Hi,

I’m unable to get the navigation colours to show up. I’ve set the colours but still nothing, can you please help.

Thanks

Hey S9uga,

Thank you very much for your purchase, I hope you enjoy using the theme.

Did you follow the steps in the documentation? You need to add menu items using the relevant option, for example if you want to add categories to the menu, use the “Category” WordPress menu option in Appearance -> Menus to add it. Then simply edit the category settings (Posts -> Categories) and give it a “Category global color” using the colorpicker, and it will all automatically work.

Thanks, I found the problem, was an error with a plugin – Thanks again.

No problem :)

Hi, is it possible to put the secondary menu on top of the page? It conflics with main menu if its to big!

best

r

Hey R,

It is possible but only by hard-editing the code of the theme to move the location and then possible adding some custom CSS to make it all work, however this type of customization is not part of the free support policy, so you will need to hire your own developer, I would recommend looking on http://studio.envato.com as it’s run by the same people who run Themeforest.

Pre-sales question:

Is Valenti compatible with the latest version of WordPress? I think it’s WordPress 3.9

Hey Catigbe,

Thanks for the interest. Yes, the theme is 100% compatible with WordPress 3.9.

Cubell

Hello, i have two questions. 1.How possible is to use the the grinds of SectionA and D to sectionB and C?

2. How possible is to add on each grid the option select by ValentiBlogStyleHomepageGridFeature. I menan to add on this http://puu.sh/9CDYk/5c88709913.png, this option http://puu.sh/9CEaD/fc339a2bad.png.

Thanks a lot!

Hi Lagiosdi,

Thank you very much for your purchase, I hope you enjoy using the theme.

1- That is not possible, they were designed for Sections A/C only.

2- It depends on your setup, but that feature option is for a grid that appears on a “latest post style homepage” (Settings -> Reading > Latest posts option), if you use the pagebuilder, you can use the category/tags/post filter, and to feature posts, I recommend using the tag option. Give your posts a special tag, for example “featured”, and then use the By Tags filter option in that grid module, and then set that grid to only show posts with that special tag.

Cubell

Hi Cubell. How are you today? How can I show only 3 posts instead of 4 in Slider A option? Thanks for your kind help, Regards.

Hi Leeloo366,

I’m fine thanks, hope you are well too :)

Use the Slider A in Section B, as that shows 3 posts at a time, the version that shows 4 is in Section A.

Cubell

Thanks Cubell.

No problem :)

Hello, i want to increase the number of post to show because 12 is insufficient for my web so… how i can do that? Thanks ;)

Hi TMJWeb,

Where do you mean? If you mean your blog style, you have to go to Settings -> Reading to increase it, if you mean the modules, that isn’t possible, you can add multiple modules and use the offset to show more posts.

Cubell

Hello,

Just bought the theme (congratulations, it is great really) and installed it, but I have a problem with the grid on homepage (conso-mag.com).

We can only see the top left corner of each image, not the full ones. I guess there is an option somewhere I didn’t find, but where ? Could you please help me ?

Thank you for your time.

Cheers,

J.

Hey J,

Thanks very much for choosing Valenti and for your kind words :)

It sounds like you needed to regenerate the thumbnails, and after going on your site it looks like you did it. Glad it’s all fixed now!

Cubell

Hello,

Thank you very much for your answer. I just solved the problem, indead !

Cheers,

j.

No problem, glad you could :)

I think my mac is infected by malware/spyware. Strange thing is I have problem only when I open the site of “Discussion on Valenti” or site I created by Valenti (sorry I can’t attach screen shot here). Whenever I open my site there’re links(see green ones) I didn’t create and if my mouse hovers it then many advertising sites pops-up creating hundreds of websites stored cookies. I’ve contacted my host as you recommended but they said they didn’t detect any infection after running virus scans on my site, presumably it’s only my Mac or my wordpress theme is infected – is there any solution I can get rid of these malwares from these sites/my Mac? Thanks, Elaine

Hi Elaine,

Unfortunately I can’t really help you much, I provide help for theme-related problems, not general computer problems. But some basic advise would be to try typing your symptoms and any possible identifiers of the problem (if the same pop up shows up, type the title of it) into Google and see if you can get it fixed using an antivirus or antispyware.

Hi Cubell,

Great theme, one of the best I’ve seen with the review function. 3 questions: the theme is compatible with gravity forms? is there any way to rank widget based on “like” or “most view”? when I use the smartphone’s menu icon is very small, there is some adjustment option on the menu, how to fix the menu at the top of the screen?

Thank you.

Hey Rodthink,

Thanks very much for the kind words and interest :)

1- I have never used Gravity Forms, so the theme has not been tested with that plugin. The theme was written properly, so any plugin that is written with WordPress coding standards will work fine though.

2- There is a Valenti popular post widget that currently has the option to rank by comment number, but I hope to add a new option to it to use the number of views in a post in a future update.

3- You can increase the size of almost anything with some CSS, in fact, I can tell you now how to do it for the menu icon in mobile, simply copy/paste the following code into your Theme Options -> Custom Code -> Custom CSS box:

#cb-top-menu #cb-small-menu-trigger {font-size: 18px; }

And increase the value.

Hope this helps

Hello,

The theme has a bug on the video page template. If you start the video and then resize the browser, the video does not move or resize with it. It looks like this is due to absolute positioning which does not adjust.

See image attached

http://s17.postimg.org/7hluw9cnj/Screen_Shot_2014_06_18_at_2_12_04_PM.png

Hi Kylecfoley,

Thanks for the interest in the theme. That isn’t a bug, it is like that on purpose, when the browser is loaded the video proportion is calculated to fit perfectly in the space available. As it is incredibly unlikely a normal visitor would start resizing their browser when clicking to watch a video, there is no point in bloating the theme with extra code to resize that video in that situation. Refresh the post after resizing the tab and you will see if fits perfectly again. Thanks for bringing it up though.

Cubell

Hahaha, that is very arrogant of you to say. It IS a bug, you’re really just implying it’s so unlikely a situation that it isn’t worth your time. This is understandable, but do not say it isn’t a bug, it absolutely is.

“Bloating the theme” ? Yes, a few extra lines of javascript will really kill the performance…

Thanks :)

I was not intending to come across as arrogant, jQuery is completely overused and abused by developers who don’t understand it properly, but you are right, it wouldn’t be the end of the world to make it behave that way, I might do it for the next update.

Cubell

Hi, Cubell! How to change separator (») in title?

Hey Kaydarov,

Thank you very much for your purchase, I hope you enjoy using the theme.

What title are you referring to? The titles in the breadcrumbs? Or the breaking news block?

Cubell

Hi,

it is a big problem for my site that the navigation bar shows only up to 3 levels (Home >>> Sublevel 1 >>> Sublevel 2). I dont’t know why there is this restriction since you can create infinite amount sublevels with the respective parent category. It’s just that the breadcrumbs do not display correctly.

Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks, Phil

Hi Phil,

The breadcrumbs block will be developed further for infinite sublevels to appear in a future update.

Cubell

Hi there. First off, great theme! Im about to press the buy button but need one small question answered please:

The top leaderboard image also resizes when you make the browser small. Which makes the ad appear off screen if its a google flash ad. How do we make that leaderboard ad responsive so that it disappears when seen in mobile views?

Thanks!

Hey Friskygeek,

Thanks so much for the kind words and interest :)

Everything is responsive in the theme, including ad blocks, and if you use image adverts (you manually add an image using HTML code) the theme will resize it correctly, however, if you use an external Ad service, such as Google AdSense, then the ad service needs to give you an ad that is responsive, a theme cannot force an external ad to be responsive without breaking the terms and conditions of the ad service.

AdSense does have responsive ads, so if you plan to use it, simply check this https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/3543893 to set it up properly.

Also, you can make an ad dissapear in mobile view using custom CSS code, but if you do that on a Google AdSense ad, you would be breaking their terms and conditions and if caught, they would ban you for life, so it’s not worth it!

Hope this helps

Cubel

Aha! THat was what I was looking for! Thanks for the fast response! I’ll be buying it today! ;-)

No problem, happy I could help :)

Hi,

I really enjoy your theme and am almost buying it. However, I could see in your feature list that you state “Designed with valid HTML5 + CCS3 code”.

I ran your demo through W3C CSS (level 3) validator and got 375 errors (plus 767 warnings).

Do you have any plans to clean up the CSS or at least bring it closer to compliance?

cheers, miguel

Hi Miguel,

Thanks for the kind words and interest.

Yes, the theme is written properly and passes HTML validator with 0 errors, which is extremely rare for any site (just try to validate google.com)

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fvalenti.cubellthemes.com%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

But the CSS is different, what you need to understand about those validators is that they aren’t saying the there is bad code, they are saying that the code isn’t 100% to the “standards”, which is not a problem at all, like I said, try validating google.com and you will get lots of errors.

And the reason there are so many CSS “invalidations” (on every site/theme) is because CSS has strict guidelines, but it depends on the browsers interpretation of the code that counts, so for example a lot of CSS2 and CSS3 code does not work on Internet Explorer and the only way to get Internet Explorer to behave is to add “filters” CSS which Microsoft created specifically for Internet Explorer but is invalid CSS and will flag up as an error in a CSS validator. In short, if you have 100% valid CSS code, your site will have lots of problems in different browsers and it makes no sense to have it that way.

Hope this all makes sense.

Hi! My brother tries to make the theme in a different language. Where can he edit the code for the dropdown and the Search rollover text and “Search” text in the search-pop-up?

Please tell him to open up a ticket at the support system using his purchase code at: http://cubell.ticksy.com and I’ll try to help further there.

It’s okay :)

Hi,

How can I make my email subscription widget looks like this http://i.imgur.com/B55u59e.png http://wanderlusters.com/

Hey Abo1bs,

I believe they used this plugin: http://codecanyon.net/item/mymail-email-newsletter-plugin-for-wordpress/3078294 and added a bit of custom CSS to change the colors to match the footer (or maybe the plugin has settings for that).

Cubell

PLEASE I want to know this custom CSS to change it

Hi again,

You need to ask the author of whatever subscription plugin you use for help to customize its colors, as it is unrelated to the theme.

Cubell

Hi Cubell,

I’m wondering if it’s possible to put something like your Valenti Ads 125×125 widget in the end of the front page http://www.voyagesetenfants.com ( to put some logo) juste before the footer! Because whem I try by myself, it puts all the images below each others!

Thanks for you answer!

Hey SandVE,

Try this, copy/paste the following code into your Theme Options -> Custom Code -> Custom CSS box:

#cb-section-d  .cb-module-custom p,  #cb-section-d  .cb-module-custom div { display:inline-block; margin: 0 20px; }

Should do the trick with your current HTML code.

Cubell

First… nice job for this amazing theme! Second… one short question: a few month ago someone was asking for a shopping cart icon in the top menu. You said you’ll look into this and will add a cart button nest to the login and search icons. I see in the demo that the cart button is still not present. Did you manage to add the cart button? It’s really important cause the shop section it’s not much use without a shopping cart.

Hey again,

No problem! And ah I see what you mean, that would definitely require extra code, but it should be really simple to do, so I will look into it and see if I can add the option in a future update. Thanks for the suggestion :)

P.s There is one plugin that lets you do this already that you may want to test out in the WordPress default theme, if it works fine, it will work in Valenti too: https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-menu-bar-cart/

Cubell

Thanks Cubell! That’s exactly what I needed! One more reason to buy your theme!

No problem and thanks again :)

hello and congratulations for this theme. probably the best i ‘ve ever purchased.

One question… if you can help me. My website doesn’t have much traffic… but increases the load of my server a lot… I was thinking of using some caching mechanisms like memcache and varnish but the problem is that even if i set to purge the articles on update or publish, the articles that are displayed in the menu are not updated. have you ever faced this problem? thanks in advance.

Hey Silktech,

Thank you very much, it’s wonderful to hear you like it so much :)

If the articles aren’t being displayed in the menu, it sounds like your plugins are breaking the Javascript on your site (things such as sliders/megamenus/etc need Javascript). If you search for “performance” in these comments you will find lots of discussion from other users, some who got 99/100 speed scores shared the plugins they used. I think the most recommended setup seems to be installing W3 Total Cache + autoptimizer + Smushit plugins and ensure your images are optimized so that they aren’t huge file sizes.

I hope this helps

Cubell

thanks for your quick reply! may be i didn’t explain it well, i used w3 total cache, mega menu is displayed but its contents are not purged when a new one is published, so it just does not display the latest articles…

Ah I see, so when you publish a new post, it isn’t visible anywhere/megamenu? If that is the case, that is definitely not the theme doing it and you will have to look through your plugin settings to find out what is doing it, because that definitely doesn’t happen to the theme by default. Try disabling one by one to find the culprit and then check the settings.

Cubell

LOVE THIS THEME! Omg! Excellent work.

Quick Question. I used Slider A to display CD Covers. Is their anyway to change the height of Slider A so that the whole cover fits and it’s not cut off at top or bottom?

Hey AlainaLewis,

That’s great to hear, thanks very much for the kind words :)

That is a tricky one i’m afraid, because if images in a slider aren’t all the same height, the slider looks bad/broken, so it uses a thumbnail of a specific size, and the only way to change it would be to edit the set a new thumbnail size in functions.php that you want + edit slider A to use that thumbnail size + force regenerate thumbnails, but you would have to do this after every update!
