Hi! I downloaded the Ublog theme. Installed it. But when I try to go to wp-admin this message comes: “To perform the requested action, Wordpress needs to access your web server. Please enter your FTP credentials to proceed. If you dont remember your credentials, you should contact your web host.” And this happens only when Ublog is installed. I tested with another themes and they worked properly. Can you help me?
Hi
This may be because theme options of theme requires to create a folder. Your user may not be root user. You may enter your FTP details there or contact your web host.
What folder? The folder the web host created was the upload folder. Is that one? And when I enter my FTP details nothing happens. With the Root user is ok. Is all working well. But I can do it with another user. Why? I can with other themes.
I have no idea about this thing. It is related to your web server because theme is not asking for any FTP details on other servers, neither on my servers nor on other customers.
Theme creates folder for fonts in uploads folder.
Yeah. I thought that either. But I have other 2 purchased themes and Im not having this “problem”. I tried everything. Really! So, if Im having this problem only with your theme, can I have a refund? Or, can u indicate another theme of yours that is similiar with Ublog, so we dont have to undo the purchase?
I am sorry but ThemeForest doesn’t allow refunds to themes. You may still contact their support team if they can issue refund to you.
As I already suggested, theme doesn’t have any issue. It’s with your host and you must contact them because you are paying them for hosting.
Hi
An update to theme is just released and you might have got an email regarding this. Theme doesn’t ask for FTP details now. You may update it.
Thanks
Hello,
I have not received the PSD file we agreed.
Congratulations for the great theme!
Hi
Sorry, I forgot about it. I’ll send it to you today. Did you send me mail?
Hey
I just checked that I already sent you PSD on 31st July. You must check your spam folder.
Sent again. Earlier also mail was sent to this email ID.
I received.
Thank you very much.
Cheers
Another three bugs:
1.) On top of an article on the left is displayed the category. But if an article has more than one category, there ist still displayed just one category name. Can you fix that?
2.) Trackbacks/Pingbacks aren’t displayed. Could you add an option show/hide Trackbacks/Pingbacks?
3.) I’m using the “Categories” widget on the sidebar. I’m using nested categories and have enabled “Show hierarchy”. But the CSS doesn’t support the hierarchy visually.
So far my second bug report. But let my say, that I still like the theme very much!
Hi
1) This is not a bug, more than one category doesn’t look good here. That’s why I restricted it to just one category here.
2) Yes, I can add it.
3) Added CSS for it.
Thanks for notifying the bugs. Update is ready but I am thinking it delay it for some time. If you find any other bug, I can fix it with coming update.
Thank you for your fast reply!
1.) Ok, I se the problem and agree. Would it be possible to display all categories in post meta info? (not working at all yet)
Ok, two further problems/suggestions:
4.) I like working with many tags. But the result is on the post meta info a bit strange, especially the position of the vertical hyphen: http://pbrd.co/1uKKpWR
5.) This is not absolutely necessary, but would be nice, if the order of the social links in the header would be sortable.
Many thanks in advance!
1) No, it will confuse the novice users. We need to arrange things keeping all kind of users in mind. If you want, you can add it yourself.
4) You are using too many tags. I think it will be like this only. Do you have something in mind for this thing?
5) I will see if it is feasible to make those links sortable.
Thanks for suggestions
Your request to add option to sort links in header is added to next update.
Also added pingbacks at the bottom of comments. Whenever an articles gets pingbacks, these will be shown below comments.
Great, thank you!
When will the next update be released?
Very soon
Very fine theme! I’m trying to use it as my next blog theme.
However I discovered some strange behaviour:
I’m using a child theme. All is working fin except the Post Meta Info Options: They are taking no effect – showing up all whatever settings I adjust.
Is there a solution to this problem? Du you need further Information?
Many thanks in advvance!
Yes, there is bug in post meta. I am uploading an update.
Thank you!

Hello. I just found this theme is great. I have two questions before purchasing it.
1. Can I remove/hide below items in the post box at the main page and each posting? 1) SIMRANDEEP 5 COMMENTS 663 VIEWS 2) date & category 3) social buttons at the bottom of the posting box at the main page?
2. At the main page with two columns grid, instead of above items (1,2,3), can I make photos or images bigger or higher? (in the posting box, the images are shown on the same size all the time or they are changed by the sizes of uploaded images?)
Hello
Glad you like the theme
1) Yes you can do all these changes with options panel.
2) Photos or images can be of same size as shown in demo.
Thanks for the update.
But I’ve found a new bug. Disabling “views” in options has no effect. Views in post-meta are always visible.
And I have two feature requests. Would it be possible to choose selected posts with id instead of categories for the featured posts on Blog-Homepage? And the plugin “Lazy Load for Videos” isn’t working. Could you tell me, why?
I am also thinking to provide option to choose posts instead of categories. I will see if it is possible for next version.
Lazy Load for Videos plugin is working. I checked it on my server.
Nice work, just want to know does the theme contain demo xml file?
I will give you demo xml file if you want.
Great, so once I buy it, you will send the file to my email I guess?
Yes
I am about to purchase your product but I need to make sure that I can customize the background color. I need this blog to be integrated with the rest of our website. So we need to make sure of this. Thank you for your help.
Hi
Yes you can change the background colour. You can even change background color and image for each and every post and page.
thank you so much for your prompt response!!! I Will go ahead and make my purchase.
Good luck
Hi sorry to be a pain, there are several effects on the Ublog live preview that I can’t see how to do even though I have read the documentation. I admit that this is all new to me. - The ‘Popular’ and ‘Recent’ blogs sidebar that overlap/sit as tabs on top of each other – how is this done? - The three posts in a rectangle grouping, one with a slider, that sit just below the Header and menu – how is this done? - The social media widget on the right hand side of the Ublog – how is this done – I can’t see it as a widget? - The quote in the coloured text box at the bottom of the Ublog live preview – how is this done? - These were all key parts of my decision to buy your Theme as they look great, but I can’t as yet see how to set them up. - I also want to insert a link to another website with a Jpeg image sitting over the link – is this possible? Can you please help.
1. This is a tabs widget.
2. This is a featured section that is activated from Theme Options -> Blog section
3. It is a social buttons widget
4. This is a quote post format
Where do you want to put jpeg image with a link?
Thanks, I have now sorted out 1, 3, and 4. I activated the featured section to sort out 2, but as well as getting the featured blogs, I also got the following message: Warning: implode() [function.implode]: Invalid arguments passed in /var/sites/r/retirementdecisions.info/public_html/wp-content/themes/ublog/inc/featured-section.php on line 10
I would like to put the Jpeg with a link to another website in the sidebar. Thanks again for your help.
This error is because you didn’t select category/categories for featured section.
You can add it in text widget with following syntax:
<a href="link to website"><img src="Link to image" /></a>
Thanks, I have now got this sorted. A couple of more quick questions please – can I change the colour of the ‘Read More’ buttons on the blogs and the ‘subscribe here’ button on the sidebar? Also, on the recent posts/popular posts sidebar, the category name instead of being directly below the blog details, is for one of my blogs over to the right, but for the others it is directly below – can you please tell me how to fix this?
Hi, another question please – when I add a featured image to my blog posts, they are huge (about 4-6 inches tall) even though I have purchased the smallest size available from the online stock photo seller. I have tried scaling them in Wordpress to make them smaller, but it makes no difference – can you suggest anything please?
If you change the color scheme of the theme then color of buttons is also changed.
May I check your blog for tabs (recent posts/popular posts sidebar)?
Images can’t be large. They are resized automatically as per theme’s requirement whenever you add new image.
Thanks for your reply. The website address is www.retirementdecisions.info. I simply bought the smallest sized photos I wanted then uploaded them. I tried to scale them and crop them on Wordpress but it made no difference. There also seems to be a big gap between the featured posts and the blogs.
You are using too small images. You must use larger size images. Images will be cropped automatically.
Gap is also because of small images.
What minimum size should I use?
Minimum size is 713×330px
Thanks again – problem solved. My blog is really starting to come together – really pleased. As a beginner with a few bits of direction from Bloompixel, things are starting to look great on my new blog – excellent blog and great after sales service/help.
Glad you like my theme and services
Could you please spare 2 minutes to rate (5 stars) this theme?
Happy to do so – how do I do it?! By the way when is the update coming out?
Hi
You can rate it here – http://themeforest.net/downloads
The update is coming soon. Did you request something for update?
Hi, yes, a Landing page option would be very helpful.
What kind of landing page? Any example.
I will see if it is suitable for theme.
Hi, Is there a set of instructions or a video tutorial to get the Ublog theme up and running, and to show how to customise it?
Thanks
Neil
Currently theme only has documentation and no video tutorials. Theme is easy to use. Everything is self explanatory. If you face any difficulty even after reading documentation, you can comment here.
Hello
The theme is realy beautifull, and I´m loving it. But can you tell me if there is any way to put ``about me´´ widget?
How to centralize the text on sidebar? it is more to left, I want it at the middle.
About video widget, what is video ID? I put the youtube link, but the video doesn´t show up!
Could you help me please? hope for your replay soon
www.belezaestupida.com
Hi
About widget is not yet added in this theme. I will add it in coming versions.
To centralize the text in widgets, you may need custom CSS. If you want I can provide you with custom CSS.
Video ID is ID of video. For example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbyHNASFi6U
In this video link ID is NbyHNASFi6U
Anything after v= is ID of the video.
Thanks
Thanks for replay. One more thing, what can I do to post more than 4 articles at homepage? I want 7 and yes, please give me the css code to centralize the text widget. thanks for attention
You can control number of posts from Settings -> Reading
Here is CSS code for you:
.sidebar-widget {
text-align:center;
}
You can paste this code in Theme Options -> Custom Codes -> Custom CSS
I am using ‘content with right sidebar’ template for the home page. I want to place a full width slider above the content area using a shortcode. I don’t see a way to do this in the theme options. How can I do it?
Slider can be activated from Theme Options panel like shown in the demo. It can’t be shown using shortcodes.
This is in the Documentation – “For Gallery post format, you can upload different images to add gallery slider to the posts. This gallery slider will be shown above post title and also on certain places on homepage.” I created a “homepage” and using it as a static front page. There is no option in the page editor to activate the slider.
You are reading wrong section in documentation. Post formats are for posts.
To enable featured section on homepage see the screenshot:
Thank you. Perhaps then you might update your documentation to reflect the current version. Blog is labeled Home http://screencast.com/t/9vdo98WC and lacks full description.
Thanks for pointing out
I will update it.
So it cannot be set to static page as Homepage and still display the slider? It only works when front page is set to posts.
Slider is only for front page with posts because it’s a simple blog theme. There is no other page designed for homepage.
What do you want to show on homepage?
A static homepage for a business design with blog link in the menu. I have many slider plugins and I use different ones on all my sites depending on the customers needs. It’s usually contained in a separate wrapper above any page content. Slider options controls if to “Display Slider on Homepage Only”. Most themes I have used include this feature. For this site I can just use your default options. Maybe you will consider adding homepage templates with widgetized area above the content in the future. Thanks.
My magazine type themes have widgetized areas over content but this theme is simple and designed only for blog purpose so I didn’t create custom templates.
If I create a new template with widgetized area over content then also your purpose will not be solved because you want to use slider on static page.

Hello,
Does this theme support the advanced ajax page loader plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-ajax-page-loader/)? I’d like my audio to continue playing when users are browsing my website.
Thanks,
Tom
Hi
This plugin doesn’t seem to be working with this theme. I have submitted a support ticket at plugin site and will make this plugin compatible with my theme.
Thanks
Thank you! Please keep me posted. I’ve very interested in purchasing this theme and that’s the only thing that’s holding me back from using it.
Hello, I wanted to follow up here to see if there was an update with the compatibility? I’ve made this plugin work on certain themes that initially weren’t compatible. Would it be possible to set up a test account to see if I can make it work?
Hello
I didn’t get any response from plugin author. I will have to find a solution. If you have solution for it you may install it on your localhost and let me know. I will update the theme accordingly.
Hello,
I sent a PM to request info on how to obtain the theme to install on my localhost to test this feature. How could I go about doing that?
Thanks,
Tom
Are you asking about installing localhost or theme? If localhost then you may search on Google “how to install WordPress on localhost”.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I’d like to test before I buy to ensure that I can make the plugin work with them theme. Would this be possible? Can you provide me with a demo admin login with the plugin installed? Thanks
Hi
I made changes in the theme and plugin works fine now. You may purchase it if you want.
Thanks
Hi Guys,
great theme, I love it. Was easy to install, and I love to play around with the load of settings at the moment
Quick Question 1: What’s the name of the font you use for the text? Can’t seem to find it but I like it
Quick Question 2: Any chance of removing the “views”-count on the main page under each Post title – at least until such a time where the number of views is halfway decent?
Thanks again. Money well spent.
Hi
Glad you like the theme
1) It is using Playfair Display font.
2) You can hide it from Theme Options panel. It is listed under Post Meta Options.
Hi, thanks for your reply. Found the font, it looks great. As for the “views” count, are you sure about that? “Views” is not listed in my theme in Post Meta. I can select/deselect various other options like Date, Author etc, but not the “views”. Thanks again for the theme.
I think it’s missed. Don’t worry. New version is getting ready. I will add this option.
After installing the theme to my site has become very slow, why ? and When I activate another Theme is became faster.
My website is: www.mozn.ws
Hi
The possible cause may be your images are too large. I already suggested you to regenerate images by using “Force Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin. Your page size is 5.37MB. It will take time to load. Regenerate thumbnails and see if it improves the speed.
now my homepage size is 1.7 MB, and it’s also very slow. i try other websites like: www.onehas.com has homepage size more than 6 MB but it’s faster. when i try other them on my website it’s faster also. i’m sure it’s the problem from the UBlog theme, please solve the problem.
i replace the theme to other theme one temporarily to solve the problem.
I could have easily given you the solution if the theme was slow on my server. I’m using simple shared hosting and it loads fine there.
Please ask your hosting provider, why it is loading slow on your server. If they suggest any changes in the theme, I will immediately make those changes.
Hi
A new update is coming with some improvements in redux framework. You may try installing that update once it is available. Because new update improves loading speed significantly on those servers too which were previously facing issues of slow loading.
Hi, i have problem in posts with this style, it’s the featured image in the posts not customize the size with the page directly. how can i solve this problem?
image of the problem: http://s25.postimg.org/5o1zgc9lr/Untitled.pngHi
I think your image is of smaller size. If you give me your URL I can give you exact reason.
this URL: http://www.mozn.ws/5713
I think you are using the theme on an old blog. Please install this plugin – Force Regenerate Thumbnails. It will resize your images according to current theme’s dimensions. You need to run it only once. All new images will be resized automatically.
i’m using the latest version of WordPress, it’s 3.9.1. i’ll try the plugin.
It’s also mentioned in documentation about this plugin.
How can I put those icons near to Home, Archives, Sitemap?
Nevermind… I found it
Great
Just purchased this. Went to install and got this error: “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet. Theme install failed.” Help, please?
Never mind. Found the easy solution. Great theme, thanks!

My current header is 960wx150h pixels. Will this work with this theme or will I need to resize?
Are you using any background image for header that you need to add in new theme?
I created a header image that measures 960×150px, and I like the way it looks with those dimensions. I can easily resize it in Photoshop, but I would like to find a theme that allows me to insert it at its current full size.
You need to resize your image because the width of UBlog is 1170px. If you don’t want to resize then you can repeat this image.
Okay, thanks! What are the maximum dimensions for the logo image?
Logo can spread over full header son don’t worry about width
