on your dynamic.css file which Vertikal theme will generate and save all theme option styles in this file.

Well the best way to test your site before setting it as your main site is to make a sub-domain, install it there and test it. Once it’s done, you may use a plugin to move your site to the original URL or doing this manually by exporting then importing your content.

About different templates, Vertikal will have a header, a main navigation on left side and a footer in all pages which you can’t change it without customization.
But if you mean the content of pages, you can make as many layouts as you wish via our page builder (Visual Composer).
If you want different submenus for different pages, you may put it in a sidebar like the page which I’ve sent you its URL and I hope you can see it this time.

Thank you for purchasing Vertikal! Since you have page builder in your theme, you may create unlimited layouts without using page templates.
Just create your pages and leave page template to default, then enable Visual Composer on pages or posts and make your preferred layouts. No limits!

We already have the page builder plugin and most of our contents are based visual composer. But it doesnt feet our needs in terms of page templates.
Below are some specific pages of our website. Using different page templates is easier for the majority of people who work on the website.
I can set myself other page template, but i need the main architecture. It is clear for you?

I hope I’ve understand it properly. Your left side menu is the same on all pages but you need to have a custom inner menu per page, just like what you have here:
http://cri-paris.org/master-aiv/which has 1st year, 2nd year and … right?
If so, you may create different sidebars by going to “Appearance > Theme Options > Unlimited Sidebars” and add different sidebars here for different pages.
Then create a menu for each section and put the menu in those different sidebars.
Finally edit your pages, and in sidebar settings choose right or left sidebar layout and choose the sidebar which you’ve created specially for these pages as page sidebar.
This way, you will have different sidebars with different menus for different pages without making different page templates.

Well if you want to have a sidebar below the banner area (not on left or right side) you may create a custom template. It’s not very hard to do and if you are familiar with PHP and WordPress templates, I’m sure you can do this. But anyway if you had any problems on it, please open a ticket in http://themique.ticksy.com and I’ll help you to do it.
About custom horizontal menus, we have styled custom menus widgets to be vertical but you may add your own custom CSS codes to make it as well. So the quick answer is we don’t have horizontal menu in Vertikal but you may add it on your own.

I have another request, can you tell me if it’s possible to integrate a small slider in the banner, we would like to display our partners logos. As they are numerous, we think about creating a small slide on the right side of the banner.

I’m glad that you’ve sorted out the sidebar type issue. For the slide, I would recommend to use Revolution Slider to make your slides.
In Revolution Slider you’ll be able to add as many images (your partners) as you wish and animate them with different effects.

Yeah you are right. I’ve removed some of the elements that we had similar elements in our theme or even some of them which won’t look very fine in Vertikal theme.
By the way, you may bring them back to Visual Composer by finding and editing this file:
/wp-content/plugins/js_vertikal_addons/index.php
then on line around 3054 find this block:
/* Remove Elements From VC */
and then comment some elements that you want to bring back to VC.
Please note that since I didn’t include these elements in the theme by default, they may need some custom styling to look better in Vertikal theme and you should do this on your own.

There is a little tab on the top right corner of the page that when clicked brings down a grey header that says “Pre-made Skins Here you can see the….”
How do I get rid of this tab?
Also, the background image seems to have issues with internet explorer, it seems to align itself the the left leaving an empty backdround on the right side of the page (not sure if this is what it’s actually doing, just my description of the issue). Is there a workaround or a fix for this? I used a 1920×1080 image.

If you want to remove toggle bar, please go to “Appearance > Theme Options > Header Options > Header: Toggle Bar” and set “Enable Toggle Bar” to off.
If you want to remove “Pre-Made Skins” wording, please to go “Appearance > Widgets” and replace widgets in “Toggle Bar” sidebars with your own.

Hi. Beautiful theme. Before purchase a question for the menu. When the menu ends its an empty area below (see the main background) which seems not well while the main content is keep going down. Even when stop scrolling the main page the footer dont stop in the same position that menu ends. It will be perfect the sticky vertikal menu use the same container with the main content and not standing alone in the left 
. Can be fixed in a future update? This is the only reason that i’m not buying it now.

OK actually kinda weird. Now it’s back again (The arrow in top right).
I thought it was because I was logged in, was there then it wasn’t there.
SO when I turn toggle back on, so the contact info and social icons appear, then the arrow thingy is back again.
Is there another way to keep the contact info at top, yet get rid of the arrow?
